Tupac was so much larger than than life than BIG and BIG didn't really blow up until after he died and I think a lot of that has to do with his association with 2pac and the mysteries surrounding their deaths. Before death, before 2pac was on Death Row, 2pac had the #1 album in the country, out of all genres (country, rock, rap, pop etc.). Before death the highest Biggie's album charted was #3 in Rap and #13 in all genres. But then he dies and suddenly 2pac can't be mentioned without BIG.
