The change he makes to the world is however his music affects you. I don't know what you expected or why you're watching this video - I don't know if you expected Gandhi or Galileo or something. He's a guitarist that fronted metal bands. He had a profound effect on my life simply because of his music.

It's a damn shame. Everytime I listen to these guys I just picture how even more awesome they would be now. Jon was turning into a damn good guitarist too.
I admit this album is different from their first two releases. However, the brilliance is there, you just have to work hard for it. Listen to it with headphones and you'll start to hear old dissection coming through the music.
That said, no album by Dissection or *any* other metal band will ever top The Somberlain for me. And the fact that he was only 17 when he recorded it should make most musicians ashamed of themselves. Jon was better than what metal deserved but he is sorely missed.
On the 15th October 2011 will be the 30 year anniversary of Metallica forming. This band comprised of mere men no different then you and me, have graced this land with music in its purist form for 30 glorious years. I admit this album is different from their first two releases. However, the brilliance is there, you just have to work hard for it. Listen to it with headphones and you'll start to hear old dissection coming through the music.
That said, no album by Dissection or *any* other metal band will ever top The Somberlain for me. And the fact that he was only 17 when he recorded it should make most musicians ashamed of themselves. Jon was better than what metal deserved but he is sorely missed.

Um I'm sorry, but learn your history before making such claims. Venom was formed in 1979 and was one of the pioneers of the black metal/Thrash metal scene. So really, if it wasn't for Venom THEN there might not be bands like Dissection and many others.

While I find many problems with the MLO Jon was a part of, my Philosophy (I'm a Philosopher and author of a few books), which I dubbed Chaosophy, explores many metaphysical aspects with which I agreed immediately as soon as I learned about the MLO, but their zealotish Manichaean Gnosticism and disdain for material and Cosmos is a grave mistake. There are some logical errors with the blaming of Cosmos.
