He looks good. he can thread the neadle, for sure. But in the NFL, he'll need to watch where he's trying to squeeze those passes...a three fot window in college is like throwing into a 9" window in the NFL. He's going to have to learn to make better decisions, or else he'll have a lot of INT's.

But, that being said; I do like his willingness to let the receivers make plays. He gives his men the chance to make the play, and they usually do. His passes are well thrown, and he's accurate.

im not being an asshole, i just havent heard a single person talk about painter for heisman so the heading baffled me. its just some friendly trash talk. while i do think the boilermakers will have their hands full with the ducks, this could potentially be a good game.

its just that painter has to go against one of the toughest secondaries in the nation and without a proven run game for purdue, it could be a lonnng day for painter. best of luck to both teams though. it should be fun

I would say he is an EXTREMELY DARK darkhorse to win the Heisman. He's going to have to win the big games this year against ND, OSU, PSU, and Michigan to even have a chance and he has to perform as well as he did in that Motor City Bowl to get his name out there. He's got the cannon and accuracy to make it, but Orton, Valentine, and Whittington are going to have to step up to the plate for him. BTFU

Bryant was horrid! He could never learn that he always needs to move the ball forward, not towards the sidelines. Too many times did I see Bryant try to make a play out of nothing and end up losing yards.

I will miss Keller though. He was a stud. Hope he does well with the Jets.

As for Painter as a Heisman, I just dont see it. In order for Painter to be truely Heisman, he will have to win the big games. Beating ND, OSU, and Michigan this year would do it for me.

The video says a lot- he plays great versus mid majors and bad teams, but no highlights versus the "big boys". The draft experts are right as are those who are critical of Curtis- He's got a great arm, good size and good feet...but all of that's merely potential until he can put it all together. Here's to him doing so this season, but he's got work to do before he can be mentioned with the other Purdue QB greats, let alone Heisman winners.
