@Nucleo85Torino Frankel's reappearance was better than satisfactory. A faster pace in the 2000 Guineas will help him. He could be a horse of a lifetime. Here's hoping!!
@TicinoParadise I wonder if they will ever get him to settle enough for us to see if he can last out over further. But I would love to see him take on Goldilkova and Canford Cliffs later as I think they are the two best milers around at the moment (on last years efforts anyway)
@08DENMAN i have a feeling frankel is gonna smash canford cliffs on july 27th thats when they race.people are down on frankel now because of the horrible ride he got last race but still won but not by his usual10 lenghts.i have said it since last year that he reminds me so much of the zapper and i think by years end people are gonna put him up as 1 of the all time greats.i just hope they send him here to america for the breeders because then he will get his just due.
@tjjlm444 - Frankel did well, and He has better cruising speed then I think zapper. Now whether he can carry it 12 furlongs is another thing. Galileo is a tremendous Sire, so I would assume he would finish the Year running 8 furlongs, and then stretch him out @ 4yrs old IF they race him at 4, and if they don't race him at 4 then they will stretch him out this year in the Arc. Ghostzapper is with out a doubt my Favorite American horse. If only he stayed healthy enough.

Ghostzapper ran well within himsel for a mile then sprinted away in just a furlong. He just toyed with 'em.
Smarty Jones would've been worn down just like he was in the Belmont. Pleasantly Perfect may have finished second but Ghostzapper would've just sprinted away at the the slightest signs of a challenge. And Zenyatta would've been well up the track.
no horse was beating zapper on this day like most days he was on the track. this horse was up there with secreteriat and the bid. he had bad feet and was raced so lightly but one of the most talented and game horses there ever was.
I didn't say that Smarty would win. I said that he would have made it tougher on Ghostzapper. Besides that, some horses mature earlier than others, so the age difference isn't that separating.
The age difference doesn't always mean something because some horses drop off from 3yo to 4yo, etc but usually horses as they mature get better. Smarty would've been better as a 4yo than a 3yo.
Smarty certainly would have been better as a 4yo. I was glad when Curlin was raced again as a 4yo instead of being retired at 3 like so many of the top colts, now.

Roses in May was a damn good horse. It just seems he always ran into somebody better. If Smarty was in this race it would of changed some things. He would of been in the mix.
HAHA! i was at my aunts house who lives 2 minutes from the track, and you could hear the races going, one of the coolest things. And Also, ghostzapper was an amazing horse, people dont realize he ran this race in 1:59. and Pleasantly Perfect gut hung like 20 wide, he could have won. and finally, my aunt met the owner of freeforinternet, and put 200 bucks on him. (sigh)

Bobby Frankel!!. RIP. Frankel over in Europe will do you proud. We may see another Ghostzapper in the 3 yr old Frankel.

That horse would not have gotten within 5 of Ghostzapper. GZ was simply superior.
