mmm sounds like what new agers do to channel spirits also whats the point it's a focus that is on yourself not God meditation with scripture is different than what you are suggesting here you can find peace through God's Word not your own mind. Prime example of the New Age doctrine slithering into Christianity one of your comments I read said there is nothing against this in the Bible the Scriptures say do not practice the way of the heathen. This is what ppl do to contact spirit guides ect..
@evewale Physical exercise focuses on the body, and the heathen do it. The Bible says that "in the abundance of words, transgression is unavoidable." When's the last time you didn't have words going through your mind for more than a few seconds? Silence is not new age, but it is Biblical, and being unable to close our mental mouths makes transgression unavoidable. Transgression, such as calling something evil which God's Word does not call evil.
@benfaust Transcendental meditation, as it is often called, is not biblical meditation. It is dangerous and actually opens up one’s mind for Satanic attack as it is found in New Age thinking. In Scripture it does not mean to sit and ponder infinity or to empty the mind so some force can fill it by repeating some chant or mantra. Such is dangerous and opens the mind to demonic attack. Meditation in the Bible means reflective thinking on biblical truth so that God is able to speak to us through Scripture and through the thoughts that come to mind as we are reflecting on the Word, but that must also be filtered by the Word.
@evewale You're right, the definition of the word translated "meditation" in the Bible is to ponder or think about. That's completely different, and should not be replaced by the meaning of the English word "meditation." I'm not sure how TM fits in to this or repeating mantras or emptying the mind. The meditation I talk about is just shutting our mental mouths and letting our minds be at rest. You're connecting it with things it's not connected to at all.
@benfaust your method of meditation is the same method ppl use to channel demonic (which they don't know are demonic) entities to RELAX the mind is to let your guard down the Bible says for us to guard our minds protect them. when channeling demonic beings the person will go into an altered state of mind leaving access for other entities to use that person to relay messages, messages that usually consist of the first lie presented to us that we can be (evolve) like gods.
@evewale The mind is relaxed every night during sleep, the only difference being that we're unaware of what's going on during sleep. It's more dangerous to go to sleep than to quiet your mind. Just because the world does something does not make that something evil. The Amish might consider automobiles and electricity "evil," something the world does but a believer should not. Deception can come equally as easy with or without meditation. Consider atheism.
I've looked over your comments and have seen that you have been told these dangers before you need to heed to the warnings this is new age to the core research new age meditation this is the exact method the Bible tells us not to follow the ways of the world this is one of those ways that will lead someone to deception, or possibly possession which is much worse.
@evewale I heed Biblical warnings. But warnings that come from people's fears, I heed only if the Holy Spirit confirms them. No Christian should approach others' opinions in any other way than to first of all consult the Scriptures and then, within its guidelines, listen for the leading of the Holy Spirit. Maybe God doesn't want you meditating for some reason, or (more likely) you associate it with evil, and it is thus wrong for you (against your conscience). Don't depart the Biblical framework.
@benfaust I'm sorry sir but I do not fear God's enemies. You can't sit there and get rid of what is going on today we are in the end times should we worry or fear no BUT the Bible tells us to contend for the Truth, to be the salt of the earth, separate from this world. Jesus also told us about a great lie and if it were not for the Holy Spirit even the believers would believe it. He tells us many times in Scripture not to be deceived and to test every thing with Scripture.
@evewale Agreed. Everything should be tested with Scripture, even our own gut reactions to things we think are against God's Word. We should be like the Bereans, searching the Scriptures daily to see if the things we hear or think are true (or even if they're good or evil). A group is planning to attack our online church service Sunday because they feel as though worship set to contemporary music is evil. And so, for them, it would be. But neither upbeat music nor silence are evil in themselves.
Christian meditation is reflection on God's Word not emptying the mind and relaxation why are we suppose to reflect on God's word? Because of what the Bible is—Revelation from God. In the Bible God has spoken and through this book God reveals Himself, reveals who and what man is, and what His plan for man consists of. ( Ps. 19:7,2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Isa. 55:8) This IS NOT THE SAME PRACTICE OF MEDITATION THAT WE ARE INSTRUCTED TO DO

doesn't appear biblical, never knew of anyone in the bible talking about meditation or God talking to anyone about it. So why start now? why do incorparate this as to be part of a Christainity. Sure there is nothing wrong with exersice stretching etc but why specifically meditation? when it was originated by hindus?
@incognitus101x It's not part of Christianity, nor am I claiming to add it. And to my knowledge, the Hindus didn't come up with meditation. Even 100 years ago, it would have been much easier to "be still." Today, everything is moving so quickly, that most people are unable to control their minds, and that causes countless physical and emotional issues, plus an inability to "bring every thought captive.". This program simply teaches you how to focus while becoming still and quiet.
That's very insightful of you, because in the Bible it says that we are to meditate on God's Word alone, and to obey it. Jesus even says (in Luke 11:28: "Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it." Jesus says: "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." He does not suggest this, but commands it of His followers, and because they love Him, they obey Him.
No one should follow this kind of meditation practice mentioned here because it is very dangerous due to the potential possibility of evil spiritual forces entering into a person and causing harmful things to happen to them if they are not aware of their circumstances or thought patterns. When they are "meditating" in this way, any spiritual force can influence a person and cause much havoc in their lives and those around them if they do not guard their hearts and keep alert.. ./3
@choirwoman yes we can meditate in God's. Meditate as in deep thinking ,ponder, muse and/or reflect in God's word. I was just implying it doesn't refer to meditation as practiced by hindu tradition or other eastern practices. On can read and meditate in reading God's word.
The Lord Jesus tells us in John 10:1-5 "Very truly, I tell you, Anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. .../4
The earliest written record of meditation is found in five thousand year old Hindu scriptures. It occurs right around the first mentions of Buddha and it was not long before it began to be practiced all across Asia. @TracyB777 I deleted your last comment because of the attacking words "You're just a sinner trying to fool Christians." If you want to discuss the issue in a Christ-like manner, private message me. But don't post any more public attacks, that's not kosher.
All NEW AGE stuff is from the enemy. It is of the devil. This video is nothing less than self hypnosis. This is pagan spiritualism. You are lowering your defenses, and allowing demons to come right in. The bible doesn't say to relax. It does say we are in a spiritual battle. Also, to put on the armor of God, not to take it off! Turn away from New Age Spirituality. It is not of the Holy Spirit.
@TracyB777 I'm not sure where in the Bible we're told to not relax, or to never learn how to focus, or where it even suggests doing those things is New Age or occult, or where it says we will get posessed if we relax. That sounds like fear, not Scripture. You relax at night, go into a type of trance, and lose complete awareness of your body. The Amish are afraid of electricity. For both them and you, you should continue to obey your conscience, while not condemning those without your fear.
@benfaust Have you seen hypnotic suggestion take place? It's identical to your meditation video. Hypnotic suggestion is New Age Spiritualism. again you appeal to emotional plea, instead of bible scripture. You aren't bringing people closer to God, by ignoring His word. The Bible says to be separate from this world.
There is peace in Christ Jesus. There is no trance you need to achieve it. You just need to trust in him, and go where He leads you. Jesus will always lead you to stop sinning.
@TracyB777 So are you (appealing to emotions instead of Bible scripture). You have not shown any Scripture which says relaxing and building up your strength of focus is something bad. There's no point in having an argument about it. If you know of Scripture which says relaxed focus is evil, please do share. Otherwise, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
@benfaust James 4:4 don't be friends with the world. Hypnotism is of the world. We are in a constant spiritual battle. 2Corinthians 10:4-5. We are not to let down our guard, but to put on the Armour of God. Ephesians 6:10-18.
Why don't you show me where it says we can just relax, and practice the witchcraft of hypnosis?
@TracyB777 Saying meditation is witchcraft is not Biblical. Did you know that the quickest way to fall into a hypnotic trance is to watch television? Sitting on the seashore listening to the waves also produces a trance. Sleeping at night takes you into a very deep trance, and requires at least some level of relaxation. Acts 10:9 says, "Then (Peter) became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance." Was Peter a male witch?
@benfaust Changing it into just physical relaxation? We know that your meditation is more than that. Equate it with sleeping? You are saying to people to go to sleep? While the Bible says to be alert and watchful.(1Peter 5:8)You still haven't given any Biblical precept that allows hypnosis. Acts 10:10 is talking about a vision from God. Peter did not seek the vision, it came to him. the word Ekstasis in Acts 10:10 means any casting down of a thing from its proper place or state, displacement.
@TracyB777 Yes, it is focused relaxation. And yes, going to sleep is 1) going into a deep state of relaxation and 2) going into a very deep and disassociative trance. You've already made up your mind that I'm promoting something evil, and I realize I can't say anything to change your mind. Because of that, I'm finished posting responses and cluttering up the comment space. If you want to continue a discussion on the issue, send me a private message.
@8triforce92 "Namaste" means "(I) bow to you." It is a very respectful greeting. I thought you researched things before "looking silly" in front of people... ? I know you're having fun posting a bunch of comments to this one video, but since you're just picking at people, I'm going to block you now.
@TracyB777 Huh? I didn't block you... I will if you want me to... And if your approach is going to be to escalate into a fight, maybe that would be best.
friend invite....your vid caught my eye? We were warned about many things? I had a friend to warn and chastise my about doing a yoga dvd. It did not have any new age speach in it. The holy spirit does not condemn me when I exercise. I have some health challenges. Many so christians beat up on other christians who perform certain routines or activities. It is between God and you what you do. ONLY he knows the heart.
@prayerwarrior1995 Thanks for your comment. :o) You're right, we're very quick to condemn anything that doesn't fit in with our mental image of how we think things should be, even things that are in no way spoken against by Scripture. Whatever your health issues are, the non-spiritual side of Yoga is bound to help. I use some basic Yoga moves to help with my kneck and shoulder pain (I'm a computer programmer, and that creates issues). Thanks again for commenting. :o)
@benfaust I am very quick to condemn anything that isn't Biblical. I am very quick to condemn anything that comes from the devil. To not do so, shows poor judgment, with no discernment. WAKE UP!
@TracyB777 You're right. God tells us to stay tense and be always afraid, and the devil tells us that the Lord gives His beloved rest, and we should seek to enter into that rest (the day called Today). The devil tells us to cast all our cares upon the Lord, while the Bible tells us to hold on to them to avoid getting demon posessed. The devil tells us to be still and know that God is God, while the Bible tells us to keep our minds rambling on a million miles a minute. Thanks for the wake up call
@benfaust The Bible tells us to let our yes be yes, and our no be no, and anything more than this is evil. Your comment is evil. It is full of evil sarcasm! Repent!
@TracyB777 My sarcasm was responding in kind. Here's a reword: The devil tells us to stay tense and be always afraid, and the Bible tells us that the Lord gives His beloved rest, and we should seek to enter into that rest. The Bible tells us to cast all our cares upon the Lord, while the devil tells us to hold on to them to avoid getting demon posessed. friend invite....your vid caught my eye?

The Bible tells us to be still and know that God is God, while the devil tells us to keep our minds rambling on a million miles a minute.
