I love you guys, but this weeks topic is kind of depressing me, because I live a very homophobic community. It doesn't help my case that I'm one of two people out in my high school of 1500 kids, so I get the brunt of the preudice.

I live in Louisville KY (no we dont all speak hillbilly) and we have 5 gay bars here and 1 lesbian bar 1 for the S&M kind of people (stand and model) and 5 for those that are socail bars they are all down town. sex shops are near the str8 strip clubs and gay businesses tend to linger around the highlands so we are pretty scattered around here. we do have a law to protect us against being fired or denied houseing for being gay but thats just in the city not the hole state

yeah my EX drug me around Davey street when I still dating him and visited him in Vancouver ( a couple years ago before you need an Passport or enhanced DL to cross the border which was OK until he tried to drag me into a sex shop! (That one pissed me off) For me that was not fun, them again I don't go to the local gay bar, and I don't like crowds especially pushy ones, I'm used to the Bellingham, it's nice an laid back not pushy and most people don't look twice a two guys holding hands etc.

I think when you are around the so called normal life all the time and grow up being treated bad for being different its nice to go some place where your the majority. Back in the day...haha, cute. :) That seems to be the trend here in T.O. too. A lot of str8 couples coming to gay clubs (the music in a lot of str8 clubs sucks big time) and a lot of str8 clubs hosting gay nights. We do have the advantage in larger cities for acceptance, or at least, tolerance. I showed my men's discussion group "Small Town Gay Bar" to open their minds to the realities outside of our city borders. You did Ernie pretty well. :) Have a fab week!
