differences between staffordshire bull terrier and american staffordshire terrier

My late AmStaff was bred to show standard and was closer to the Staffie than some of those tanks. He was around 20" at the withers and went 60# most of his life. An AmStaff has way more endurance and is a superior athlete. I can't believe the shit that dog could do. I took him to a forest where they were logging one Saturday when no one was there and he went nuts running atop the length of the fallen trees. He could swim while playing fetch for longer than I wanted at times; hours. Buster.

we have a Staffy and just love him! he's the most loving and most comical dog we've ever had! I'm not sure we'd ever have any other breed. Of course it doesn't hurt that my sister is a breeder!

I know nothing at all about dogs, except my Dad has an English Staffy - it's small, built like a hollow tank ( her chest echoes), and is friendly and daft. Those American jobs in the film I must admit I'd feel like crossing the street to avoid. Sorry to sound like a wuss..
