Great tute thank you. Quite new to max but this seems like a great method to achieve something a little more realistic and I like the amout of control this method gives you.
That is a great tutorial. Thanks! I thought this was the best way to make curtain, I'm decent in using object to create certain things. However, I am very bad with cloth Modifiers and I was hoping you give us a little bit of tutorial with that, including cloth reactor which makes it float. Thank you so much.
why not just use the cloth modifier on a plane? You could just cut the plane as you would with a piece of fabric in real life, I never tried it (but I'm about to) in theory that would be much easier and look more realistic if you just add some wind and gravity to it.
@Godisen007 True. Applying the colth modifier would create a good animation or simulation. but try applying the cloth and then try getting the shape as showed in the video tutorial. It is a matter of choice really, The video is purely intend to show modeling in different layers of the object.
Haha very nice! I liek your honesty and the sound that I believe was a beer bottle :D

Why not just make a spline of a S curve and extrude it?

This way you have more control over your object. You can allways go back to previous modifiers without causing any problems.
