  • Basically the Enlighten 630 looks a lot more like Lego set # 10133-1: BNSF GP-38 Locomotive.

The Maersk locomotive is a superdetailed Lego model only surpassed by some fantastic MOC's.

  • the reason the Maersk train's bigger because it's based off an SD40-2 loco while the UP loco based off a GP-38 loco the reason I know for the Maesk's based off that is because the front and back handrails are further away from the nose and engine back if you don't believe me look at a picture of those locos.

  • The Enlighten 630 I ordered didn't even come with an engine!

  • @Dreadneck What do you mean that it did not come with an engine? If you follow the link on this video, it shows me doing a speed build of this locomotive which shows everything this set comes with, also if you look around on my channel, you will see a video where I show how to motorize any Enlighten locomotive using LEGO power functions.

  • now can that go on the lego set and can u put the lego engine on it and where can u get one off

cause u will save a lot like he said if so

  • @rchangey Yes, it goes perfectly on the LEGO tracks, and if you look at some of my other LEGO train videos, I show a lot of different Enlighten engines running on LEGO track and LEGO trains running on Enlighten track. Also, some of the Enlighten engines are big enough to motorized with LEGO power functions, and for the others I motorized them with a power car like I did with my LEGO Hogwarts Express; I have videos showing all that too.

  • In despite, UP train should be a nice additional wagon for Maersk train.

I make that in reverse for transform my 1985's steam 12V motorised locomotive on a Diesel one with the pieces of a wagon-crane and postal wagon. ^^

  • Did you ever buy SLUBAN bricks?

  • @manoman0 No, are they any good?

  • @BeanMeister22 Yes, they're actually quite good, they click on each other precisely, hold tight together. They lack the finishing quality of LEGO but they're a real alternative.

  • @manoman0 Thanks, I will look into buying some and I'll make a review video on them.

  • cool

  • Lego is so over priced

  • Lego does sell individual engines online

  • @cprulesryan Where? All I've ever seen is people selling used LEGO engines for a big profit.

  • No it was a dark green diseal loco and what aircraft carrier!? Sounds cool

  • Thanks could u do some more vids on the enlighten locos there is that green one can't remember what it's called? Or maybe order some of the army sets the tanks and stuff. Keep up the good work.

  • @coley43211 Do you mean the green Happy Christmas locomotive? And I've thought about buying some of the army sets, but right now I'm still building the big aircraft carrier.

  • Can someone tell me this I have orderd 2 of these engines and coal/grain car but I live in uk and from what I was reading some in Finland was seized? Could this happen to mine as far as I know it is currently shipping and should be here soon?

  • @coley43211 I don't really have an answer for that, but I can tell you that there is a big difference between a container full of items destined to a retailer, and a small shipment being sent to a private party. From what I've seen, every Enlighten shipment I've received, has been shipped as a gift, rather than as a purchase, so I would not be overly concerned about losing your items.

Later today I'll upload a new video of the Enlighten UP locomotive; I'll show it being built.

  • I do not like the piracy aspect behind this cheap chineese junk products. LEGO is treating it's employees, the enviroment and the customers very fair and spends a lot of money in designing new bricks and products and keeps the quality on an outstanding level. This makes the product more expensive but it is worth every single cent.

  • please tell me the site where i can find the enlighten engine

  • @Jimjohm8 Look in the description of this video, there is a link to A2Z Toys where I get mine from.

  • the UP engine looks like the BNSF GP38-2

  • @spdaylight1 Yes, but a slightly poor copy of it :)

  • i agree lego sholud make lego make union pacific

  • I bought the Freight Steam Locomotive, log car and tanker.

    Great review!

  • @captainkmanOFP857 Thanks, and I just put the log car and the tankcar together the other day; I really like the tankcar.

  • the mearks train is most likely a dash-9 and the union pacific engine is a GP-38 or something like that

  • got both ;)

  • well truely you could probably find a maersk engine on craigslist and ebay for a lot cheaper

  • @hobo12381 I agree that we could probably find a used one online, but I bet it won't be a lot cheaper. If you find one for under $30, and it's legit, send me a PM and I'll buy it.

  • I'm kinda glad there are more compatible kits for Lego. Sometimes Lego just doesn't listen to what we want.

  • @BroBryce2009 pretty much all the time

  • @BroBryce2009 Yes, LEGO is known for being a bit too snobby. Whenever they are publically asked about their VERY high prices, they always say that their quality is worth the higher price, and that you are buying something that you can pass down to your kids someday. But really, what kid wants an old used LEGO set with with half its pieces missing? LEGO sets are like the socket sets in my tool box; pieces get lost way before they ever break :)

  • Comment removed

  • @BeanMeister22 I'm sorry but LEGO isn't snobby at all, and take a lot, and I mean A LOT, of care for their customers and they always listen, more than most companies, I have no idea why you would say that. Their prices are High but it depends on the set, and Yes nearly all the majority of customers would rather QUALITY, rather than QUANTITY. Also Maersk is a company that LEGO has had a contract with that's why they did that, and its European. Enlighten also got sued by LEGO in Court.

  • @BeanMeister22 Also you simply go to ebay or Bricklink to buy another Engine.

  • @BeanMeister22 Also Enlighten is an Illegal Copy of LEGO, as they have stolen the Mini-Fig Design, and after being sued by LEGO in the European High Court, and LEGO managed to seize 53,000 Enlighten Set's and destroy them from an Illegal Shipping Container, I suspect that Enlighten will get sued again and may be forced to Jail or even stopping their entire production.

  • @AmazingGalaxy That move by the European High Court, was nothing more than a protectionist measure to prop up a European company who has trouble competing fairly in the world market. It should also be considered, that one of the reasons for the destruction of those products, was the company's failure to import them properly. As for the mini-figs, there are several other companies who make mini-figs like that, and they are not all in China; Brickarms makes mini-figs here in the US.

  • @BeanMeister22 You clearly don't know what your saying. A large shipment of LEGO-like products named "Enlighten" was seized by Finland customs authorities. The packaging of Enlighten products was similar to official LEGO packaging. Their Chinese manufacturer failed to appear in court, and thus LEGO won a default action ordering the destruction of the shipment. Lego Group footed the bill for the disposal of the 54,000 sets, citing a desire to protect consumers from potentially inferior products.

  • @BeanMeister22 Also Brickarms is merely a costumed Website which formulates its self in decorating the Mini-Figs not actually producing them in Molding Machines and selling them to the World.

  • @BeanMeister22 Also LEGO has over 600 Patients for Designs in their LEGO set's thus enabling no other Company to copy certain Brick Designs that they have, so no other company will ever be the same as LEGO. Another Company; Coko was ordered to cease manufacture of the infringing bricks, publish a formal apology in the Beijing Daily, and pay a small fee in damages to Interlego. That is why not many if only Mega Bloks makes Bricks because LEGO is the only competitor, as its so renowned.

  • I checked out the A2Z site and was ready to buy some army lego clones, but when the shipping doubled the price I decided against it. Is there another brick selling site that you know of that might have cheaper shipping?

  • @kkehoe5 Yes the shipping charges are high, but that's because you are paying for them to be shipped from Hong Kong. When I compared this shipping charges against what I pay for shipping at the LEGO website, this shipping is about 3.5 times more. But since Enlighten sets cost so much less than LEGO sets, even with the high shipping costs it's still a lot cheaper to by Enlighten. Currently I don't know of anyone else who imports these, and if I did, their shipping charges would be the same too.

  • @kkehoe5 Shipping from Hong Kong is pretty high, but it is still cheaper than buying LEGO. And these are items that LEGO does not sell, so if you want more locomotives and railcars for your LEGO railroad, this is the only way to buy these items. And since no one sells these in North America, there is really no way that there will be cheaper postage on these items.

  • failed on the the maersk side -__-"

  • no lego

  • nice word 'stout'

there is loads of chatter about these enlighten trains, you would be stupid to touch lego from what i see here unless you have money to burn

  • If its not lego ( correction)

  • Its funny how u guys say u wont buy enlighten ur true lego fans , i am aswell and i wont mix and match. But there are people out there that cant aford lego trains. It a persons choice to buy what they want. So please dont knock on it just because its lego. Lol i am a lego hardcore fan but i think i would try the enlighten engines out. So my question is where did u purchase these railcars and engines ?

  • @lorbin1 I bought all mine online at A2Z Toys, the link is in the description of this video. So far I have found a few of these Enlighten locomotives and railcars to be as good as comparable LEGO ones, and in a couple of instances the Enlighten one was better than the LEGO one, but not in this case. I have the Emerald Night, the Hogwarts Express, the Pasenger Train, the Western Train Chase, and the Maersk train set. I like these Enlighten units because I want LEGO trains longer than 2 cars :)

  • *I will even not buy 50 of these Enlighten even for free ...

  • @COMMANDERFOX31 And that's fine with me, but the purpose of these Enlighten videos I'm making, is to show LEGO railroaders that there is a way for them to get extra locomotives and railcars for their LEGO trains, and I hope these videos show the level of quality and value that some of these Enlighten sets have.

  • Enlighten is a total fakure of LEGO , I will not buy even 50 of these Enlighten Engines

Because the pieces of Enlighten , Cant connect so good with LEGO , Trust me i tried .

  • @COMMANDERFOX31 So far I have put together 18 Enlighten engines and railcars, and I've not had a problem with them. They are about the same quality as the MegaBloks Halo or Probuilder series; not quite as good as LEGO, but pretty close. And if you are not going to buy any Enlighten engines, then you will always have very short LEGO trains, because LEGO does not sell individual engines or railcars, and LEGO train sets only come with a couple of railcars at best.

  • @BeanMeister22 Lego Makes the price 200 times higher , But are the rails of Eng , Could be connected with LEGOS?

  • @COMMANDERFOX31 Yes, in one of my other Enlighten review videos I show how well the track fits together; they are the exact same, except for the color.

  • So does it sell in stores?

  • @echopichu123 No, none of these Enlighten sets are sold in any stores in the United States. But they can be ordered online through the link I have in the description of this video.

  • @BeanMeister22 Ya i checked, with shipping i thiink its too expensive.

  • so i guess the best thing on the a2ztoystore is the trains?

  • @LegoMaster1298 No, they also have some really cool Navy ships, I just ordered the aircraft carrier, and they have some neat looking pirate ships too. One thing they do have which is a bit different, but it's still really cool, is they have some ancient Chinese buildings. And everything has the same type of low pricing that you see here with the trains.

  • @BeanMeister22 yeah, i dont have much money so i want to know for that what i am getting good quality and does not come with missing or broken pieces

  • @LegoMaster1298 So far, I've only built the Enlighten trains, and they were about the same as building MegaBloks Halo sets. And so far, I've not had any pieces missing from those sets, and like LEGO there were plenty of small extra pieces left over. Now someday I do expect to get one with a piece missing; I've had 3 LEGO sets with missing pieces, so I know it does happen. And when the time comes that I get an Enlighten set with a missing piece, I'll just order it from LEGO Pick-a-Brick.

  • @BeanMeister22 yeah if that would happen to me its not that easy because i live 8 hours away from the nearest lego store so i would just have to find the piece in my lego bin

  • i like the lego one better it has better quality

  • @LegoMaster1298 Yes, the LEGO engine wins in looks and quality, but the Union Pacific engine wins on value; it's a bit lower quality and does not look as good, but it costs a whole lot less, so I still recommend buying it, I bought 2 of them myself. But if you have the extra money, the Maersk train is the way to go.

  • The enlighten isn't as detailed goood review though.

  • @KIHstudios Yes, the LEGO one is a lot better looking and the price reflects this, but for the price of $9.99, I can't really knock the Enlighten engine too much.

  • nice

  • @maxamax2003 Thanks, maybe someday LEGO will make a Union Pacific engine again. But until then, I'll just have to settle with this Enlighten engine instead.
