@menrightDOTcom you can fold the bill up so that it's very small, and then slip it into their hands as you walk or ride by. the last time I was in India I bought very small cloth bags and put bills in them; by the time they open it, you are gone. once in a while children may follow, but they will soon disperse, or you can slip into a store, etc. They can be interesting and nice to talk to. They are people, just like you and I.
but you should remember that it would be much more disturbing to be in her difficult position. next time give a beggar some change.
