  • wow .. Thanks for the Cry ..I have felt those feeling All to often over the last 20 yrs .. (6 tours 42 mths tota my mate is 2 RCR l) Every Military Spouse Knows these feelings who have had family serve overseas for NATO & UN

the Soldiers letter at the end really intensified those feelings

  • I give you the uptmost of credit for making this video. You and you husband should be very proud. Your children are blessed with your courage. I leave in July on ROTO. The fighting is coming to an end but Canadians will continue to carry the torch and follow in the footsteps of those before us. I will show my wife this video before I go and I hope she will be as strong as you. From one military family to the next...I Salut You.

  • My brother is there now on our last Roto. Thank you both for this. It was hard for our whole family to watch him go. We were so proud of him as left at the airport. It was strange though, he looked so determined, so hard. I know he was at least a little scared, but he was excited to get over there, wearing our flag, and working with our Forces in theatre.

Thank you again for this video

  • My brother is there now. Thank you for this.

  • My bf will be deployed soon, I could not stop crying throughout this video. I don't know how I'll get through the 8 months that he is gone. Any advice would be appreciated!

  • @xoxSoccer8Chickxox my mate is a Soldier / 21 yr Veteran of 2 RCR (Royal Canadian Regiment & still serving ) he has just over 42 mths of deployment under UN & NATO in some of the worst area in the world over the last 20 yrs ..i KNOW all to well the fear strains & stresses involved raising a family while your Mate serves ..

  • @xoxSoccer8Chickxox MULTIPLE TOURS Best advice i can give you . DO NOT watch the News . read the papers Live your Life , find a hobby, Volunteer at your local animal shelter, school or old folks place .Helps ease the strain .TRUST ME ! ( til you hear from your Mate or a Priest Then & only Then should you worry) write him Paper letters every day .send him Personal care pkgs often THESE small things can Help you Both get through this & ABOVE All else MAINTAIN your Sense of Humor

  • Lost for words

  • Canada really is the True North Strong and Free

  • I was born and raised in Afghanistan and I can not wait to go back to my mother land and help the country I've abandoned and fight under the banner of the Canadian Flag and serve beside such great men and woman of the Red and White brigade

I am proud to carry the Canadian Flag and call this country my home

Thank you to the men and woman who made a difference not only for people here but the people in Afghanistan as well, I will be joining you shortly

  • @RazorCell7 Most Welcome

  • heinsight you have achieved your goal, this video brought tears to my eyes, i am so proud of our Canadian Soldiers, Airmen and Seamen, in fact when i turn 19 (im 17 now) i will enlist in the Canadian Navy and serve our country in my own way

  • I think all those things about my brother.

And everyone else around me thinks I'm mad. As if I'm ridiculous to even wonder.

    He's still there.

  • thank you for this video. parts of it i feel you took right from my mouth. my brother is an american soldier who is serving overseas. This brought tears to my eyes. Tell your husband thank you and give him a huge hug from a neighbor in Wisconsin. God Bless you and your family!

  • If this poems touches you or gives you more insight to what a military family goes through when their loved one is deployed. If it can help you understand what a soldier has to endure during a deployment to a war zone then I have achieved my goal.

  • @heinsight well THANK YOU for Sharing All ... so many Need to know they are not alone in their feelings of Fear & Despair & Hope & Love

  • its men like your husband that makes me and my friends proud to be canadian

  • That was beautiful. Thank you

  • Thanks for this video. I'm a reservist in Winnipeg. Although I'm not in a combat role (my trade is musician), I've learned a lot about how our soldiers - Reg Force and Reserve - do amazing things overseas, and in adverse conditions.

It really hit me when the band played a funeral for a soldier who paid that price in Afghanistan. Some of the band members had done basic with him.

One of our bandsmen has done the workup training and is going over this week. He will be there as a driver.

    thanks

  • I'm an american soldier's girlfriend and I can tell You your video Made me cry. My baby is over in Afghan right now and I feal almost everything you have felt. I havn't heard from him for two weaks and I'm scared to death to pick up the phone when idk who it is. Bless you n your family and your husband!

Thanks for this vid.. God Bless..

  • God bless you and all the Canadian soldiers

  • Though we are from two different countries, I know your pain and share your thoughts and feelings. I cant wait for my soldier to come home! 7 more months! From one army wife to another, I thank you and your husband for the sacrifices you have made. US Army Wife ~Mrs. Steven Palmer Hooah!

  • Afghanistan is not a good scene. There are no words that I can use to describe it other then to say it is a different world. After over 6 months away I finally came home, but a piece of me is still there. I came back different. Every soldier comes back...different.

But we never stop loving, never ever stop needing our loved ones. As a minority female in 1 MP Platoon... from one women to another.. I thank you for this video. Keep supporting your soldier, we are making a difference.

    Take Care

  • This is a Canadian Classic moment.

  • Ma'am, "domestic niner niner" says it all. Well done and I hope your "Sunray minor" makes it home and you enjoy a long and fruitful life.

  • I want to thank you for sharing this little bit of both sides - what it is to be a soldier's wife; and what it is to be a soldier. I honestly couldn't stop crying while watching this - powerful stuff!

Geoff, when you go back on November 22nd, from your leave I will be praying for you, along with all of the rest of our soliders, I am pround of you, my nephew.

  • I wish you well. I hope and pray your husband comes home safely. I am also a member of the Canadian Military, and my wife is an important part of the military just as I am, as as you are to your husband and America. God bless the women who support us.

    *SALUTE*

  • I'm speechless..........

  • With the application in front of me... I may yet force someone to endure...

  • THIS IS AWESOME M

  • That was refreshingly origional. Nice job.

  • Truely outstanding. They say that we the soldiers are brave, but I think the wife is the bravest of us all.

  • Totally agree with you

  • awesome

  • that was very well done! very well done!

  • What a wonderful video! I know what it's like to be scared when someone comes to the door unexpected, or even to hear a long distance ring when you aren't expecting it. We, the spouses, live on edge, worrying about our significant other day in and day out until we have them in our arms.

  • beautiful poem. This is important for Canadians to see, to yank our collective heads out of the sand. As i wipe away tears having now watched this im not sure how many times, truer words have never been spoken..if u love freedom thank a veteran...one step further..Mandi.. Thank you
