Republican position here is "all the above" - includes natural gas, alternative fuels, nuclear as well as domestic drilling. However, Madame speaker, Pelosi, and the dems refuse to have a debates or vote on the possibility of domestic drilling. Moreover, when some dems and repubs were reaching a compromise, Pelosi adjourned the house (and turned off the cameras) for the next 5 weeks while gas prices remain high. But the media still drones on about how the oil company are the "real" bad guys..Hmm

The Republican plan for relief: Give oil companies tax breaks. The hope is that oil companies will use the tax breaks to come up with energy solutions that will work them out of their future oil profits.

The logic in this is ridiculous. We'll never get renewable energy with a crackpot plan such as this!
