Anything with 8 to 10 mega pixels; any more or less and you won't like the quality of the picture. Most cameras can now record short videos, but if video is more your thing, go to a video camera.

I use a JVC GZ-MS130 , shoots really good video, I use for my vids and video wildlife with it as far as 150 yards away, it has a 40x zoom lens and it shoots in 16:9 (widescreen) has a 16 gig built in hard drive and a sd card slot if 16 gigs are not enough LOL .. hope this helps ,, c-ya round

Personal opinion... Ask Lauren from 5AG about her Canon Rebel T1i. It can supposedly record HD video and is a Digital SLR still camera as well. If she's found that she likes it for both Stills and Video, then the Canon Rebel T1i would be my recommendation.

What camera to get depends on what you plan on doing. I personally like all-in-one shooters because it does everything, and small enough to take everywhere. BUT, video wise, the quality isn't as good as a dedicated video camera. But i you get a dedicated video camera, what'll you use to take pictures? So... what's more important?

On a side note, you can probably get a replacement LCD online for about $50. Might be a good interim solution.

I had a camera quit on me due to just a little bit of moisture which SUCKS... so I decided to get a waterproof, shockproof one. I tried the Sanyo Xacti thing and hated it - you have nothing to hold on to and I don't do well with the flip out screen. Anyway - I ended up going with Pentax Optio W80 and it's awesome. Go check out my video on Kayaking on Lake Champlain - it's the only one I have using that camera so far, but it does HD movies! Yay!

Avoid the Kodak Zi8. Are you looking for a camera/record or just a camcorder? Just for video the flips are nice but I like cameras that do both. Canon Powershots work very well.

depends of what you want. the flip is super simnple to use and works very well, but real cameras have much more features if you like to play with them and actually intend to use them.

but for sure i wouldnt go with the creative one, pretty much everythign they make is poorly produced, and since you already broke one...

you choice of camera depends on what you will do with it? if its vlogging then a flip, sanyo Xacti or a Cannon is great. I personally like the Xacti cause they ahve water proof versions that do a pretty good job of making HD vidoe in 1080p. trippy swears by the flip hd and i would say that is also a good camera based on his videos. so there you have it!

Which Samsung is that? There should be a model number on the front or bottom of it. I could figure out what it would cost for me to fix your camera. Usually screens are only about $40 plus shipping if you get it from a pull.

My favorite camera for stills and videos is a $300 Canon Powershot Digital camera, Kelley had the hi def high end camcorder from Canon and likes it quite a bit, we both have Flip Mino that they gave us at YT Live they are so so in quality
