i'm from the north so i listen mainly to hindi songs. however, i stumbled upon this by chance and i must say that this singer has done a very good job, especially at his age.

and of course, illayaraja is a genius.

beautiful rendition by Jayachandran (the original playback singer for this song). He is simple, humble from the heart singer,unlike the some star monkeys elsewhere in the sow. Fantastic Illayaraja piece. Brilliant selection of his unique voice to match the mood of this song. Somebody comments about shruthi...Music! its not science... there were rears in my eyes after many years towards the end of the song.

yea this is a great song sung by a good singer.

i just wish that the current music of northern india could be more like souther india. especially in the sense that we're starting to lose our classical heritage and singers nowadays are not even classically trained. Contrast that with Lataji, Rafi sahab, Manna Dey, Ashaji, and Yesudas.

nice song, but some other singer could have sung it. jayachandran's voice is gone now. jayachandran sang it beautifully in the original one, but i prefer the spb version ''jabilli kosam akasamalle'' in telugu. it was much better. truth is that spb can bring more expression than jayachandran or yesudas.

Dudes..Jaychandran is getting old as well..its true that he couldn't sing his own song the way he sang it originally..but believe me the music and the song is awesome.Its a tribute to illayaraja and an honor for te singer as well..I guess we need to understand that.
