  • i think i might try the muscle up , but i dont know exactly how should i return on the ground after. should i go down slowly or fast but restrain my weight while going down?

  • maybe in two years i will be able to do a full set of the pull up clap

  • in this video 'fun' got a different meaning !!

  • ... i'll never do pull ups again...

  • the wider the grip the more it widens the lats? please someone with huge lats tell me :p i work out my back on tuesday thaaaanks

  • can u do the muscle up in the rings ?

  • Scot, can I borrow some of your muscle over the weekend?

  • I prefer the machines.. it's easier for me.

  • Do you really have to go all the way to the point your face is above the bar????? Or until your elbow is 90 degree is good enough?????

  • @889966754 90 degrees is just perfect enough to activate the lats mate :)

  • well hes a little bit gorgeous :P

  • BEASTING

  • Just watching that last one makes me sweat!!

  • you bloody show off but ooooh so envious and jealous grrrrrrrr ;)

  • the last exercise is muscle ups, right?

  • @asianrelrel Yes

  • the pull up into a dip is like a gymnastic muscle up

  • yeah. if i did pull up claps on my door hanging pull up bar, it would break, id fall, and get in trouble lol

  • Just clearing his throat 2:45 - 3:06

  • Hahah the last exercise , fucking monster! :D

  • Thumbs up if you were chanting " Fall! Fall! Fall!" while he was doing the clapping pull ups

  • whats with the fucking tsst tsst.

  • I find the one handed clap pull up more challenging.

  • are these videos just so you can show off .....what an ego

  • hey Scott , my shoulder hurts when I do "wide -grip" pull ups (not in the beginning but after two sets ) ......I guess i do something wrong (of course I always do warm up exercises before that) but ...it still hurts ......any suggestion?

  • We literally just got this machine in school about a week ago... but we dont have th attachments yet, idk why theyre waiting to put them on.. cant wait though.

  • @MBryantFFNY I hope you get them soon my friend! :)

  • i do a pull up,then a front flip, then catch and repeat..

  • why do you alternate raising your feet on the dips?

  • @TheIancross to activate the core a bit more :)

  • If you really want to see something incredible check out "bar-barians" you'll be like O.O :D

  • Comment removed

  • @DUAL727 lol, how is this not correct or difficult? The three "fun" variations he did are waay harder than normal pull ups, especially the clapping and the muscle ups.

  • no one is doing like that.. and I think that's not correct technique.. just do basic pull ups.. no need to be fun.. training must be hard, correct and useful... not funny

  • @DUAL727 the gym should be fun. Otherwise you won't be coming back to the gym and stop going.

  • all i did was pull up and fart

  • scot im 16 and 1.72 centimetres and i just started fitness shall that stop my gorwing process ? please help

  • @milotist excercising, working out etc. - does not make you stop growing in height

  • I like to do my pull ups over a pit of burning q'urans. People seem to have problems with this.

  • youre a great teacher!

  • u really hhave nice videos scott! but why do you keep saying tsccchhhhh every time :P?

  • Uh O Scott Herman Got skillzz! And this is 2009. Imagine where he is at now

  • thanks man this video was fun yet very inspiring

  • Can anyone tell me which muscles I should train to be able to perform a single pull up? There's a pull up bar in my gym but it's right in the middle and I don't want all the big guys watching me fail, you know.

  • @TheInsanityReleases The back muscles especially the lats

  • The last one is hardcore :)

  • Press "1" repeatedly ;) BTW nice video!!

  • What helps you do muscle ups? Just getting good at pull ups or should I do lots of dips too?

  • Nice muscle ups man!

  • I like to do pull up jack offs when I get all the way up I stroke 3 times per 5 pull ups i get massive gains in my right arm, but I can't seem to get the left arm gaining.

  • hey Scott, i was wondering what a good routine would be for sets and exercises. would three sets of three exercises be good for a day? Also do you incorporate running into your weekly schedule because i'm usually so tired after lifting? Thanks!

  • do it until the whole machine falls down on ur body

  • scott...try type "hannibal for king"...check out the video...this is not a spam...check out what this guy workout...real extreme...maybe you could try it too :))

  • This looks like something a black man invented

  • i was doing the last ones and i got some crazy looks in my gym haha

  • what do i do if i struggle to do dips? i can get up like that its just hard to do dips?

  • y do the dip thing aswell... who does back and triceps on the same day?!?! unless ur doing full body or something

  • if i did fall i would totally post it as a blooper' hahahaha

  • How the fuck am i suppose to do this, this just puts me down knowing ill never be able to do none of these, but scotts vids are helpful.

  • how do you increase strength to be able to muscle-up? I can do dips and about 8-12 pull ups depending on how I feel but I cant do one muscle-up

  • @GrappyFlappy I have the same issue =/

  • Scott. I have been watching ur vids for a loonng time now and iv never commented on one but on this one i HAAAD TO COMMENT! uv inspired me soo much iv almost reached my fitness goals. everytime i wanna get inspired i watch one of ur vids. Thnk you for being a inspiration to us guys. keep it up.

  • Holy crap!!

  • amazing

  • how many regular pullups should you be able to do before being strong enough to do those muscle ups? i'm able to do 10 but i can't even do one muscle up

  • so if you need to be able to do more you should clap to make them harder... you are stupid.

  • I think I'll stick with regular pull ups for now. :P

  • Muscle ups... omfg... I love them. lol

  • I fell on the clap everyone looked at me

  • wtf man r u like gymnist

  • the clap seems arbitrary

  • GYM is so empty

  • i just did the pull up dips and my head went into the drop ceiling, i then realized that you warned me at 2:20

  • you are crazy

1 arm pull ups are also good

  • muscle ups are pretty tough, nice

  • Man You Are Totally Crazy Cool!

Pull up to Dip! Insane (*but I will Try it!)!

pull up clap! nut! ('course I'll Try)

(A trainer Buddy taught me a variation (horizontal pull up ) that's really a hanging arm curl...intense! )

    Great videos Scott! Thanks man!

  • His clap pull-ups made a good beat. ;)

  • yawn... I'd be more impressed if you did the pull ups with a 10 lb weight on your back

  • once i tried doing an underhand grip chin-up, jumping at the top, then catching the bar overhand.

it was like slo-motion and i saw my hands miss the bar. i just had time to think: "oh shit" and then i landed.

i must have swung my legs up or something cus i landed on the back of my head and shoulders.

i wont be trying clap pull ups for a while! haha lol :)

  • @NiallPMcE Hahahah damn

  • I got a pull up bar a coulple of days ago so I will try some of these

  • nice

  • Man I thought I was good finally being able to do 30 wide grip chinups, got alot of work to do to reach clapping ones, one day though!

  • if u want see fun pull up watch hannibal for king

  • keep work at it, one day you can be like the BARTENDERS, BARMASTERS, HARLEM SEALS....

  • note to self..dont try clap pullups on iron gym hanging in your doorway...the first half of pulling yourself up is fine, but then it goes all down hill from there, you end up not being able to grab the bar and you fall on your ass and the bar falls on you lol

  • Awesome ending!

  • i can do a whole set of 10 for the first 2 but lol the last set is too much i do like 3 and im done its really intense

  • intensee

  • Scott, everytime I do chin ups or pull ups and I lower it too much to get back up, my left rear shoulder deltoid is hurting so bad, what will be the best remedy for this?.

  • haha.. the last one is amazing, but unfortunately the ceiling in my gym isnt too high !!

  • i love doing those last pull ups at the gym .

    everybody always get jealous :p

  • Those ones with dips remind me of muscle-ups. Now THEY ARE DIFFICULT

  • i really like doing pull ups with my feet in the air ;) try it

  • im gona pull up do a backflip 360, drop and do it again ...do about 10 of those and ull be strong for life..

  • i wish i could do those last ones, but my gym dosnt have that kind of pull-up bars :( you see its just one bar that is bent att the edges so there is no space for me to lift myself all the way upp witout hitting the middle bar :P and yess the claps would be impossible without having my chin get cracked att the middle bar :P

  • the day I can do pull-ups to dips will be a good day in my life ... I'll have that as a goal !

  • What a beast.

  • that is so crazy.

  • I would like to try this but my gym have almost no equipment for different chinsexercise =( I think chins are really fun but hard to do and it feels like I never really seem to improve my amount of chins even if I do train every other day, even do a few every day just for fun when I'm bored at home...

  • This is if you want even more fun.

pull up claps are for sissies,

what i do is pull up knive juggle.

now it might sound scary to do because youre afraid of falling but when you pull yourself up and juggle knives then catch the bar, you activate more mucles.

  • lol

  • @walker1054 rofl

  • @walker1054 HAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Comment removed

  • @walker1054 one of the funnyest comments i've seen in a while lol

  • @walker1054 LOL!!

  • I am inspired to work harder and possibly one day be as good as you Scott Herman.

  • i love to inspire!

  • pull up clap? you're suicidal

  • that one is really fun!

  • @ScottHermanFitness pull up claps aren't for begginers tho, i'd say way past pros/intermediate

  • @ScottHermanFitness Ross Enamait and the Beast Skills guy also do that it's a hardcore moves.

  • I like the muscle-ups. They're hard, but they work a little bit of everything in the upper body.

  • I tried this with my my iron bar gym. I accidently hit my head on the ceiling and then landed on my back it was fun. xD Next time i'm wearing a helmet so i can do more. >=o

  • @Daneeban000 lol! better luck with the helmet!

  • oh no!!! be careful!!

  • Dammit!

you make it look so easy!, those pull ups to dips really burn you out man!

  • yeah.. they are tough!

  • Got that exact machine at my gym, but the ceiling isn't nearly high enough. Good vid.

  • got that machine at my gym :)

  • good stuff, you are the first one I saw doing muscle up without a straight bar!

  • thats a awesome pull up machine

  • If you want some variations that are even more fun (advanced), check out the guy in this Russian video on YT:

Турник + брусья, сильный парень из Днепропетровска

For some reaso, I can seem to post the link, but that's the exact title. The pull up variations are insane, and look next to impossible.

  • the last variation looks really awekward fro the elbow lol

  • you're insane :O i'm speechless.......

  • Wow.. there is a guy in my gym who does all these kind of pull ups he is extremely flexible, I think he is in the university's gymnast team or something.. when he does pull ups he goes up and up and then rotates and his legs face the ceilings of the roof then.. he is the only one in the entire university gym who can do that.

  • Good stuff, Scott. I recently switched from weight training to variations of push ups and sit ups.I will be incorporating some of this as well.

  • that was crazy it looks so hard to do but i like it,,, thats my new gol pull up clap

  • Yeah fun variations for sure. Although the ''clap'' version looks kinda hard to do. Anyway nice video, thanks for sharing!

  • the clapping one and the last one look insanely difficult...i' would be happy if i could get one rep before i die.

  • Those were some crazy versions.

  • Haha no I go to my college gym because it's free, so I guess I can't complain... The gym is meant to be fun though!

  • There's no way they'd let me do some of those things at my gym, they told me to be quiet today, like I was at a library!

  • heyy scott thanks for directing me to this page i will most defiantly put it to use..

by the way your a beast i soo cant even do those last pull ups lol

  • damn

  • nice muscle ups

  • You're a friggin beast Scott!

  • No way I'm doing that last one...steps. Hell no..plus I would hit the ceiling at my little gym for sure. haha

  • I noticed that when you do pull ups you extend your arms all the way, but when you demonstrated lat pull downs on the machine, you said not to extend the arms all the way. Is there a difference since they both work the lats and biceps. Thanks.

  • WTF?!?! That's insane lol.

I'll get there one day so no biggie.

  • goodness gracious bootty-botacious!

i'd never be able to do that.

    jeeeeez.

    i'd brake my face.

    :P

  • Scott noticed when you were doing the pull up - dips you kicked your legs almost as a bicycle movement never seen anyone do that before on a dip but I have never seen anyone do that exercise you just did before (except gymnast) I have lower back problems and dips seem to activate the pain (which is a shame because I loved doing dips) and I was wondering if this was a way I could change it up so I can do dips again or you knew of any way.

  • Who New Pull Ups Could Be So Fun!!! Great Variations on a classic exercise!!

  • damn!!!!!!!

  • damn you're a beast

  • Awsum Scott. Think I;ll hold off on the clappin one til nobody's around LOL!

  • that last one is pretty tough. Not sure what the name for that exercise is but i've heard people refer to them as 'muscle ups'.

  • yeah - you do make it fun

  • amazing amazing stuff!

  • I can't even do 5 repeats of ordinary pull ups:p

  • Good vid, but I was expecting something different. For example, you could simply explain the exact spot that each of the movements target. For example, the pull up, with arms away from you targets mostly the lats and the forearms; the chin-up with palms facing each other works the upper back most of all; and the chin up with your arms close together directly in front of you targets the upper back and especially the biceps.

  • SHOWOFF!!!!! lol

    Nice video

  • Looks like that last one that you do can be extremely dangerous. Be careful!

  • FUN AND EXERCISE?

    Pfft!

when is exercise ever fun, the only exercise that is fun is in the bed, if you know what i mean XD

  • nice video. wow these are sum krazy fun pull-ups. i would never try those clapping pull-ups tho, lol. thanx for these variations.

  • its not that i'm tired of going up and down; i'm just too tired to even go up lmao

  • greatt info, il have to give that a try.

  • Holy Crap Now Thats A Workout!

  • ' Tired of just going up and down? '

    thats what she said.

    [;

  • lmao

  • Ill give you a call once i can do ONE PULL UP and then we can talk about getting me to do more preps of it.......by the time i can do any of the others we would be dead lol. Thanks for the video it was great tho! lol

  • Scott, how about posting a vid demonstrating what you think is the single most important exercise for each major body part -- like for guys on the run who need a quick overall workout? You're good! sg

  • You call that fun ? jesus christ :)

  • 1:09 = awesome

    1:42 = awesome

2:11 = showoff (I admire wise guys being smart asses, kudos grande)

    2:50 = to finale = OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question: Do you do vertical (hanging upside down) setups? My best was 1 7. (Had to work my way up from 3 for 6 months.) After being able to do 17 verticals I was able to do over 350 normal sits at one sitting. They stopped me because of time and everyone wanted to go home for the evening... (sigh). Just curious.

    Cheers mate.

  • pretty intense

  • Hey Scott, if you can't do 1 pull up on your own, what is the best way to gradually build the strength to complete 1 on your own, then 2 and so on? Can you do a video on that?

  • "Tired of just going up and down?"

    LMFAO XD

  • looks terrific!

    thanks for the sharing!

  • dude youre an effing beast lol. hopefully one day i get there.

  • i have trouble doing one pull up and now your tryin to show me all of these complicated ones :P lol

  • dear lord !! that "pull-up / clap" combo looks torturous LOL....don't get me started about the last one....but I could do the first few variations haha

  • I find pull-ups to be kinda fuckin scary, but somehow you made them look so easy, and fun LOL!: )

  • that gym looks sweet. it's hard to find one like that down here in NC w/o paying a pretty penny.

  • holy fml!

Ur variations are for bodybuilders like you.

  • I am so trying that side-to-side pull up, looks so hardcore lol

  • my fat ass can't do those yet...still working on the core with the ab pillow. love the sound effects!

  • Looks fun. I bet I could do it. Although, I would like to get a new pair of lifting gloves first...mine are torn up and I am getting calluses through them...that looks like it'd give you calluses pretty bad :)

  • it's going to be hard for me lol ..

  • this vid is fetish, but nt in a dirty way...lol , actually the 1 with clapping i will need a trampoline under me to do it.... but the one with the dips is wooow , but i needs triceps of steel for it.....btw gr888 vid

  • o ur azz better catch me! i am an extreme novice to pretty much everything u are teaching.
