That's impersonating, if you please. Regrading the cartoon, all I can say is, plus ca change, plus ca meme, at least when it comes to politicians. (forgive me for the lack of proper accents in the French).
Hi, I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some top 1930's movie star cards. They include: Maurice Chevalier, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Maurice Chevalier, Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford ....
Ann Rothschild broke into show business in the 1925 "Greenwich Village Follies" and was named "Little Ann Little" because she was only 4'10" tall and weighed 76 pounds. After "Dizzy Dishes" premiered, Paramount, who distributed Fleischer productions, held an audition for a girl to do the voice for the new character. Ann was chosen from among many other girls and provided the voice for a few cartoons before going on the road with a Betty Boop vaudeville act.
That is documented in THE FLEISCHER STORY. I should know since I had a hand in it being written. While I can identify three of the five voices, I am not certain which cartoons were done by Kate Wright and Ann Rothschild. There is an odd voice in BETTY BOOP'S BIG BOSS, BETTY BOOP'S BIRTHDAY, and PUDGY THE WATCHMAN that is neither Mae Questel, Bonnie Poe, or Margie Hines.
there used to be a poster of Helen Kane like the other two, but it was taken out shortly after Helen Kane's lawsuit agains Max Fleisher and Betty Boop. (You can actually hear where they cut that scene out because you hear a "pop" sound.)
I really hope Red hot Mama comes back because I never saw it and I want to see Dizzy Red Riding Hood as well.
It was taken out during the period of the lawsuit. Had it remained, it would have proved Miss Kane's case. You see the impression of Helen Kane on the placard in the distance. But the film now cuts into the song without the set up by the celebrities as in the rest of the segments.
