Wrong. A thousand times wrong. My sister weighs around 95 pounds and eats crazy amounts and is very active. The girl in the film is sick, but many people can be very small naturally. Every woman in my family is small like that. Don't spread misinformation like that.

However, if you are eating a normal, healthy diet and are larger than she is, that probably means that is the weight your body wishes to have. And, if that is the case, trying to achieve that smaller size could result in unhealthy restricting to achieve.

Kelly went too far... I feel really bad for her, I do, but she needs to be in an inpatient ED unit. She is just way to thin now and she wants to keep going. I did the program once 11 years ago and hated every minute of it but it did teach me to be careful... She should have stayed a 4.

Some girls are naturally as skinny as the girl here, who tries to be a model. I have a friend who is like that, she eats much more than everybody else but can not gain weight (her brother is the same). It seems a little bit unfair then ... they CANT gain that much weight as 1 stone.
Kelly strikes me as being more of Anorexia type II binging and purging anorexic than bulimic, like, i know every disorder is different to the individual but most bulimics (or...me at least) would find it hard to not eat a 'normal' meal to please the friends and family and purge later, and really go for it to convince everyone you're ok and purge in secret.

Unless you've had eating disorders, you can't possibly understand how difficult it is to just "start eating". It's hard to quit smoking and some very addictive drugs, and it's hard to break the hold an eating disorder has on you.

Do people seriously not understand she's ILL? That's like going up to someone with cancer and saying, "Get rid of those stupid tumors, you're making a fool out of yourself". If this is seriously the majority's opinion on eating disorders, my heart really goes out to these girls dealing not only with their illness but insensitive fucks who feel entitled to tear them down even more.

So these rules are there not because its unhealthy or these models give an unreal body image and almost encourage girls to be underweight, but because the media is always talking about dead models who happened to be extremely skinny. But then if she says she's healthy with a bmi of 15, who are doctors to disagree, i mean, we all know they made up those numbers.

But when they're bulimic, offending someone isn't the first concern.. and vice-versa, worrying about offending someone who is morbidly obese isn't what should be focused on in that situation. I'm not saying that telling someone to gain/lose weight is the right approach but essentially, if they're unhealthy, then it's something they should address..

Kelly went too far... I feel really bad for her, I do, but she needs to be in an inpatient ED unit. She is just way to thin now and she wants to keep going. I did the program once 11 years ago and hated every minute of it but it did teach me to be careful... She should have stayed a 4.

How can she call them "stupid rules" Yeah I get it, she's naturally thin, but the reason she was teased itself tells you that this is not a typical body weight, That she is the ecception, that she is underweight. For every girl like her, theirs 10-20 more that starve themselvs to acheive that same figure. If I were in her shoes, I would still have the common sense enough to know that eating disorders are rampant in the modeling industry and understand their concerns regardless

How is Kelly's hair not falling out..? Maybe it's just me but after nine months of binging and purging and probably restricting, you'd think her body would start shutting down. Maybe it IS falling out, but it still looks pretty nice. My hair was absolutely trashed after a period of anorexia and bulimia.

While a nice girl she IS self-absorbed.There is no denying! Yes, it might be because of her illness, it very likely is, but don't use it to excuse all of her behavior.
Many people here either don't know ED and are trying to be kinda politically correct, or are taking the critic way too personally. I used to be like that, didn't care about my effect on people. Well didn't think I was worthy of having an effect on anything but still that doesn't excuse how I was towards others. So.. Yeah... :P

What the model doesn't get is that she doesn't look healthy and she is not the standard of beauty that he's looking for because she needs to gain weight... fast metabolism or no, her body really is not as healthy with a BMI below the starving level. i don't believe she has a problem with eating or food or anything, just that she'd undoubtedly be better off with more of it.

Victoria is being bitter and unfair. "It's all this media hysteria that's caused everyone to have to sort of worry unnecessarily. It shouldn't really be an issue if you're healthy". Well HELLO, how can a person opening up a magazine know whether a model is healthy or not? This girl is a living contradiction - first she says she understands they do it to protect themselves then calls the worry unnecessary. People are dying from EDs, of course measures have to be taken to avoid bad influence.

@ProBabe2010 When this was shot Kellie is suffering with a drug and alchol addiction as well. She had very low self esteem and ended up working as a stripper. She did not marry Hugo.
It took her ten years to over come her demons. We are very proud of her.

Some girls are naturally as skinny as the girl here, who tries to be a model. I have a friend who is like that, she eats much more than everybody else but can not gain weight (her brother is the same). It seems a little bit unfair then ... they CANT gain that much weight as 1 stone.

Kelly strikes me as being more of Anorexia type II binging and purging anorexic than bulimic, like, i know every disorder is different to the individual but most bulimics (or...me at least) would find it hard to not eat a 'normal' meal to please the friends and family and purge later, and really go for it to convince everyone you're ok and purge in secret.

@alyson32590 she could have an over-active thyroid which would make it incredibly hard to gain weight. My auntie struggles to keep herself a size 8 because of this and has easily fallen into being a size 4 throughout her life because she finds it so hard to gain weight.

@ayesha266 having an eating disorder has nothing to do with "being selfish", and in fact, a lot of people with eating disorders turn that way because they have complexes with control, and tend to be people who have to take care of others, and who relegate their emotional happiness to others rather than themselves. So to tell an EDd person that they are "being selfish" by having a mental disorder, you are doing nothing but showing your own ignorance.

This isn't an 'illness' like cancer or even Schizophrenia, this is a life choice. And Kelly can live like that if she wants, I really don't care, but she shouldn't lead Hugo on to believe that she's choosing him over the anorexia, because she clearly isn't. She should let him live his life. But she's not, so I stand by what I said. She's selfish.
