@swchoi89 It will work, but please google "bulldozer" first, it´s even slower than its predecessor it is a complete FAILURE, if you really want AMD go with top of the line Phenom II or go Intel
@moviefact1 will it do it with a high wattage cpu (ex: fx-8150 overclocked) and like 10 fans in addition to a ton of hdds , optical drives, pci expansions, and the 2x 560 ti?
can someone tell me how i would go about plugging fans into this or wether i need to with a fan controller (aerocool 2000) like what needs to be plugged in where thanks :D
im about to make my build i will be getting an nzxt guardian 921 case. i know the cords on this supply is short. would i be ok with the cords for the case im getting?
guy is anyone using the haf 932 with this power suply and if you are can you tell me if the cable are long enought? i have an atx motherboard formula V [AMD]. thanks !
I <3 OCz warrenty, i bought a 4GB kit of OCz Platinum @ 1333Mhz, and when i went to the local RMA center for OCz, they said they didnt have any in stock, so they gave me a kit of 1600Mhz XD ty OCZ!!
@ownbeef I'd go for a PSU with longer cables. My knowledge area is the weakest in PSUs.
Erm, by looking at the sticker rotation order and the length of the cables, it looks like it was designed to be placed in a case with a top-mounted PSU.
Usually cases with bottom-mounted PSUs are expensive, implying that the whole build is going to be expensive. Erm, ask on some forums that's you best bet as I don't know so much about PSUs.
Hmmh, my XFX 650 XXX [Modular] went after 5 months usage. It's got a manufacturer warranty of 5 years. It tripped all the wall sockets on the ground floor as well. Luckily I don't think my other components were damaged, my new 'be quiet! Straight Power E8 CM 680W 80+ Silver [Modular]' arrived today.
GREAT power supply! However: i would recommend a power supply with 4 pci-e power connectors for crossfire which is what i am using with this power supply. Why? Because I needed to use 2 2 molex to pci-e 6 pin connectors. It works definitely (stress tested it) but it's just a little bit clumsy. The cards are 2 eah5850's btw.
Hey everyone, im pretty new to building pcs. I've ordered two msi cyclone gtx 460 and i believe each card has two 6 pin sockets on the back meaning i need four 6pins. is there anyway of getting this psu to run this setup i.e getting some sort of adapter to have more 6pin male plugs?????
@ersen1982 Yes. There are 2 molex connectors to 1 pci-e 6 pin power connector adapters. Which is what I will be using... today. I'm gonna add a second eah5850... wish me luck!
Bad thing about it is that it only has two PCI-E connectors. Anything 650w or over should have four (2x 6+2-pin and 2x 6-pin) because they're meant for high-end usage. The best model of this PSU is the 600w version. If you want a higher-end PSU with support for multiple GPUs I'd look at the Xigmatek MC NRP-MC651 650w, Antec EarthWatts 750w, the Corsair CMPSU-650HX, and the Silverstone ST75F 750w.
I just bought a ModXStream Pro 700W for my latest build. Linus, you are correct: the cables are VERY short. I'm using an Antec 902 case and I have to use extensions for the 24 pin connector, 8 pin connector, and PCI-X connectors.
To everyone interested in buying this product and having decent cable management: I would suggest going up to a Corsair modular power supply. Yes, it is about $50 more, but you'll pay $35 in extensions (plus shipping), so it's more than worth the upgrade.
Or, you can just get the Xigmatek MC-NPR-MC651, which is better than this one and is at the same price and you'd also avoid the cable length problem. Also, it has 4 PCI-E connectors, as opposed to only 2 for the ModXStream Pro.
My 600 watt Modxstream works great very silent smooth and powerful with my I7 920 6gb OCZ platnium DDR3 XFX 5750. Unfortunately my 5750 is giving me gray screens while gaming like many ATI'ers ATI is working on it. As far as the Modxstream I love it! Looks very nice in my custom case love the modulation and the warranty!!!
If they don't submit it for the certification process with ATI then it's not "Crossfire Ready" even if it can work just fine in Crossfire. Same goes for "SLI Ready".
identical to the 600 watt version lol that i have :D. 25 amps on both rails too. So don't buy the 700 buy the 600 at an amazing price. Identical connectors to.
