  • Brookies are definately the most beautiful fish

  • Trophy Brook Trout! Nice catch!

  • wow awesome brookies well we in maine are lucky to have lots of natural squaretails to catch but they arent that big but sometimes when you get to a flowage that aint been hit hard you can catch some bigguns no other fish compares :)

  • oh and ya, thats a brookie, how can you mistake that for a cuthroat??? Listen to the canadian lads its a "speck"

  • the hyproglo - why would you mount a spawner like that? jackass. Take a hi res pic , measure it, length and girth and have a replica made of your trout. The big ones need to be released. Its a shame something gets killed for bragging rights. I like to eat my catch once and a while just like the next guy. The big guys need to be released!!!!!

  • that fish would look awesome in my frying pan

  • i doubt this is in Montana

  • Mighty Purty

  • im just tinkin NOOOOOOOO DONT THROW THEM BACK!!! PUTEM ON THE WALL!!!

  • Those are one of my favorite fish to eat!

  • these are all arctic char not brook trout

  • @xxMeggieRose really you need to look up an arctic char haha!!! these are some of the best examples of brook trout there are.... real healthy ones at that...

  • do you know which remote stream it was might have been the indian creek

  • Boring!

  • I have an 8lb speckle trout ( brookie) on the wall. I caught it many years ago ice fishing In Sudbury Ontario. Never again did i ever come close to catching a big one like that so was glad i got it mounted.

  • Dude im 13 and I have been fishing in Brooks since o was 7 I normally only catch 7-11 inch trout but twice I got lucky last year I caught a 16 inch trout and last week me and my buddy went to a brook I never fished before and landed a 20 inch brook trout mat as fat as that one though

  • @poklop34 if you fish the bow river in calgary alberta, you could easily land 30 incher or more.

  • @cutiekazoe10 ......do u catch them on bait,fly,lures,or worms ?

i mainly use a worm and a small weight on a light action rod i catch loads of trout but only 7-10 inches exept in the fall i get 11 12 and 13 inchers .....i have also recently taken up fly fishing and i really like it......but like i said on the east coast the biggest trout i caught were 15,16,and 20 inches

  • @poklop34 I mainly just use lures. Like you, I have started to fly fish but im terrible at it.

  • thats awesome! and the music from 'a river somewhere' is a nice touch!

  • what's the music called

  • @nitrousair its called 'a river somewhere' by liam bradley, from the fly fishing TV series "a river somewhere"

  • Actually it's a char...but who's counting ;)

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • trout seem to get uglier the more it grows....

but hey. gotta love the ugly ones.

  • thats a cut throut not a brooky XD

  • @MrYughiohPlayer123 you're retarded. It's a brook trout

  • thats a cut throut not a brooky u dumb ass XD

  • @MrYughiohPlayer123 You oughta come delete that comment, cuz it's surely a brook trout...dumb ass

  • same riff as "a river somewhere" with rob sitch :D

  • @nyrbsamoht lolz beat me to it

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful!!!

nice of You to let him go...

  • me buddy and i caught about 30 brooies in one day out in the adk mountains

  • My line just broke looking at those brooks. I had to sit down and have a beer to calm myself down. com'on april

  • Those are some damn fine brookies, We have all kinds of them up my way in Newfoundland, lots of the sea run verity as well. They have to be my favourite trout species to catch on the fly and are second only to Atlantics in my books.

  • fatties

  • Sweet!

  • those fish got some shoulders great video

  • Was that caught on reg. tackle or fly? (if fly then your my hero!) If it was fly, what pattern?

  • Looks like you released it. If you did i applaud you.

  • wow never mind 4 to 5 pound brooke trout.......10 pounders are common up here in thunder bay.......people always call me asking for a once in a lifetime fishing trip to get 4-5 pound specks and i laugh at em and say how about ten........i dont no why but the specks in the north coast of superior and its tributaries are all massive.....well i no why....years of isolation and running up rivers like the nipogon to spawn and live

  • Brookies are so good to eat.

  • i live in colorado im 13 please let me know where this stream is located!

  • Hey wheres this stream at?

  • There is a little spot that's not on a map here in Colorado that holds some of the most beautiful brookies you'd ever lay your eyes on. Plan on going up there soon. Any Coloradans that want to know where it is, get a hold of me.

  • @germanchocolate1982 I'll pee in ur butt!

  • @seattlehawkins HUH??

  • @germanchocolate1982 i live in colorado i am 13 i would love to know where a big brookie stream is, i sometimes fish in the uncompugre river (speld it rong sorry) and i hooked up to a nice brown or bow last weekend he started juping like crasy under some low haging braches and got louse of the fly i was upset but i caught a small rainbow a litte later :)

  • wow... its a salmon... not a brookie HAHAHA

  • @123supra321 yea they are, the bigger ones are anadromous brookies(they have the hooked beaks like salmon), and the smaller ones are regular river brookies (they have a regular freshwater fish mouth), any halfwitted fisherman knows this, lol

  • @DJRocks20 well sorry i havent caught every fish in the river bud, i go trout fishing to get outta the house, i walk in the woods about 1km and go fishing in a little natural spring fed brook, "halfwitted" ? a fisherman is a fisherman bud just because you catch a 16in brookie dont mean your a "pro" fisherman like my father told me "in the right spot at the right time" im 17 and i go fishing because i enjoy the outdoors i dont believe in "good or bad fisherman"

  • @123supra321 You're obviously not very educated when it comes to fish :)

  • @123supra321 you sir are a truly stupid individual

  • damn man. never caught one over a pound lol them littel brookies don't get that big very often!

  • Dam inbreeded trout :P

  • hmm looking at the girth of the fish and the sterile looking stream, I am thinking it's a lake grown brookie in prespawn. Now I just need to narrow it down to a shallow proudctive lake that holds brookies. You know how they love an old coachman streamer. Any other speculations out there?

  • WHY WOULD HE RELEASE IT

  • @crkcocoa The larger brook trout can produce more eggs than a smaller one, so the big ones are the best spawners, which produce more fish for people to catch and enjoy. Conservation, so there is still fish to catch 100 years from now (hopefully).

  • its crazy on how much beauty can be squeezed into one fish! :]

  • @Fisherboyh yea buddy=)

  • yep, that'll make you shit your pants

  • Them are some truely beatiful fish. Gotta love them bright orange fins.

  • Only caught 1 hard fish to catch over in australia

  • brook trout on steroiids lol

  • OH, MY, LORD! Hump back, Hook jaw, Flame"n Brookie's!! Makes a grown man cry in his scotch!!!

  • @kanukster gives you scotch and water

  • insane...

  • Nice brook trout! those are like swimming footballs!

  • such a beautiful looking fish

  • you shouldve ate it :) jk lol

  • I'm not sure now, montana fish&wildlife are trying to get rid of brook trout because they only want native fish to the their state. But when I went fishing up in the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana I know that there are quite a bit of brookies in the streams and creeks. Big ones! 16 Inches in a creek! Beautiful place to fish, espiecally on the bottom of the rockies! So I imagine if there is some in montana theres more in other places too!

  • @Makoyimakan we have the same issues here in Ontario, Canada. Except is browns and rainbows that are not native here. In quite a few areas they have wiped out the brook trout population. We used to have big brookies here, but that was long ago.

  • @fishfinderflyfishing - not entirely true that the rainbows and browns "wiped" them out. The big brooks you are talking about are the "coasters" that came from the lake. The populations where already being wiped out by 19th

century by industrialization, over fishing and habitat destruction. They are very sensitive to oxygen in water and even the ph. All the browns and bows did was swallow up an already dwindling fishery.

  • Not entirely true. The big brooks you are talking about are the "coasters" from the lakes. This fishery was already on a downward spiral from the early 19th century. Industrialization, habitat destruction, pollution, and over fishing were mainly to blame. brookies are very sensitive to the oxygen in the water, and even the ph. pollution ruins both. All the browns did was gobble up the already dwindling fishery. Same thing that happened in lake ontario to the atlantic salmon. overfishing/pollutio

  • Are there many brookies in Montana streams?

  • ya man but they are all pretty small, this vid shows some really nice onces though!

  • at a tackle shop i went to they have a 10 pound brookie haha its huge

  • you bet! caught 20 in one day here in Montana!

  • nice fish. im 13 n catch like 14 inchers n thats big for a brookie.

  • That fish is a char- go ahead, look it up. "Brook trout" , and "Bull Trout" are both char.

  • they are char but if you call them that, people might think that you are talking about arctic char witch is a different fish.

  • Nice brook trout, crazy hump on backs kind of like a pink.

  • those are gold fishys

  • or not

  • You don't know what you're talking about, definitely Brook Trout.

  • Cool Video

  • nope just ugly brookies

  • nice catch

  • beautiful stream at 0:37

  • what do u use for bait?

  • \ Henry's Lake in Idaho has our state record at almost 8 lbs. The hatchery on the lake says there is a 10 ponder waiting to be caught . I have caught couple 4 pounders and netted a 5 ponder for a friend of mine . The lake record though is a 20 pound hybrid rainbow and cutthroat .

  • I would never ever tell anyone were you are fishing. You have found a rare place and it will be overrun with Utah residence in no time if the word gets out.

  • Those are some nice brookies. I have been video taping brook trout fishing on our excursions and at our camp, but haven't filmed any that big yet, although we have had someone catch a 20 incher a couple of times. Check out some of our videos or slideshows.

  • Nice brookies.Montana??? I thought trout like that only existed in the far north. I've gotten a couple of 4lbers look kinda like that. Native specks have gotta be the nicest looking fish not to many can compare. NICE CATCH

  • gorgeous fish just gorgeous

  • there not old because of the bend on the nose (kype) they get that when mating and you can also see there fall colors

  • you can tell when they are old because they look like a salmon in the nose

  • What did you catch him on?

  • would like to catch one, just one, like that

  • Look like salmon to me at the start?

  • man what a dinner you would have if you cooked that fish up..

  • beautiful fish dude

  • this is the same fish

  • there is just something about catching native fish in native streams that just makes ya fell....old timey.

  • I could be mistaken but I dont think Eastern Brook Trout are a indigenous to the western U.S.. Most western U.S. species are cutthroats, then theirs like redbands, goldens, and like a couple others. Not trying to be a dick just trying to be informative. I love Brookies though, when they get that big they brawl! Especially on light tackle.

  • The way you worded that was pretty dick-esque.

  • Bellissimo!

    Extraordinary fish!

  • man I hate brookies, whenever I catch them I usually throw them on the bank. jk
