  • Kinda funny, I bought the 750 watt version of this and it came with twice as many cables, and 2 extra red slots.

  • @JumpStartPause Was thinking the same thing /:

  • how do i know what motherboard is compatibly with this psu

  • @bobbyt912 Dumb question

  • I'm planinng to buy the below:

    Radeon 6950

    AMD Bulldozer 3.6 Ghz Quadcore

    Would this power supply work?

  • @swchoi89 yes

  • @swchoi89 It will work, but please google "bulldozer" first, it´s even slower than its predecessor it is a complete FAILURE, if you really want AMD go with top of the line Phenom II or go Intel

  • @swchoi89 Even a 350 watt power will work

  • @swchoi89 No fucking shit

  • so will this Xfire 2 6970's?

  • @TheGamersHud well amd recommends 750 with the 6990, which is slower (on stock) than 2x 6970s

  • @dli7319

    how about 2 6870's?

  • @TheGamersHud should be fine but you will need adapters

  • I have this one and i wonder if it can stand 2 eva gtx 560 ti ds sc in sli and run motherboard cpu etc.

  • do u think this will work with sli gtx 560 ti?

  • @raddam141 if you're still wondering: yes, it will!

  • @moviefact1 will it do it with a high wattage cpu (ex: fx-8150 overclocked) and like 10 fans in addition to a ton of hdds , optical drives, pci expansions, and the 2x 560 ti?

  • @dli7319 I'd recommend 800watts for safety, make sure you get a gold certification as well

  • can someone tell me how i would go about plugging fans into this or wether i need to with a fan controller (aerocool 2000) like what needs to be plugged in where thanks :D

  • Very exciting ^^ thumbs up if you agree

  • hey is it possible to get longer cables for it?

  • mine died after 1 year gaming :S

  • will this one run amd 1090T 6core with 2 GTX 560's?

  • @napoleon950 Yep, without breaking a sweat.

  • I'm thinking of getting this PSU (well atleast the 600W version), I might even use that bag as a pencil bag! :D

  • My first modular PS! Upgrading to i-2500k, Z68, only GTX460. Antec 300 case (PU on bottom).

  • No ring on the finger means Linus got married in between January and June

  • would they be long enough for the nzxt 410 elite

  • Would this be fine for a 2500k and GTX560Ti system?

  • @SkotchHD Yes.

  • @SkotchHD yes i have the same thing you have :)

  • im about to make my build i will be getting an nzxt guardian 921 case. i know the cords on this supply is short. would i be ok with the cords for the case im getting?

  • @huvaljason I'm also about to buy the NZXT 921 RB and I would like to know if the cords would be fine for that case too!

  • @Shadow24250 Those two should work together with no problems.

  • thanks! great review I am buying one right now.

  • guy is anyone using the haf 932 with this power suply and if you are can you tell me if the cable are long enought? i have an atx motherboard formula V [AMD]. thanks !

  • @zuluwilliam or woud i have to buy extention for it

  • can this power a gtx 580 with a intel core i7 2600?

  • @TheReiito possible, but i think about 800 to 900 is a little bit better

  • @TheReiito

yes, but I would use more.

  • in global the modXstream look REALLY LIKE the fatal1ty 750 watts (my Psu ) in all things

  • does this psu have a lot of fan connectors? I was wondering since my case has a ton of fans lol

  • oh thank god.its a 8 to 6 pin conecter.now thats all i needed to know :3(getting it for my system with a xfx hd 6790(that needs 1/2x 6pin conector)

  • deutch!!(germman) not dutch!(netherlands)

    lol just sayin

  • Will this cables be long enough for the Cooler Mater cm 690 II advanced?

  • is the ocz reliable for psu?

  • where is the pc power and cooling test report?

  • i recently bought the ocz gamextream of 850 watts,

what do you think about this PSU?

  • I <3 OCz warrenty, i bought a 4GB kit of OCz Platinum @ 1333Mhz, and when i went to the local RMA center for OCz, they said they didnt have any in stock, so they gave me a kit of 1600Mhz XD ty OCZ!!

  • what if i have a mid tower with the psu mounted on the bottom?

  • @ownbeef I'd go for a PSU with longer cables. My knowledge area is the weakest in PSUs.

Erm, by looking at the sticker rotation order and the length of the cables, it looks like it was designed to be placed in a case with a top-mounted PSU.

Usually cases with bottom-mounted PSUs are expensive, implying that the whole build is going to be expensive. Erm, ask on some forums that's you best bet as I don't know so much about PSUs.

    Ask YouTube username: Stanbony

  • @AmH032uTuBe Yeah, i bought the Corsair HX 650W instead

  • @ownbeef Good move.

Hmmh, my XFX 650 XXX [Modular] went after 5 months usage. It's got a manufacturer warranty of 5 years. It tripped all the wall sockets on the ground floor as well. Luckily I don't think my other components were damaged, my new 'be quiet! Straight Power E8 CM 680W 80+ Silver [Modular]' arrived today.

  • Would you not recommend this PSU for an Element G Case due to the short power cables?

Or should it not b a problem?

  • GREAT power supply! However: i would recommend a power supply with 4 pci-e power connectors for crossfire which is what i am using with this power supply. Why? Because I needed to use 2 2 molex to pci-e 6 pin connectors. It works definitely (stress tested it) but it's just a little bit clumsy. The cards are 2 eah5850's btw.

  • thnx for this review...I will buy this next week...

  • just ordered my oz psu thanks for the videos Now go review the VisionTek Bigfoot Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card

  • NEVER BUY THIS PSU! POWER CONNECTOR IS SO SHORT THAT CAN NOT CONNECT MOBO WITH PSU. BULLSHIT

  • @Heykelidikilecekadam bullshit, only if you would use a case a normal person could life in.

  • Why does this one have a bottom mounted fan?

  • Hey everyone, im pretty new to building pcs. I've ordered two msi cyclone gtx 460 and i believe each card has two 6 pin sockets on the back meaning i need four 6pins. is there anyway of getting this psu to run this setup i.e getting some sort of adapter to have more 6pin male plugs?????

  • @ersen1982 Yes. There are 2 molex connectors to 1 pci-e 6 pin power connector adapters. Which is what I will be using... today. I'm gonna add a second eah5850... wish me luck!

  • @ersen1982 you can get molex to 6 pin adapters

  • Linus sebastian! Good unboxing. But may i know how long the 8/4 pin atx motherboard plug is?

  • I JUST THOUGHT OF THE BEST THING WAIT FOR IT WAIT FOR IT......A water cooled psu.....awesome right.

  • linus, do you think the cables will be long enough if I fit it in a HAF 922 ? Bottom Mounted by the way.

  • It's a bit unique, half modular and half non modular

haha, i guess that is why it's cheap?

  • Lame, my case has a PSU at the bottom... fuuuu-... And I need an EPS 12v cable, and can't find any good PSU's for my case... cunt waffles.

  • can this handle a i5 750, 460gtx+250gts+7 case fans?

  • can this run EVGA GTX 460 SC SLI and i7 950 OC 4Ghz?

or if not, can this just run EVGA GTX 460 SC SLI and i7 Ghz (NOT OC)?

  • thanx man

  • lol Linus you said Deutsch as Dutch :D

Deutsch is German and I don't like Germany :P

  • @DannyQ2009 lol nederlands XD i mag duitsers best wel hoor

  • can i run two 5770 with this??

  • Can some one tell me if the cables are long enough for the HAF-X?

  • @Bralkins no ... this psu is for mid tower only.

  • CoolerMaster GX 750W PSU or OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular I am really confused ;) thanks

  • @aspiregemstone im in the same boat mate

  • I know:)

  • this one has only 2 6 pin?

  • thanks man!

    *ordering*

  • the motherboard and CPU connectors are supposed to be 18 inches/45 cm, well thats what the mechanical drawing says...

  • exactly how short is it?

  • can it run two gtx 260 in sli?

  • can the cables on this power supply run behind the mother board tray in the cm 690 ii

  • Wow so much features but I prefer the atb7980 psu it is 100% betterer and provides 900% gaming performance with turbo awesomeness!

  • this or the Cooler Master Gamer x 750w?

  • well this psu is well priced considering how well it works

  • nice vid!!!! ty

  • CAN THIS RUN AN ATI 5850?

  • @druu94 well duhh, this is 700W!!!!

  • @druu94 Yes, the 5850 is 150 watts and this is 700 watts. I think this power supply is even overkill for that card

  • They have a mecanical drawing pdf on their website which tells you the length of each cable...

  • Well at least it's not a Rosewill, lol

  • rosewill is not bad even the rose will 1000 watts beat this lol

  • lol, I've heard some bad things about Rosewill, I'd prefer to go with Corsair (Which is made by Seasonic) - Best power supply manufacturer Bar-None.

  • im getting a mid tower which needs the power supply on the bottom, are the cables gonna be too short??

  • im worried about this too

  • Wow those are some seriously short cables there, and somewhat low +12V output, thanks for the unboxing though :).

  • im getting this :]

  • 3 year OCZ warranty that is legendary? The box on my OCZ 550W says "5 year warranty."

  • im gunna build an i5 system with this thing

  • are the screws ergonomic?

  • I love those bags!

    I have a 550W Fatal1ty from OCZ and they have that 2

  • @Boonoman will the fatality 550 handle 2 5770 in crossfire???

  • @hacker13sacker I dont know, i should buy a 600/650W for such setup just to be sure, but i think it will work

  • when I got mine, I saw 40C as ultra-high and I was like what the...?

So thanks for clearing that and explaining how that is ultra-high.

  • Got a 600W OCZ ModXStream Pro for $30 on boxing day.

  • nice

  • Holy shit, congratz!

  • I just bought this. It is great!

  • can I apply for the cameraman job?

  • Bad thing about it is that it only has two PCI-E connectors. Anything 650w or over should have four (2x 6+2-pin and 2x 6-pin) because they're meant for high-end usage. The best model of this PSU is the 600w version. If you want a higher-end PSU with support for multiple GPUs I'd look at the Xigmatek MC NRP-MC651 650w, Antec EarthWatts 750w, the Corsair CMPSU-650HX, and the Silverstone ST75F 750w.

  • I just bought a ModXStream Pro 700W for my latest build. Linus, you are correct: the cables are VERY short. I'm using an Antec 902 case and I have to use extensions for the 24 pin connector, 8 pin connector, and PCI-X connectors.

To everyone interested in buying this product and having decent cable management: I would suggest going up to a Corsair modular power supply. Yes, it is about $50 more, but you'll pay $35 in extensions (plus shipping), so it's more than worth the upgrade.

  • @aeroblastoff

Or, you can just get the Xigmatek MC-NPR-MC651, which is better than this one and is at the same price and you'd also avoid the cable length problem. Also, it has 4 PCI-E connectors, as opposed to only 2 for the ModXStream Pro.

  • nice psu i got one!

  • Deutch is german for german, not dutch

  • how old are you ??

  • My 600 watt Modxstream works great very silent smooth and powerful with my I7 920 6gb OCZ platnium DDR3 XFX 5750. Unfortunately my 5750 is giving me gray screens while gaming like many ATI'ers ATI is working on it. As far as the Modxstream I love it! Looks very nice in my custom case love the modulation and the warranty!!!

  • Would it void the warranty if I personally sleeved the cables myself?

  • I've personally used OCZ's awesome warranty service to RMA a sleeved power supply.

Just make sure that the problem with the PSU is not DUE to your sleeving.

  • thank you, that makes sense for OCZ to do that.

  • I'm using OCZ Z-Series 550W ;D

    All good

  • if a psu is SLi ready, how can it not be Crossfire ready, its not like they use different connectors..

  • If they don't submit it for the certification process with ATI then it's not "Crossfire Ready" even if it can work just fine in Crossfire. Same goes for "SLI Ready".

  • @LinusTechTips but does it work with ati cards now or not cuz i say it will work but are u really sure i want to buy this one for 6870x2

  • @LinusTechTips Even for both? Help!!!!

  • My psu! It's served me well for a year now.

  • I've got the 700W OCZ Stealth X Stream and would highly recommend it. I'll always stick with OCZ for a lot of things.

  • identical to the 600 watt version lol that i have :D. 25 amps on both rails too. So don't buy the 700 buy the 600 at an amazing price. Identical connectors to.

  • love your videos but how the heck do you get all these products to open them up?

  • he work for ncix... he lend them, opens them, and then he closes them again, so that ncix can sell them as a review sample (a little less expensive) ;)

tho some of them he buys himself.

  • that doesn't make any sense, if ncix gave him these review samples they would NOT be posted on his personal channel but rather ncix's channel.

  • Um, he's not posting the reviews here, so your argument is wrong right off the bat. He posts the reviews on NCIX's channels; he posts unboxings and first look videos here.

  • k do u have any idea how long its been since ncix posted any videos? they posted their first one today in like a month. i've never seen 1 of his unboxed products on ncix

  • Actually the NCIXcom channel has had 3 videos this month.

  • @LinusTechTips can it take 2 x 5870? i have amd phenom II 965, 4GB ddr3, 2 harddrives, asus mb... or just 1 5870?

  • awesome ,i need one シ

  • OMG.. Linus is at his GOLDEN AGE! You're AWESOME!

  • do you pay for all the products? or do you receive them?

  • @Xtefanno He works at a Computer & Components reseller. ( NCIX in Canada )

  • I really like your videos, but i hate that the videos are viewable even if the were not completely converted/processed

  • do a barrel roll

  • he's on a roll :D
