hmm this isnt exactly ghetto recording considering your using "industry standard" mics. I would say using cheap vocal mics and Audacity would be ghetto.
Hey I don't know if you already answer this question to other youtuber yet or not, if you already did please answer it again in a simple and easy way to understand. My question is I got 2 mic setup already and video myself playing a song. So the video and the mic are in a difference setup, so how can i get that sound with mic that I already play go into the video I just recorded?
Great tutorial and very specific info... only problem is this video seems to be only putting out audio through the left side... whether its a stereo mix out one side, or just the actual left audio i dont know. but it sorta makes the whole video pointless since i cant see how your overheads are working with the whole kit.
@oN1NJ4o depends on the mic you get. Usually not unless you get a bundle though. I just got a set of MXL 603s off amazon that came with two stands, two cables, two 603s, and two shock mounts.
Theres another mic under the snare, you said you werent using an under mic? Also you look like Jeremys music buddy who takes coke everyday from Peep Show, oh and your snare drum is amazing, Edge snares are the best on the planet, and lastly, dont take what I said offensively, your a cool bloke! Good vid, love the honesty!
@wilfan12 the other mic (beta 57a under the snare) is not plugged in. There were loads of other mics in that room, but only the 4 I show you were plugged into the interface and recorded, as you'll see in the mixing videos. Great spot though! And about the superhanz thing, yeah it gets said a lot. Great. haha
I had the same beard as you but my girlfriend said it looked stupid so I shaved it. Well, now that I've seen someone else with it, it doesn't look stupid. I'm growing it back! Thanks for the inspiration. And the tutorial was fantastic too.. Cheers!
Im not familiar with the SE3 mic's, what didn't you like about the C1000's vs the SE3s? How do they compare to something like a SM81 or a C414?
Have you ever used the original D12 instead of the D112? Im not a huge fan of the 112, too much attack for my taste. I've been using the B52 but thinking about picking up the Audix D6
Good vid's man! First Ive seen from you, hopefully there are more!
@moconnellsyr c1000s are worse in every way. Literally every way. But 414s are a different league to both c1000s and SE3s. Haven't used an sm81 or D12 so can't comment.
But regarding kick mics I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that for the hard rock stuff, it barely matters what you're using as the tracks are so heavily processed. And obviously for guys who trigger 100% wet, you're not hearing *any* of the original sound anyway!
dont say "ghetto" its offensive to us niggaz

to find the BPM in logic:
Inserts --> Metering --> BPM Counter --> Mono.
It works well for songs using a click. Not-so-much for fluctuating BPM's.
