  • This video is such BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A baby gets a rash because its not being changed as often as it should. You SHOULD change the diaper ever 2-3 hours and not every 6!!! In theory you dont have to change disposables as often because there is a chemical in there that absorbs like 100 times its weight, but that doesn't change the fact that the diaper is soiled! So if you do it correctly you should NEVER get a rash. Such bull. What a disgraceful video!

  • there are SO many things WRONG with this video! i swear it is set up to make CDing mommies fail! if you are thinking about cloth diapering than look at more videos! following this one will only cause you trouble!

  • Do not flush everything you can!!! I own a plumbing company. Well...unless you want to give us your $! There are so many things wrong with this video.

  • suchh a cute baby<333 :]

  • who noticed water running at 2:10 ?

  • That baby... is ridiculously adorable :D -3-3

  • I'm new to cd and this video says to use zinc oxide cream which I know is water resistant so would not work with CDs. And that's weird "studies show cloth diapered babies have rashes more than disposable"

  • I have a hard time believing that sposies heal the rash because of the cloth diapers! My son had more rashes in disposables!

  • "never leave your baby alone on the changing table" SHUT UP U NOT THE BOSS OF ME FOOL!

  • I find the only time a baby get diaper rash with cloth, is if they sit in it for a long time, and same with throw away diapers too. If you change them quickly and was a wipe even on pee, there should be rash outbreaks. but i only baby sit babies, and its what i have found out from babysitting for years and seeing the same kid every day for months.

  • Was this made by a disposable diaper company to promote failure? I will take my cloth diaper advice from this video, as soon as I take breastfeeding advice from formula companies. Pffft.

  • Gdiaper with no snip in liner = NOT WATER PROOF

Ugh. Stupid stupid stupid. On so many levels.

  • What study:? I have used cloth for 6.5 years and NEVER had a rash...

  • This baby must feel violated

  • Please do thorough research before posting "how-to" videos on the internet. This is how people get horrible advice!

Cloth diapering causes LESS diapers rashes. You also can not use zinc oxide creams in a cloth diaper unless you don't want anything absorbed in them. Also, the cloth diaper system that you used has a plastic snap in liner than you failed to insert into the cover. Please consider researching this topic and trying again!

  • Male 45-54

    Male 35-44

    Male 55-64

    the fuck o.O

  • @xXMariaLovesYouXx I guess it's the mums who already know how to do this xD Dad's need a little more help haha

  • This video is terrible! My daughter has much less problems with rashes now that we've switched to cloth diapers. The rash cream advice is Wrong! There are cloth safe rash creams but zinc is no one. This sounds like it was made by a disposable diaper company.

  • I have always heard that cloth diapers prevent rashes. Plus it makes more sense not to use disposable diapers. I think disposables are for lazy parents who would rather their child sit in their own urine then change them more frequently.

  • That looks like a gdiaper.

Watch what and how much diaper cream you use with cloth. Zinc oxide creams can make even freshly washed diapers resist moisture.

  • OMG What BS! What studies? Well if you wait 4 days to change a baby's diaper, yeah, you're going to get a lot of rashes. If you change it every 2-3 hours for an older baby or more for a newborn, there should be no problem unless it's the detergent. Many babies can be allergic to the chemicals in disposables and break out in severe rashes or TSS. And who the heck uses that many wipes on a pee diaper? I use cloth wipes and just use one for pee since it's thick and then I wash my hands in the sink.

  • Studies?!? What "studies" show that cloth diapered babies experience more rashes? My mom tried to use 'sposies on us and we got such severe rashes she had to use cloth to spare us the misery. I had three kids in disposable diapers and rashes were so exceedingly common I just assumed getting them was normal. Baby #4 has been in cloth for over 15 months so far, full-time, and the one and only rash he's had so far was from an antibiotic. CLOTH DIAPERS ROCK. This video however, is pathetic. :P

  • The stupidity of this video makes me cringe.

  • DON'T use diaper rash creams as some one else mentioned! There are many other options. This video is ridiculous. There are a ton of cloth diapering forums where mommies will give you one on one help if you need it.

  • @rosyshalice

its true, my grandmother used corn starch on all of her kids, and it was even used on me as a baby. My diaper rash was gone in two days! Plus its a helluvah lot cheaper than creams and powders.

  • This video should be called ' how to be a cheapscate mother'

  • this video is junk, disposable diapers cause fewer rashes?!? as if.

  • aw hailey!

  • I agree I Switched my daughter to cloth about 5 months ago and not one rash since!

  • SHE IS LIEK THE CUTEST THING EVER!!!

  • We don't use ANY disposible pants on our kids..EVER!! Cloth is more work but is better in so many ways..

  • WTF!!! cloth cause more rashes? since when???

This video is worthless...If you are thinking of using cloth DON'T watch this video...find a different one...this video is bad for cloth diaper moms...the fold they use will cause blow outs...and using rash creams will ruin your stash!

IMO its set up to make CD moms fail!

  • no no no No creams with cloth diapers!!!!!

if baby has a rash use a thick prefold with a snappie and NO cover so the bottom can breath!

  • This video is worthless. I didn't even get to see how to fold the diaper around the damn kid. My time was wasted watching this shit. Now I'm pissed and my kid is too. I'm going to make a video to show you "HOW" to go fuck yourself...

  • Put your baby on a safe surface?! I didn't know...I thought I had to put her over a cliff to change. Thanks :D

  • so cute! she looks like a little teddy bear

  • Don't use diaper rash cream on a cloth diaper! A cloth diapered baby should not need it, and diaper rash cream can ruin the absorbency of the cotton!

  • Aww! Cue little girl!

  • 11 steps?! Haha! Cloth diapers are nowhere near as complicated as this video leads you to believe. And that unprepped Gerber prefold isn't going to hold in anything! Wow, way to really undermine cloth diapering...

  • 0:14

  • @rameen007 You are so immature.

  • in a few weeks its my birth day =)

  • how could i download?

  • This is the most ridiculously inaccurate video about cloth diapering.

  • Worst how-to on cloth diapering EVER! It's so complicated and misleading! And way to go using an unprepped prefold, g-diaper with no waterproof layer, and unnecessary (and illadvised) diaper cream! SHEESH!

  • Lets see how many things can she do wrong?? A gdiaper cover with no linner. A un-prepped PF will leak for sure. Pockets like Bungenius are as popular as PF and covers and much easier. They go on and off JUST like a sposie.

Babies in cloth get FEWER rashes not more!! That's why there's no need for creams that will coat a cloth diaper preventing it from absorbing.

  • Lame. Stop mutilating your boys, Americans! The national circ rate is 52% and dropping (as low as the early-20's in the westcoast) and it's a human rights violation and stupid to do so. w w w .StopTheCut . o r g (or MGMBill)

  • More diaper rashes from CLOTH DIAPERS! What a crock of crap! It's cloth for crying out loud. Howcast I think you need to remake this video!

  • im pretty sure pampers paid for this commercial making cloth diapering look SOOO complicated. gag. something is wrong with this whole thing.

  • thats crap. most infant rashes are caused by the chlorine in the diapers. its a known skin irritant. you should specify not get chlorine free diapers... because parent seeing this will just be switching from one rash to another.

  • Wow. I've been using cloth diapers for 6 years with three babies, and I've never changed a diaper like this. And what's up with the g pants with no liner? Weird.

  • This is by far the WORST cloth diaper tutorial I have ever seen. First, do not use Desitin or any of those thick white diaper creams with cloth diapers. There are many cloth friendly ointments and some even use coconut oil or olive oil. Rashes are only common if you don't change your baby. Lastly, there are MANY more options for cloth diapering than prefolds and a cover. These aren't hard but there are more modern versions.

  • I want to use cloth dipers and it didn't look to hard to get them ready it's just steps that make it look confusing and such, but i wouldnt use cream with a cloth diper.

  • Uhh yeah, disposables would cause my son to get irritated skin, and then switching to a cloth (I didn't even need ointment) alone would make it go away. And don't use diaper rash ointment unless it's safe for cloth diapers! Seriously, get your facts straight before you post a how to video, please.

  • Cloth wipes are an option too. This video is so incorrect and too complicated. Just get a bumGenius! or other all-in-one diaper. And cloth diapered babies are not prone to rashes. Just air the baby out if they're getting red. Don't put that cream on our diaper! It'll ruin it. So so wrong.

  • :12 Britney Spears shot XD

  • This video is useless...you should NEVER use a zing based diaper cream, it will make your diaper less absorbent. And, they make it look so so so difficult to change a prefold, it is NOT that cumbersome, and is even easier if you use a diaper service quality prefold. Do these people even know anything about cloth diapers??

  • 0:14 baby vagina

  • She basically used the cloth diaper as a baby kotex O.o

    SMH.

  • Wow using a G-diaper without the inner liner! Nice, that would leak instantly! looks like the people doing this video had no idea what they were doing! Cloth diapered babies are less prone to diaper rash!

  • they never show you pooey nappies. i dont have a baby yet but will defiently be using cloth nappies, just wish someone would video a pooey cloth nappy so i have an idea what to do. im sure i'll learn when i do have a bub but would be cool to see how its done anyways.

  • @organicsab

There are diaper sprayers for the solid poop. But, if your baby is exclusively breastfed you don't have to do any spraying. :) Come to BabyCenter Community, we have a group.

  • I have to say, this video was off-base. I used cloth diapers for years, and my son NEVER had a diaper rash. Also, I folded the diapers in ways that prevented blowouts, so my kid's clothes almost never got dirty. For really good information on how to fold a flat cloth diaper like the ones in this video, go to the Tiny Tots website and view their tutorials.

  • If your baby gets a rash more frequently in cloth diapers than in disposables, you're doing it wrong!

  • there is so much wrong with this crap 'tutorial' Step 12, don't use zinc with cloth, lesson 13, you guys don't know anything about cloth diapering,

Hi, there is such thing as cloth wipes too...Christ she used enough wipes to diaper that baby using just the wipes.

  • This is a pretty bad tutorial. "Try disposables if your baby has frequent rash from cloth diapers" Way to bash what you're trying to promote, and with incorrect information. Cloth rarely gives a diaper rash, that is one of the perks for using cloth. That diaper rash cream will destroy the absorbency as well. The prefold she was using but it looked thin as paper, they were not a good representation at all.

I would have liked it better if she was using cloth wipes as well.

  • Actually cloth diapered babies are LESS likely to have diaper rash. Don't use that cream. You'll ruin them.

  • haha, you will need: a baby in need of changing.. hmm now where can i find one of those :)

  • @Villain1000 your sick

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew

  • @bobo3064 what´s disgusting about changing a diaper?

i find it more disgusting to not change and let the baby have a mess in the diaper.

    grow up !

  • @Villain1000 wtf is wrong with u pervert!

  • Really?! I need a baby in need of changing? Oh god, thanks for telling me!

And no! (excuse the caps) DO NOT USE DIAPER RASH CREAMS IF YOU'RE USING CLOTH DIAPERS!! You'll mess with the absorbency horribly! Some cloth diaper stores may have CD safe ointments...i always used a few drops GSE in a few TBSP water. I didn't think it'd work, but it did. It was the only thing that worked for my son. Plus it has a hundred other uses,

  • @fallingidols1 You're so right falling this video is so off disposable diapers cause diaper rash more often than cloth not the other way around. And you're never ever supposed to use diaper cream on cloth diapers! Never!!!!

  • @fallingidols1

    I'm dumb, what's GSE? Google isn't helping

  • @Hadra568 I've never heard of it either, but I googled "diapers gse" and the top hit was some kind of diapering glossary that said it stood for "Grapefruit seed extract" I don't know if that's right or not, but it seems plausible...

  • @MrKatyeah Yo had better luck than me :)

  • @Hadra568 Lol, The way things change on the internet I think it's entirely possible that that site did not exist 5 months ago... But don't worry, you're definately not dumb for not knowing what it stood for. I have spent countless hours researching cloth diapering and have never even heard of it before...

  • wow. the related videos in order are: how to apply blush, how to tell your boyfriend he is a bed kisser, and how to calm a newborn.

howcast never ceases to amaze me.

  • mamas just starting cloth diapering, check out my channel for my vlog about being a beginner cloth-diaperer! :) i'm hoping some info i share can be helpful.

  • People switch to cloth because disposables cause rashes, and dont let the skin breath. If that bit about rashed and cloth is actually from a study, it was probably a study funded by the sposie companies.

  • Very informative

  • Wow how inappropriate

  • I have a son which uses cloth diapers.Sure, its a real pain in the ass to change diapers, but this is too much work, this video i mean then.

  • this video is helpful but it didnt answer any ways to keep from diaper rash with a cloth diaper

  • Use alot of cream even when baby doesn't have a diaper rash yet as preventive treatment, also make sure to change your babies diaper as soon as it has become soiled, other then that there isn't much you can do

  • Looks like ways to much wrk.

  • to be fair, a lot of the steps here are just common sense things you won't have to pay attention to, such as not leaving your baby alone on a changing table or washing your hands after you're done.

  • what kind of cover can anyone recommend that doesn't need pins like this one?

  • babies r us has different diaper covers that are available in great styles and colors.

  • Try smartipants, they are a one size diaper that uses snaps.

  • The "trivia" about babies in Elizabethan times is complete hogwash. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

  • True!! sorry but check a history book or look it up on the web. Sorry

  • cute ^^

But I am pretty sure getting rashes is more likely on disposable diapers due to the plasticness

  • My son has been in cloth diapers for over a year and never once had a diaper rash. Spoise diapers cause rashes.

  • @k10day i just got through speaking to my mother the other day about stay at home moms and this topic came up where someone's baby had a rash in plastic diapers. My mom took the plastic diapers away, let the baby go free for a bit and put cloth diapers on her. the rash nearly instantly went away.

That whole plastic is better than cloth is propaganda and it is completely false. guess they want to get advertising dollars.

  • omg like this guy told us the\at he hates babys... i was like what???? SHUT UP GAY FAG!

  • 3:06 = so cute!

  • i knoww

  • When I was a baby I wore cloth diapers, but they were never put on like that. They were always pinned on. Never saw this way before.

  • who cares?
