Religion says that your only purpose is to glorify god. Not only is that your purpose but that is everyone's purpose. And if you want any other purpose then the result will be eternal hell. Nice choice we have, which is no choice at all.
Also, if one wants to take part in the better part of the Christian worldview then all you have to do is filter through the thousands of various (and contradictory) teachings and make sure you obey the right ones so that god will find you worthy of salvation! Better get started though... that list of thousands keeps growing...
Course this all depends on whether Christianity is correct to begin with... oh the choices!

According to the Bible man is dirt which god breathed the breath of life into. Our purpose was to tend god's garden, but since we didn't do it perfectly the vast majority of people will burn in hell forever and "few" will be saved. Where are most people going when they die? To burn in hell forever! While a select few, often called the "elect", will worship god forever.
Funny story about Eric Hovind. Shortly after his Dad had been sent to jail for not paying tax on his income Eric brought his snake oil show through my town. I went to listen to his "debate" and at the end he used the Ray Comfort classic "have you ever told a lie? Then that makes you a liar" sales trip. When he got to the "Your a theif" part I screamed out "Has anyone committed massive tax fraud?" He blushed and moved on top another point.
I understand the evolution point of view and how the world came to be and this guy tells it nothing like scientists understand it to be. Why does he distort it so? Is lying something to be proud about? Is trickery one of God's commandments?
There is only one conclusion to be drawn from this man's deception. He's trying to get people to buy into his product.
