This is my favorite song and the photo montage made it better. To all the negative remarks I see of postings regarding the military, I say ,"let them be" let them show how ignorant they are. That is what our men and women are fighting for. For them to show their stupidity. They played this song at my brother's funeral. He was 3 months old when he passed away, and any time I hear bagpipes I think about him. He died before I was born, but somehow I still feel him around me sometimes. I never met him, but I know he's one of my guardian angels. I love and Miss you Robert John Hershey.

I am not a soldier but my father and my grandfather were serving soldiers. I have lost very close friends in afghanistan and iraq. Friends I grew up with, friends who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I am Scottish and proud to hear the music from our pipes. I am also proud to have known what I think are some of the most incredible soldiers, my father, grandfather and the close friends that I have lost. If you won't stand behind our troops, stand in front of them.

@hawickman to be perfectly honest, the only really unique thing the USA ever came up with was Jazz and even that was rooted in West African musical tradition. As much as I like the USA, and happy that I have dual citizenship with the USA, the desire to claim everything can be truly grating.

My family is from Scotland. I really enjoyed your post. I read some of the comments and yes it is about God's graphics grace. However, the pictures are beautiful and they do make me think of His mercy. Where would we be if it wasn't for His mercy and all of those who have gone on before us.
