@renumeratedfrog Its amazing how americans fell for a cheap empty community organizer. One of the dumbest people in American politics. I have a feeling this mistake will be corrected in Nov.
@nixonplumber ... As opposed to what...a pageant model from Alaska and an old man who didn't know what he was doing? I'll take the "cheap empty community organizer," thank you.
@emantabrizi McCain had more experience in the Senate, and Palin had executive leadership epxerience from two years running a State Government, but that doesn't matter, does it? Obama had...money. Lots of it.
In any case, back to the subject at hand. Mr. Reagan was a different kind of person, no real doubt in my mind, and I think this scene shows it.
If we ever needed a president like Ronald Reagan, it is now. This nation is in such peril, and Barack Hussein Obama mmmmm....mmmmmm.....mmmmmm..... is happily and gleefully presiding over the downfall of it. A lopeared radical and a botox king guiding us through the waters of N. Korea, a nuclear Iran...we are arranging deckchairs on the Titanic, and there is a stupid yardape at the wheel.
Back in the 1980s, people wondered what the big deal was about Reagan, yet now that today's candidates lack so much of it, it's quite clear. The man had dignity and class on a level we haven't seen since. Those who claimed not to like him always cited his policies, but the man played fair and tough. A truly great leader.
@seanvogt221 Sorry, Ron Paul will never be president....maybe by the time you are actually old enough to vote a candidate will come along that will legalize pot for you.
Everyone, watch the 1948 movie "State of the Union" with Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy and Angela Lounsbury. It is typical Hollywood "Mr Smith Goes to Hollywood" type pap, BUT, toward the end of the movie Spencer Tracy says "Don't cut me off, I paid for that microphone!" I wonder if the Gipper was recalling that line !!

@252925j We dont hate people with balls ,Teddy Roosevelt the most badass president in U.S history, was a liberal, FDR was a liberal, and Jonhnson was a liberal too ;) we dont like reagan because he fucked up our economy and fucked the working class too. We need another Teddy Roosevelt or another FDR true champios of the little guys and working class, not a reagan who just pretended to while he was in bed with corporations and big business.
@delxart Theodore Roosevelt was republican the entire time he was President... I know theres more too it then just that(starter of Progressive / bullmoose party after he was out of office) but could you atleast get your facts right?
@ssjwes Youre an idiot x) I know he was a republican but he was a LIBERAL. I never said he was a democrat. Did you realize that the Democratic party was once conservative and the Republicans were once a liberal party. I know youre little brain might find that too confusing, because today the Republicans are on the right and the Democrats are liberals.
President Regan was the best President in the United States that I can remember. thats when things happen. The bad news is business is my cost and busienss does not pay the bills nor the Dentist who recieves no Govt. paycheck. Things happened when reagan was president not now. Out of gas is my paycheck. Busienss is costing the govt. to much in the USA. What Happened to the new deal?
They said pay taxes and still Business tax deducts there cost costumer cost and employee cost. And I pay taxes land as well go to hell hang first private business secotor who said they paid.
@MegaELECTRICEYE mujahideen actually, not Al-Queda. It's only a good thing if we pretend it's an obscure democrat called Charlie Willson and he's played by Tom Hanks, but if a hero to the right does it, then it was the cause of 9/11.
The corporate/family elitists - HIRED AN ACTOR to look you in the eye and lie to you : Establish extreme tax preference for THEN, perpetuate bankruptcy, illegal war/s directly against Congress and arms deals [WMD’s], Negotiate WTO and NAFTA - ...WITH A STRAIGHT FACE - and divisive, arrogant, perverse fear-based pseudo-patriotism - wrapped in a flag !
Lead to a corp./govt. Oligarchy - benefiting a10 % of the citizens !
With overwhelming electoral support ! Fut the wuck !
His ‘-failed policies’- are still being used against the majority- ... for ‘-little or no taxes’- and ‘-taxpayer paid subsidies’- to the wealthiest businesses and families, and -‘taxpayer subsidized exportation of industries/jobs’-
Cutting education, unemployment, collective bargaining, veterans benefits, etc. ... but continue giving taxpayer money [1/4 T$ /yr.] to the people - WHO HIRED THE ACTOR ... and are supporting the propaganda campaign to continue it.
Nobody seems to be amazed by the -‘NEED-‘ to lie, exaggerate and -‘make shit up’- MSU ! ... about Reagan
.... To cover for repeating the same -‘robber baron’- policies, that contributed to the 1st Repub. Depression .... and are getting the same results now .... !
Mr. Green/ got to ahead of himself.....(Breen) acted and got treated like an asshole. Gov. Reagan's campain did as usual rent the mike with the campaingn monies. So Mr. Breen should not begin the rules before all is agreed. He started too fast and thought he was the man... uh uh....Reagan was the man.
@heironymousbach you show your ignorance with that statement..Reagan gave us the greatest economic expansion in history. He ended the misery that was the Carter years. He brought down the Berlin Wall.He stood up to the Communist because he knew they were cowards. The disaster sir sits in the White House right now.Under this failed man we are seeing the destuction of America with his failed economic policies.Unbearable crippling debt.An economic recovery so weak it's shameful.Refute this if you can
I remember this meeting. I was in the audience. President Reagan felt EVERY candidate had a right to participate in the discussion. He decided to pay for this debate because he felt he would have some control. When he made the statement "I am paying for this mic" That is when President Reagan won my vote.
Apologies, Bush was running against Reagan---and had the clout. Ranking member of House (R) and CIA Director. I was like in 4th grade. But should have known. I apologize to the wonks out there. Of course as usual the underling gets the sidecar...(VP) Dont care what Mondale says...It's a shitty job but someone has to do it.....like Alexander Haige lol.
Apologizes, Bush was running against Reagan---and had the clout.
Again, George H.W. Bush was in this video....I did not know he was running against Reagan, I thought he was there as a supportor. Near ending with black military style glasses is GBush. Can anyone give historic reference? I know the histor about Mr. Green/Breen but dont get why Bush was there.
Bush was running against Reagan in the '80 primary and did well in his home base of New England. It looks like to me the moderator was a pro-Bushie, and hense, wasn't allowing Reagan to speak.
I can't believe I was ever a registered "Democrat"... I was lost in the sauce during my younger years! I was lied too and thought Republicans were “bad” to put it in simple terms. Thanks for the public education you lying Democrats; I’ve sense had to relearn many things as far as history and what the real truths are. I've righted myself now, and will continue to do everything in my power to stop the Liberals.
@ColtsAndrew: you have already shown that you are not able to solidly debate why Republicans are "bad"
JM: Yes I did. What, did you think that by just saying I didn't show why they are bad that you could get away with that? This isn't a Star Wars movie....."The Force" doesn't really exist. Since you didn't even attempt to debate, I take that as your surrender. Thanks for playing.
Mr. President had that Irish sense of humor but he had that Irish temper too. I could see that Irish flush getting up in his face. RIP Mr President but know that we'll take you back if God was willing.
Don't mess with Reagan. He looked like he was ready to kick the crap out of somebody. He was very serene but if you got him mad he kicked butt! Rest in peace Mr. President.
Reagan was quoted as saying.....it might have even been at this very event shown in the video. Reagan said, "I'm going to turn the word 'Liberal' into a dirty word." ...and thus bitterly divided the nation forever more. Reagan was the anti-crist as far as America is concerned. The bush cabal left America in a smoldering ruins, and that is because he practiced typical failed republican voodoo economics.
@JetMechMA yeah, it was that. Reagan said that and the whole country just went to hell. it wasnt the 15% inflation, the 10% unemployment, 21% interest rates or the iran hostage crisis, no, it was that quote. liberal was a dirty word way before Reagan came on the scene; always has been, always will be
JM: ALL those things existed because of the Watergate scandal. Nixon TOTALLY blew people's faith in the government by being a fucking underhanded CRIMINAL! Ford pardoned his criminal republican buddies. Carter had to come along and try to work in the cesspool that the republicans left behind. Carter got blamed for everything caused by the totally corrupt and anti-American communist republicans.
@JetMechMA Anti-American? Please tell what you mean by Ronald Reagan and Anti-American. When you can give me a REASONABLE answer I may no longer think of you as a three year old girl who is spoiled by her liberal hippie tree hugging parents who are truly anti-American.
@hotbhive: Please tell what you mean by Ronald Reagan and Anti-American.
JM: As I said, Reagan intensified the political divide....to the Nth degree! God damn him to hell for that. Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers and thus renewed the republican attack on labor. God DAMN him to hell for THAT. Reagan actually brokered NAFTA, before handing it off to Bush sr, who was the first to sign the letter of intent on NAFTA. Republicans passed NAFTA while the majority of Dems voted against it.
@JetMechMA the ATC union was on strike, moron. when you dont show up for work you get fired. Reagan brought down unemployment and inflation in four years and created 30 million new jobs. he was more for the working man than carter clinton obama and both bushes combined. read your history and stop getting it from some left wing sorry ass fraud.
JM: Reagan created NAFTA and handed it down to his stooge Bush sr. republiscum introduced NAFTA into Congress as a bill and while it was a majority of republicans who passed NAFTA, the majority of those who voted against it were Democrats. As a working man ...I have no choice. I MUST vote for the ones who side with ME. Get it? I support those who support ME. The majority who vote agaisnt outsourcing are Dems.
@Texfield91: CLINTON signed NAFTA into law in 1993. LOOK THAT UP.
JM: NAFTA was created by republicans. Bush sr was the first to sign it. republicans entered NAFTA into Congress as a bill. While the majority of those voting for NAFTA were republicans, the majority voting against NAFTA were Democrats. You can never change the fact that NAFTA is a republican thing.
@chopperpilot5 ...you've probably never read up on Reagan, and what went on in his eight years. Reagan was the guy who started the class warfare agendas...the rich got super rich while the lower classes lost more and more. Mich is not a communist, he is probably referring to Reaganeconomics (trickle down economics), when he spoke of Reagan's reckless nature.
@caseycollison all sounds good to me. Now we have a president making our country in even mor debt, and making us like the ussr! i will not let out president do this to us. Oh and he won by a landslide in both elections. must have done something good there. Also, the cold war would be still going on today even if chinoble happened. yes I know my history, and i'll stand by my opinion. reagan is the best president we ever had and will have (lets hope newt gingrich runs against that socialist huh?).
@chopperpilot5 ...the cold war would not be going on, because the USSR was hiding the fact that it was in financial ruin for almost ten years prior to their falling. As for Obama trying to run us like USSR, in what way? He just compromised heavily with the Repubs, yet you still can't give the guy props. Newt Gingrich is a joke, and to have that right wing nut would turn off anyone resting in the middle...it would be like Michael Moore running.
@chopperpilot5 ...so which part did Reagan steer us in the right direction. Bush had to give up Reagan's reckless way. Mitt Romney has even been quoted as saying that he would never run like Reagan. Seeing how your history is a sentence long, I am going to continue to doubt your intelligence on the subject. Do some homework on what Reagan did...I guess you also support how he funded his Contra Wars...CIA became the biggest drug dealer.
@caseycollison okay, obviously YOU'VE never read up on Reagan ( and i dont mean a book written by some progressive retard) EVERYONE'S income rose during Reagan's 8 years, why the hell else would he have been reelected with a 49 state landslide, genius?
@chopperpilot5 ...in what way was Mich communist. I would call that more American than the way you seem to blindly blindly. If you do not know everything about who you are supporting, then ignorance is an upgrade of what you actually are.
obama and all the intellectual muslim-loving race-baiting assholes he hangs out with couldn't lick the lint off the balls of this man. Oh God-where has my great country gone?
Don't mess with the gipper !!! If you would see a moment like this today it would be Obama at the mic and he would say. someone else paid for this microphone but It's mine !!! It takes a Carter to get a Reagan .com
Hey John Anderson is back there clapping (gray haired dude). he ran as Republican Third party after he lost the primary to Reagan. I wanted him to win but I was still only 17 so couldn't vote (maybe 16, lol). He wanted pot legalized. He got like 3 % of the national vote and was considered a major boost to Independent movements. Thank God Reagan beat Carter, lol.
@verbusen ...trickle down economics, in a nuttshell: Give the wealthiest the finest champagne and then hope they piss some droplets down to the lower classes. Reagan was corporate's butt boy///
Nice memories... By that time I was making money with the metod posted at ez-casino(dot)com (I don't know if it's still there), but I became almost rich, now I live in the Bahamas :D
Watch the video again nearly to the end. One of a couple of gentlemen didn't stand up and clap and I swear it looks exacty like George H. W. Bush. (the old man Bush) He was wearing the old school black glasses. Of course this was New Hampshire and Reagan did not have a running mate yet. Was that actually him?
Hey, good ol' Bob Dole, standing for Reagan...Bush sitting like the turd that he was, the presumed annointed of the Republican party. This was a great moment for independent politics.
Good old Reagan--I agree about putting him on Mt Rushmore. It's a real shame he didn't get in there when he was younger, though, since he was already doddering a bit at the end of that last term.
i like how he stands up like he's about to do something big...lol awesome

@252925j We dont hate people with balls ,Teddy Roosevelt the most badass president in U.S history, was a liberal, FDR was a liberal, and Jonhnson was a liberal too ;) we dont like reagan because he fucked up our economy and fucked the working class too. We need another Teddy Roosevelt or another FDR true champios of the little guys and working class, not a reagan who just pretended to while he was in bed with corporations and big business.
delxart 8 months ago
@delxart Theodore Roosevelt was republican the entire time he was President... I know theres more too it then just that(starter of Progressive / bullmoose party after he was out of office) but could you atleast get your facts right?
ssjwes 7 months ago
@ssjwes Youre an idiot x) I know he was a republican but he was a LIBERAL. I never said he was a democrat. Did you realize that the Democratic party was once conservative and the Republicans were once a liberal party. I know youre little brain might find that too confusing, because today the Republicans are on the right and the Democrats are liberals.

I remember this meeting. I was in the audience. President Reagan felt EVERY candidate had a right to participate in the discussion. He decided to pay for this debate because he felt he would have some control. When he made the statement "I am paying for this mic" That is when President Reagan won my vote.

JetMechMA 1 year ago
@JetMechMA yeah, it was that. Reagan said that and the whole country just went to hell. it wasnt the 15% inflation, the 10% unemployment, 21% interest rates or the iran hostage crisis, no, it was that quote. liberal was a dirty word way before Reagan came on the scene; always has been, always will be

@Texfield91: Reagan brought down unemployment

@chopperpilot5 ...you've probably never read up on Reagan, and what went on in his eight years. Reagan was the guy who started the class warfare agendas...the rich got super rich while the lower classes lost more and more. Mich is not a communist, he is probably referring to Reaganeconomics (trickle down economics), when he spoke of Reagan's reckless nature.
caseycollison 1 year ago
@caseycollison all sounds good to me. Now we have a president making our country in even mor debt, and making us like the ussr! i will not let out president do this to us. Oh and he won by a landslide in both elections. must have done something good there. Also, the cold war would be still going on today even if chinoble happened. yes I know my history, and i'll stand by my opinion. reagan is the best president we ever had and will have (lets hope newt gingrich runs against that socialist huh?).
chopperpilot5 1 year ago
@chopperpilot5 ...the cold war would not be going on, because the USSR was hiding the fact that it was in financial ruin for almost ten years prior to their falling. As for Obama trying to run us like USSR, in what way? He just compromised heavily with the Repubs, yet you still can't give the guy props. Newt Gingrich is a joke, and to have that right wing nut would turn off anyone resting in the middle...it would be like Michael Moore running.
caseycollison 1 year ago
