I only discovered Kermitt Ruffins after watching HBOs Amazing Treme , but I wish it hadn't taken a natural and man made disaster for me to get to hear of him . Your awsome Kermitt . Long live New Orleans !!
@MyVorpal When I evacuated after the storm, I was able to bring my Rebirth and Kermit cd's with me and Kermit's music literally kept me from losing my mind. I will be forever in his debt for him just being him. He also is one of the most personable people you'll ever meet. He's our generation's Louis Armstrong.
@1blastman Where were you living during the storm and have you been able to go back home yet , or was that not really an option . I know what it's like to have to leave a place and the people you care about , so i can understand a tiny bit of what you must have been through .
@MyVorpal We live on the Northshore, but at the time, were being told that it would be months before electiricity and schools came back. The storm itself did mostly tree damage to us, so it was a matter of cleaning up and then getting our kids into schools. We were in Georgia for several weeks, but it seemed like the "longest year" of my life. We came back as quickly as we could; it was hard to watch what was going on and not go back to help out. Now we wouldn't go for anything. WHO DAT!
Oh Mister Kermit, play on...yeah!
