Would just like to say thanks for making these videos. I'm currently in the process of getting all the things like background check sorted and I've found your videos to be most helpful and enjoyable. I'm from the UK so some aspects don't necessarily apply to me but you've definitely helped in making things a little easier and giving peace of mind.
Hey Stephen. I love your videos. I'm leaving tomorrow for Jeonju korea. It's going to be exciting! I'm actually a special education teacher, so I have classroom experience. I have a feeling that the children in Korea are better behaved than American children. Anyway, I hope that my apartment is as nice as your place. =)
@bmaw69 Thanks! I'm in Gwangju, so that's pretty close. The Korean kids may not be as rude as American kids, but they are wild just the same. You may hear some curse words and see the middle finger, they love doing that here too. Luckily, my students don't do that, but I've heard stories from my peers. After a few weeks, the kids get adjusted to you and they behave much better.
You have a lot of good videos. I would like your opinion on this. I don't really think I am much of a teacher (I'm basing this on substitute teaching in the US though). I guess I would be using the job to spend time in a foreign country. Do you think this is a bad idea or not that big of a deal?
@dcut74 It's not a bad idea. You are not really expected to be a great teacher when you come here. You just have to be fun and get the kids excited about English, and get them used to hearing/speaking English. You should at least like your job and want to excel at it, since that's what you'll be doing for 6 hours of your daytime.
You make really good videos. You answer a lot of things that aren't answered anywhere else =) btw do you know if gpa matters in getting a position? i graduated from a good university but a below 3.0 because i slacked off so much my first two years. a little nervous about that
@kal20twelve Seoul is the big city. No need for excuses, everyone wants to go there!!! I'm just saying, any city is fun. Just visit Busan and Seoul to get the big city feeling.
Your videos are much appreciated! I hope to be following in similar footsteps when I graduate in about a year. I'm thinking of finding placement in Daegu or one of the smaller counties/cities in the Gyeongsangnam province .
@stephenworldwide Yes! I actually found a small rural hagwon job in the Gyeongnam province! I've been in constant contact with the current teacher and it sounds great. She is leaving around August 17th so I should be arriving sometime around then. Really looking forward to it.
Hi, I have been watching your video and wanted to know what recruiting agency you used when applying to work in S. Korea. Thanks a lot

@bmaw69 You're down by the shore. I'm from Millburn, a suburb near Newark. If you've heard of the Short Hills Mall, then that's where I'm from.

@phantomwaltz GPA doesn't matter, unless you have a boss who cares about that. You just need the 4-year degree so you get the visa to come over.

U make a good point. The main reason I want to go to Seoul is because I have family there. I went in 2005 and loved it.

@furizen So you will be close to Busan? You can visit the beach before the weather gets cold! Enjoy it, let me know how it goes!
