  • Nothing beats the High Sierra.

My favorite elevations are in the 5,500 - 8,500 range. Temperature drops about about 2 degrees for every 1,000 of elevation gain. Naturally, a cold front will increase that rate.

I love the conifers up there too: Sugar Pine, Big Cone Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, Ponderosa Pine, White Fir, Douglas Fir, Ceder, etc. Absolutely gorgeous, and the smells!

If you stick your nose in the crack of a Ponderosa, it's smells like sweet pineapple. At least I think its Ponderosa

  • love these mountain ranges.

These storms are "cool" & refreshing.

Ever get over to the Escalante stairs up to the Fish Lake national?

  • If you mean Hwy 12 thru Escalante, Boulder, etc, I go that way as often as possible. I have gone past/stopped at fish lake. I try understand Mormon Utah as being similar to Babylon, Sodom&Gomorrah, etc:: God gives really nice things to people who don't deserve it and when they prove it true then God toasts them. But it doesn't seem fair they should have Utah....

  • That's it, hwy 12. Have a friend from S.L. that built a ranch house there. Haven't seen him in a while.

I find it abnormal how these small towns are ruled. Spooky in some of the very small towns. Blood atoned people wandering about?
