  • ...but I want them to feel pain...

  • i know this is jacked up but deathrow inmates shouldnt donate or should it be a mandate. this now opens a market for organs sounds familiar china and india. sounds like a great idea but we are human and have made bad decisions in the past this isnt a good one you open a market maybe a judgement either or may be decided by blood type

  • @ranger082469 are you saying chinese and indian people aren't human ?

  • @derickhaywood where in my response indicated they wernt human

  • Interesting proposal said here... It'll end their lifes without pain and serve the society...

Unlike zwatcher, I don't think it should be mandatory to remove an extra organ of someone... (maybe only bone marrow, because it could grow back again)

  • The only drawback I can see from using a criminal's organs would be their damage. How many criminals out there have used hard drugs or destroyed their bodies with alcohol?

  • @Chimokko

This is a very good observation.

I would say that these organs will be examined to ensure that there isn't a problem with it. I'm sure we cannot guarantee that every deathrow inmate has flawless organs that can be given away when after death.

  • Why waste those delicious organs?

  • Why would you want an organ from an inmate? Good idea but seriously

  • SICK

  • Why harvest the organs of inmates wen we can learn how to clone the organs themselves? Or how about we harvest the organs of anyone who dies?

  • Comment removed

  • Or, just stop killing prisoners, But encourage everyone to become organ donors.

That would lead to the most people not being dead.

  • THIRTY EIGHT STATES.

  • Let's not. How about America joins the 20th century and abolishes the death penalty like the rest of the civilized world did decades ago. Too much to ask for Americans to be decent human beings?

  • This is a baaaaad idea. Just read Larry Niven's The Jigsaw Man or A Gift From Earth. The Chinese are already executing prisoners and selling their organs to foreigners on demand: you make a reservation, buy your plane ticket, and the execution takes place after you arrive so the kidney you are getting is piping hot from the oven.

  • But doesn't it seem that if we did this then we would be giving organ donation negative connotation.

Like rather then it being a noble thing to have a sticker on your drivers license stating that you are an organ donor, it will be viewed instead as if you are bad then the consequence is that they kill you take your organs. This just seems like a slippery slope waiting to happen.

Of corse if the death row inmates want there organs donated then they should be allowed. Just tread with caution

  • Very good idea. And while we're at it... all the fat get's wasted. Let us make soap off it. We can give it to other inmates for example. Also once they cremated, let us use their ashes to fertilize the crops. We are wasting these resources now... Granted, not so precious as internal organs but the same idea... These criminals will at least after death contribute to society. /s

... damn I hope that the author of this video was a troll...

  • @cmarivs You make no valid argument. You're just bitching.

  • You're trolling right?

  • Everyone knows that if you receive a serial killer's organs you will become a serial killer too!

  • How about ending the death penalty?

  • People don't realize how execution began. The communities were small. Confining a prisoner was too much of a burden on the working community who had to feed and house him while he just sat there. Execution rid the community of his expense. It was more expedient to just kill him. Now we can afford to confine him for life, yet we still execute when it doesn't prevent violent crimes. Life imprisonment w/o parole is much more serious! When you're locked up knowing you'll never leave is pure hell!

  • Following the "Mayan Protocol" of harvesting organs from the condemned violates the physicians oath to "Do No Harm". There are also religious beliefs which state a person may not go to heaven or and afterlife without all his body parts. Morally, this is unsound as it reduces a person to being only the sum of his parts. He ceases to be human anymore and instead becomes translated into anatomical capital. This is morally and philosophically repugnant.

  • @GREGHIGGS1

amazing how far this has gotten from the original point "letting death row inmates who WANT TO DONATE THEIR organs, do so"

yes i know i helped derail the point, MY point is that prison is an EPIC FAIL and we need ssome kind of change to make it work because as is it is a crime refinery where little criminals become BIG criminals

  • @Bunechunk

and how many of those speeders cause accidents? fatal accidents that more often then not they themselves walk away from unharmed?

how many rapists, wife beaters, gang bangers and thieves get out of prison and go right back to the same or worse criminal behavior?

obviously the threat of jail time doesn't impress them, lets see if being rendered for parts will.

and even if it doesn't, they will still be saving countless lives.

  • i totally agree with this!

    1. its the best way to kill a killer. by making him feel the pain he's dealt hundreds.

    2. making this waste of space useful to society by harvesting his organs

    3. its like raising cattle, if you're a crazy death row inmate then we harvest your organs.

now the only thing that is a weird thought is when someone does use their organs, how weird will it be to say you have a convicted murderers heart as your own?

  • I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE HAIR TRANSPLANT BRO

    I TOLD YOU DOG!!

  • im sorry but y isnt this being done yet?

  • Yes, I would be saying that, because I'm considering what this actually means for all of the innocent people who have ever been wrongly convicted of a crime. Have you made this consideration?

  • @CarlaGlade well he did say if they donated it

  • @CarlaGlade If you're innocent but going to be executed anyway you might as well donate your organs.

  • @Prolite959 Sorry, I don't agree. That would be horrible. I hope no one you know ends up on death row.

  • @CarlaGlade I'm missing your logic. Being innocent and ending up getting executed is no joke, that sucks massive dick. But they might as well save someone else. I hope no one I know ends up on death row also, but they should donate their organs to save someone else's life if possible.

  • @CarlaGlade

let me ask you this, if you knew you were going to die and there was nothing you could do to prevent it, wouldn't you want to at least give the gift of live to someone else?

  • @CarlaGlade

good point, which is why the prosecution, judge and jury should be held responsible for these kinds of mistakes

if the prosecuting attorney knew HIS organs were on the line for withholding evidence to get a conviction, maybe he wouldn't risk it.

  • I agree with deathrow inmates donating their organs.. But think about it. Wouldn't judges be pressured into putting more people on deathrow? Tbh.. Anyone who kills someone should be on deathrow. Eye for an eye. Then that person who killed someone can give life by donating their organs. It's that Simple. <3

  • @xXWraithSoldierXx

there is already pressure to convict

the judge and prosecuting attorney are both dependent on a high conviction rate to advance in their careers

  • This will only lead to more people being executed on death row!!! This is wrong!!!

  • @CarlaGlade

You wouldn't be saying that if you one of your loved ones was murder by some sick fuck.

  • @CarlaGlade

not doing it leads to innocent people dying on organ recipient row from a shortage of organs.

  • Since there are about fifty executions a year or so, I just don't want this to be thought of as a panacea. And, of course, since the libs want to do away with capital punishment, the argument might be moot even though the vast majority of Americans are in favor of it.

  • Wow, I don't think even the most broad minded individuals would have even considered such a thing. This concept really needs to be taken into practice, think of all the human life we could save. But, you know us Americans (and sorry if this is in bad taste) we hate to recycle.

  • WOW CREAPY... THEN EVERY INMATE WOULD BE KILL THOUGH LOL...

  • @govtiscool You sound like the dumbest person that could ever exist.

  • why just death row inmates, lets make organ donation a punishment for other non lethal crimes (extra organs only of course)

20 years to life PLUS lose a kidney

    10 years AND a cornea

2nd time for beating your wife half to death, 5 years AND a lung (see if you have the air to do that a 3rd time)

3 years jail, 5 probation AND some bone marrow.

these scum bags are taking from society, let's make them give back

  • @zwatcher just laughed so hard. i love it. mwuhahahah.

  • @zwatcher

I hope you're joking, that's fucking ridiculous. Save your frankenstein shit for the crazy house. How bout if you get a speeding ticket you lose an organ too..right?! Wrong, fuck that.

  • @Bunechunk

    why should i be joking?

we have a major shortage of viable organs and an overabundance of lead footed road hogs.

it seems like a solution waiting to happen.

do you have any idea how man good people die each year because they are on a long list for a donor organ and there are not enough organs to fill that list?

how many mothers, fathers, sons, daughters DIE because there are not enough organs?

meanwhile criminals go to prison and pump iron, coming out bigger, stronger, meaner

  • @zwatcher Following you it would be also just right to cut a thieves hand off. Hand transplantation is possible. Maybe america could adopt the sharia as well...

Congrats for the stupidest idea i found yet on YouTube. People like you are willingly bringing the civil society back to the middle ages.

  • @zwatcher its opinions like this that make me wonder if this is really such a good idea.

  • @zwatcher fool you want to lose your lungs and some bones for a fight somebody attacked you and you accidently break his nose leg arm whatever you go to jail and you get bones taken out of you fool i think thats very very possible in your stupid country like america your country has zero thinking

  • @zwatcher Uneducated immature people like you are harms to well thought out solutions like this

  • Perhaps we should stop killing people altogether. Just a thought.

  • @mellowmark1 If we did that our nation would fall apart even more then it already does. The amount of money put into prisons is enormous. Paying for washing of their clothes, new clothes, pillows, pillow cases, bed mattresses, bed sheets, food, electricity, water, Tvs, work out equipment, and any other form of entertainment they might have. It all costs big bucks and prisons in america are overflowing. Who wants to pay for a killers living expenses through tax dollars? No one, kill the bastards.

  • @demonblooduchiha

The financial costs to taxpayers of capital punishment is several times that of keeping someone in prison for life

  • @mellowmark1 Death sentences are given to those who would otherwise have life sentences. So you're telling me a lethal injection costs more than that persons entire life costs?

  • @demonblooduchiha

Yes, it's a fact it costs more to kill a prisoner than house him for life. Don't take my word for it though, do your own research.

  • @demonblooduchiha

this is why prisons are so jacked up anyway "Tvs, work out equipment, and any other form of entertainment they might have"

WTF are we providing them with tv's, work out equipment and other entertainment for?

isn't the idea of prison to punish the criminal for their misdeeds?

  • @mellowmark1

tell that to the murderers on death row

  • @mellowmark1

i'm guessing you and yours have never been the victim of a violent crime.

now used to be i'd agree with you but frankly many of the people coming out of prison are repeat offenders.

how many times do you beat your gf to death before we say enough?

how many vicious, hardened career criminals are going to by revolving doored in our faces.

if the batman had killed the joker the first time he escaped arkham asylum barbara gordon would be walking and thousands more would be alive.

  • It is a very bad idea. Our organs are also like memory banks. If the death row inmates are truly guilty, then any of their attitudes, likes and dislikes can be transferred over to the person with the newly attached organs. If that death row inmate had taste for seafood, then that craving can be passed on. If that death row inmate was truly evil, some of that evil can be transferred over and affect the patients in negative ways. It's been on the news before about this same type of thing.

  • @Visionz2MyInnerEye what the hell are you talking about? Are there any credible evidence that support this? Just saying that you saw it on tv doesnt make it true. The only organ that acts as a memory bank is the brain, and they arent transplating that.

  • @Visionz2MyInnerEye

some one's been watching to many roger corman movies!

  • @Visionz2MyInnerEye NONSENSE!

  • @Visionz2MyInnerEye Are you serious? What news was this?

  • please just abolish death sentences alltogether!

  • wow , i love you stumbleupon , this is pretty deep stuff

  • I think it would make a great reality show!! See the heinous crime committed and the penalties associated so others think twice. Then see all of the lives save that are grateful for the donation.

  • why not use soviet execution method , bullet in your head and then take the corpse apart ? I think vivisection is not something you should have doctors do .

  • interesting... not something I've ever thought about, a very good point tho. I don't really agree with capital punishment, but if it's not something thats going to change then we should at least make the best of it. Isn't the whole point of killing the killers to make what they did right? It makes much more sense that they save lives in my opinion.

  • interesting view on things. i personally am not for the death penalty (only in extreme rare cases like if another Hitler showed up) but this idea to use death row inmates who willingly give up their organs is a new one.

  • We've all seen Apocalypto - organ donation can be fun!!

  • Look, lets take the organs and THEN afterward hang, electrocute, shoot or lethally inject to your hearts content! ;-)

  • Look, lets take the organs and THEN afterward hang, electrocute, shoot or lethally inject to your hearts content! ;-)

  • Look, lets take the organs and THEN afterward hang, electrocute, shoot or lethally inject to your hearts content! ;-)

  • is a load of crap and i say that im ok with people not being up for this because it just means that if this is allowed then there will be a better chance for me getting an organ if i ever need one

  • i am all for this idea, if anything let those who dont like this die or let people know before if it is a criminals organ. i mean at least to me it doesnt really matter at all if the heart i get is from a murderer as long as it is healthy because guess what it is your brain that tells your body what to do and also your brain that gives you morals and tells you oh this is wrong or oh this is alright. the whole superstition that if i get this bad man/woman's organ then i will become a bad person

  • lets ban death punishment first maybe.

  • @sykkocan I honestly don't see this as a good idea. The Donating organs is a beautiful idea that can save many lives one like a friend of mine that needed a new liver. But Banning it all together No. Because If someone slaughtered your family raped your little girl how would you feel about that person not getting death in return for what he did?

  • mine too, stumble upon rocks!

  • very good idea

  • I was eating a bowl of chili when I StumbledUpon this. Well...good-bye chili.

  • I like the idea!!!

  • its a shame that Doctors vow to never kill someone, or something like that, so won't perform surgery that will end in that persons life

  • Very interesting. Stumbled from Mordor.

  • Fuck Capital punishment

  • This sounds very Jonathon Swift-ish

  • I would't want a murderer heart or any organ inside me... :S

But I like the animation... ;)

  • @sekhmeta13 Would you prefer to be dead instead? Suppose you're lyin on the street suffocating, and you need immediate CPR. Would you rather die than be rescued by a person with bad breath?

Well, technically after you die, you can no longer care, so that's kinda a solution.

  • @lodevijk and... I understand the idea... and respect it... but in my case... yes... I rather die... just my opinion...

I say Why... only that in spanish...

So if you want a murderer organ... you can have it... that's your desition...

  • @sekhmeta13 would you rather have a pig heart? because that's what commonly is used.

  • or maybe we shouldn't consider capital punishment at all. death penalty is inhumane and dangerous

  • I think, if given the choice of death by electrocution or lethal injection or organ donation, death row inmates would most likely choose organ donation. This is assuming that the organs are fit for donation, other wise they're screwed. It's strange, but if you think about it they would, in a small weird way, live on through their donated organs. That is some consolation to men and women in their positions.

  • hell yea, why waste those organs!

  • so very true.

  • huh.

gotta admit, he makes a good point.

  • death penalty is wrong anway imo

  • @zoooooopopo

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

  • @wiseye61 haha very good. love the big lebowski

  • interesting, real, sad, thought provoking............... as an option..

  • my my... stumbleupon brings forth some awesome things...

  • @renegade220 true true

  • Hey, why not? China does it... alot.

  • stumbled upon it

  • okay so lets find a multi billion dollar pharmasutical organ distributor company that will set up a clean, green, friendly and expensive anesthesia for every inmate eveyr so hours...

now if i was in the human organ selling bidness this video would def be my bidness plan...

  • Some people do not wish their bodies to be desecrated upon death. They should have their wish. If someone wants to donate their organs then they should be allowed to do so. Simple.

  • @DDowza oh, they are on death row for what exactly? i presume, for desecrating other peoples bodies...

  • *you're

  • It does creep me out, but makes a lot of sense non the less.

  • wow that really creeps me out but really its true... o.O

  • Hard subject, but I would say that those who are set for execution must have the choice. Its morally wrong to take someones organs without asking. But those people on death row the choice to do some good of their execution is the right way to go.

  • good idea

    but

disease and drug use riddle the prison system

  • If we are to condemn a person to death, it should be among the hardest decisions we must make as a society. We should not embrace policies that tip the balance of pros and cons toward a death sentence.Allowing inmates to volunteer for an organ donation program could indeed be beneficial, but we must take care to avoid the moral hazard that would arise from adoption of organ harvesting as standard protocol for all executions, lest we find ourselves making determinations of death that much easier.

  • although i do not usoort organ stransplants because of the fact that i am a naturalist this IS a good idea. 100% supportive of it.

  • Absolutely NOT! Nature did not bless you with a full set of functioning organs, or you screwed them up through abuse. Harvesting organs is not right. Just because we can, does not means we should, and this procedure CAN and WILL be abused by greedy people.

  • @br8d1 Your an Ignorant idiot.

  • @meddy89 And you are a retarded person throwing rocks.

  • i get the point of where this is geting at, but this is pretty much forced apon them then, which is pathetic

were all fine with that cuz its not our organs, and when it is, what do we do? ur not gonna hessitate right, im sure people are allowed to donate thier organ esp thoese on deathrow, but if they choose not to then what, the vid sounds like YES, TAKE IT.

it make sound like its a sacrifice for the greater good, but hey its america, cant we be more civilized here

  • @WingedSoulies If an inmate is on death row, why should't their organs be sent to people who need them? How many lives can be saved if an executed inmates organs are taken without permission. Their rights were already forfeited when they, most likely, murdered someone. Letting the organs die off with the inmate is a great loss and not a "sacrifice". You would sacrifice the lives of the people who need the organ transplants to live to respect the wishes of someone who is being executed.

  • o gee now im the stupidest person in the world, i posted that comment like half a yr ago?

apparently as long and its not ur organs ur fine with it ok

hope u gotta prison ^^ and so u can give me ur organ

  • but the brain or heart of the killer would take over that sick person's body and make them evil!!!

  • In this country, you have to make sure they are really guilty first, racism is rampant.

  • Harvest no organs.what the hell do you need them for anyway and why are you sick people even talking about this issue anyway ?

  • This one goes out to the perpetrators of the death penalty. There IS in fact a very efficient and 'humane' way to kill a human by preserving his/her organs in perfect shape for transplantation. That is, with pure nitrogen. It's totally painless and non-distressing unlike all the other currently practised methods. If you agree on being an organ donor it shouldn't matter which way you die as long as your organs are still useable to save other lives.

  • Would you rather someone who died not guilty and just let the body parts go to waste? This person isnt saying that they're all guilty and they all deserve to die, just hat maybe some people can live. Chill guys

  • Makes sense to me. Hopefully we'll even get more states giving out the death penalty. The more assholes we kill, the more nice peoples lives we can save.

    Woo.

  • they say innocent before proven guilty, well not all trails are right, ill fram eu all and u can die, and u know what ill be luaghin and we humans dink were al smart and dominate all, were all the same low life beings, we al dont carea bout each other, if i told u somone is gonna die on ur block u wont be scared, but when i say theres gonna be an earthquake in haiti ,everyone freaks out,

people arnt impressed with death, just numbers, we all dink we know judgement, were not gods

  • @WingedSoulies congratz. i think you are officially the stupidest person on youtube!

  • @EricCartman2112 and holy shit u r stupid

  • @WingedSoulies lol nice comeback. you are proving your intelligence.

half a year ago? actually posted a month ago...

your comment still comment still cracks me up! like, are you 12?!?

  • I read a short story about this once. What happens is that whenever someone is executed they harvest all of their organs, and one man is trying to escape from jail after being put on death row. In the end it's revealed that his crime was running 4 redlights. Executing every single person that commits a crime lets everyone else live exceedingly long lives.

  • I wish the bleeding heart people were as passionate about the crime VICTIMS.

  • what do you mean?

all this video is saying is that there could be some good to come from capital punishment. (i know hard to believe isn't it).

It's not talking about the actual crimes.

  • Whoa!

  • Of all of those people who died because that one prisoner didn't give them an organ, how many organs did /they/ give to save another life?

  • This planet does not need anymore people. I say let them die.

  • hear hear.

  • Thank god for the few intelligent and big-picture people in this country.

  • anyone who doesn't like this idea is a hippie. great idea

  • I know! lets kill all the prisoners and sell their organs because we care!!

oh no don't sell them lets make it free.

e...ah and well kill them anyway...because we are civilized. the organs were not useful before right?

it is true because we ALL say so.Right?

  • eh i dont think there are enough people executed each year for me to care whether or not theyre able to donate their organs. efforts are probably better spent convincing all those paranoid people to change their minds and become donors.

  • Brilliant.

  • good shit

  • it costs more money to execute prisoners than to keep them alive for 20 years on simple meals...we should look into this but im guessing not all of their organs would be valuable as many of them are smokers and besides who would want the heart of a murderer?

  • someone's family an friends.

  • I agree to harvest the organs on these inmates. The only thing that i hope doesnt happen is that due process is rushed on some inmate that has a rare blood type so little billy or susie can live.

  • So, basically, we should keep the death penalty around so that we can harvest the organs of these inmates for the betterment of society. Do you not realize the brutalizing effect the death penalty has on ALL of society? If we value life so much as a culture, then we shouldn't kill people, even murderers, because, guess what that makes us? When I read the title of this video, I thought it was a Swiftian work of irony. Nope.

  • I see where you are coming from comletely but the point is that our society, as horrible as this might seem, will not stop the death penalty. I'm pretty sure if we were in better care they wouldn't kill anybody or have a death penalty but they do. All this video is saying is that if they are going to keep the death penalty then they should at least put it to good use, other than what they believe to be good which is killing these inmates.

  • @Skittishfox OH BOOHOO LETS LET THE RAPIST MURDERS AND CHILD MOLESTERS live there days using MY TAX MONEY, yea screw you i dont think so.

  • People like you amuse me, Andrew. You are reactionary, ill-informed, and woefully anachronistic. Do you know how many people, on average we execute every year? No? 22. So, how many rapists and murderers is that? 22. And if you imagine for a moment that these are the most deserving criminals, you're wrong. They are the poor, usually black southerners who can't afford a lawyer and are living in the most poorly educated and systemically violent part of the country.

  • Oh because they fucked up i should have my hard earned money going towards letting them live? Lol my dad grew up a poor farm boy and he didnt run out and kill someone he supports a family of 5 kids, he was smart but he stayed in school and went to college, with no money people make up all these damn excuses and i dont care cause you can always find a way, tough shit.

  • Learn your facts, it costs more of your tax dollars to execute a prisoner than keep them locked up for life. Look it up :D

  • Perhaps you should look up your own facts, or at least not claim them to be facts.

Boarding- It cost 40,000-50,000 a year, resulting in a median of $740,000 per lifetime prisoner. While a Death penalty cost about $70,000 - $75,000 per year for an average of 11 years.

Court- It cost $600,000 to $1.6 million for a Death Penalty trial to go through. However, even on life in prison gets hearings and they cost about $15,000-$50,000 per hearing.

There so it isn't so cut and dry.

  • The new york department of corrections has estimated that implementing the death penalty would cost the state 118 million dollars annually. In texas, the state with the most executions, a death penalty TRIAL costs 2.3 million dollars (thats for every trial) which is 3 times the cost of imprisoning someone in a high security cell for 40 years.

Even if you ignore the costs, i don't see how anyone can say it is ok TO KILL A PERSON (who may or may not even be guilty btw)

  • I'm done...

    1. You pick the highest end stats, to validate your point. I showed that it can be effective to execute a prisoner.

    2. Trials vary in cost, and the 2.3 million is not per TRAIL. It is the total cost assuming that make ever appeal, and they are a high profile case.

    3. You attack my morals, trying to make me into some kind of monster, saying that supporting execution supports murder.

    So Good Day sir.

  • 1. You fail to produce any data refuting my stats

    2. A prisoner would have no reason to not take every appeal, so it is fair to use the highest cost, even if they do not, a death penalty trial without appeals costs on average 6x more than a non death penalty one

    3. I'm not saying supporting execution supports murder, I'm saying that: A. It is hypocritical to kill someone in retribution for them killing someone, and B. since 1973, 139 people have been exonerated after death penalty convictions

  • and god knows how many innocent people executed. regardless of your opinion on the deaht penalty, it is ludicrous to say that there is justification for execution of innocent people.

  • NO SHIT WHAT IM SAYING IS WHAT THE VIDEO IS SAYING, SHit gimmie a loaded gun and ill do it for real cheap.

  • You said it yourself: your dad grew up on a farm, that's very different life (one not surrounded by constant fear and violence) from that of the inner city impoverished. Also, so that in the future, you sound like less of an ignoramus, you should realize that you pay far more to prosecute a death penalty case than to just keep the prisoner in jail.

  • Oh stumbling C:

  • Isn't it great to stumble around the net?

  • @Ultimaniacx4

    Why yes, yes it is!

  • i stumbled upon this

  • STUMBLE =P

  • CRAP

  • i stumbled and saved (^__^)

i wish that they would do that save so many lives but then again who would want a inmate body part

  • me too

  • I find this quite disturbing, and I think it creates the possibility of a worrying culture.

"This guy's organs might save a dosen people"

Does that make his execution more morally justified? Is a prisoner worth more dead than alive?

  • in fact, he is. do you know how much it costs to keep a prisoner alive these days? and these death row inmates have it coming anyways.
