  • Phantasmagoria era shirts were a bit fancy Dan to people like me who couldn't pull the look off -Cap's chicken suit?

I think that album is their most criminally under-rated work, the singles sold well, but Sanctum Sanctorum is an iconic piece of music in my book amongst an album where every song is a gem.

The truth is that The Damned could have been butt-naked for all I care(in fact Cap often was)but they have always been a magnificent band in all their guises.

    They're Deffo National Treasures

  • and so began the POOFY shirt era... well, The Damned had all the punk firsts, first to tour the US, etc, and they were the back up band for MARC BOLAN'S Last tour: did he inspire the poofy shirts?!?! viva sensible/scabies/james/vanian

  • I think the frilly shirts, at this time, were forced upon them by the record label who wanted a uniform look for the big tour!

In this clip, the only nice shirt is Vanians & he was wearing them from Day 1!

  • yeah I was the one who climbed onstage during the middle eight, yeah I have always been a master of bad timing!!!!!and I pulled the jackplug out!!!!..DOH!!!.then got chucked out and spent the rest of the night roaming london!!!

  • then you caused one of my favourite live moments ever cause the way they go back into the song is amazin. Not so sure about your vocal skills tho!

  • This was at The Town & Country Club (as it was called back then) in Kentish Town, London.

  • Does anyone know what town/city this show took place in?
