I'm from Iowa and the day after this interview, we put Mike Huckabee on the map with a win in the first presidential contest of 2008. I'm very proud of that fact. He did come from nowhere with little money and he got where he did because of his genuine personality and common sensical views. I hope he runs again. I was unsure whom to vote for. I am a Naturalized (legal, 100%) citizen. After I looked at the national budget, I paniced. Then I look at the national debt, I paniced. Then I did some VERY SIMPLE math and decided that Ron Paul is the ONLY hope.
Huckabee won in Iowa but in all the other primary's he has come in third place. I don't think Huckabee has national appeal. Could it be that more people today are more focused on the real issues that affect their lives? I wonder how he'd be doing right now if he were the Republican nominee. Head-to-head hypotheticals back in January showed him getting crushed by Obama; however, he wouldn't have been nearly as hurt by the economic crisis as McCain, and he probably wouldn't have made as boneheaded a VP choice.

Are you kidding to say Obama is more qualified that Huckabee? Huckabee was governor of Arkansas (same job Bill Clinton had for only 4 yrs) and before that he was lt. governor for 3 yrs. He is very qualified and Obama is a first term senator who has been running for president the entire time he was in the senate.
