How the heck are kids supposed to grow up without Mr. Rogers? Even when I was a kid most of the episodes were reruns. But when you're 3 years old that doesnt matter.

The reason is sadly becuase mr rogers is in heaven. The thought behind not showing it is they feel it would be to hard to explain to children seein the reruns. Sage I wish he were on also. Amanda-Beth age 24

This was such a great show for kids and adults. I don't understand why they took it off the air either. Makes me sad. =( I'm 27 years old and I remember watching it well up into my teenage years. Even when I went to college I would watch it from time to time. Please bring this wonderful show back.

Dear Sage, Once I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Rogers in his office at WQED studios. He was very nice, just like he is on TV. I miss him, and I miss his neighborhood too. Keep up the good work!

Sage, I'm 25 and I don't know why they took Mister Rogers off, either. I will write again to PBS and ask them to put him back on. Children today need him. I like your Mister Rogers trolley, though. Very neat!

I remember myself as I child sitting in the living room flipping through the channels and when I would turn on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood it captivated me to see such honest decency. I understand from discussing television with my classmates in elementary school that there are many children who may not benefit from or appreciate such a show but I do know that there are some that can have their life improved vastly with the help of this program.

@WhiteHatCowboy I agree wholeheartedly with you. It is of GREAT benefit to children and parents alike. It is such a waste to leave good programming hidden in a vault as if it were never produced! Fred Rogers left a legacy in a huge body of work that was meant to go on for future generations.

:( You made me cry too, Sage! I am nearly 16 years old, and I still watch it. It used to be on like at 6:00 am, which is the time I eat breakfast before school, and it used to be so warm and comforting. I miss it so much.

You are a dear, lovingrock4life. It's been over a year and still, PBS has not given the public they serve this fantastic show. They have actually CUT if even more from the cities that had kept it by choice.

PBS has lost its true mission to serve the public. They now serve their wallets.

This is such a sweet video. I was so sad to learn that PBS decided to take Mister Rogers off the air, and it's even worse knowing that it was due to low ratings. I really hope the show can make a return to televisions nationwide. Despite its age, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is still by far one of the greatest things in children's programming.

Sage, I am 30 years old and I still watch Mr. Rodgers. And I am also very upset by PBS not allowing him to be on as much as he should be. There are some episodes here on youtube, but it doesn't feel the same as being able to see him everyday on the t.v. I have written to PBS and asked them to please put him back on. I know if you and I work together to ask as many people as we can to help Mr. Rodgers we will get him back on everyday. I am glad to have neighbors like you. Have a wonderful day.

awesome! I use to love that park so much!! I remember when it first opened my mother and Grandparents were very indulgent of my love of Mister Rogers lol, and my Grandfather (R.I.P) use to always make me Trolleys...Which is one of the reason I feel in love with the Mrn Trolley...btw Did you know you can watch that tour here? they have the whole thing uploaded on youtube :)

Yes, as a matter of fact, it is only because of the uploaded tour of Idlewild Park on Youtube, that I even was made aware of this awesome park! I am counting down the days until spring when we can take a trip from Illinois to PA and ride that trolley in person! I wish it was tomorrow! We have a long winter to endure first though. I wish there was more I could do to put Mister Rogers back on PBS nationwide. It's a travesty it was removed in so many states.

Oh, lucky you! It's on right now for you! I wish I were there! My daughter does love Mister Rogers so much and we are planning a trip to Pittsburgh next spring and Idlewild Park. Coincidentally, here,I have just now packaged up some blank discs to send to a generous friend that will record shows for us.

I will watch your tribute and look forward to seeing it.

Yes! That's so true. All the shows are nothing to compare to the deep, honest, loving, faithful neighbor who truly cares for every unique special individual and their feelings and truth and joys and thoughts and inspires imagination and love. Ahhh....this world so needs that faith! I can't wait to talk to Fred Rogers face to face when I am called home too....what a wonderful man who shared God's love with so many!
