  • I wish Carla was Laurie.

  • Comment removed

  • If I were her I'd want to do the stunts too. I think she really stood out as a interesting character in the movie.

  • 0:19 COMICON HERE WE GO !!!!!

  • Finished the graphic novel yesterday. I absolutely HATE movie-Laurie, she only has a fraction of her personality left.

I also feel like ripping things apart when I hear them talking about "GIRL power, FEMALE superhero, SHE can do just as well as THE BOYS." Fuckin' sexists take away her persona just to turn her into a symbol for "kick-ass women".

She's Laurie, Silk Spectre II, damnit, not a GIRL SUPERHERO.

  • @AjnosFTW wow cry a little more over a film, get a life fucking loser, no one cares what yo have to say its the internet, maybe get a friend to talk too.

  • @AjnosFTW So...you're saying girls can't fight or something? If there can be MALE superheroes, then there can be FEMALE superheroes as well. And by saying that, you call us the sexist ones? Oo

  • @iheartslashers Sorry, I should've been clearer. I meant that there shouldn't be so much focus on whether a superhero is female (or male), I was angry with that she was simply a "girl superhero" and not "a superhero(who happens to be a girl)".

  • @iheartslashers (cont.) It's hard to explain, but including her for the reason "we need a girl" instead of "we need a character" bothers me because it's as if girls don't need developement/personality, just her gender, & the caption "just as good as the boys!" This was not the case in the comic book, where Laurie was a good character & not "the girl".

  • @AjnosFTW I agree; the comment she made in the clip about "fighting just like a man" is really disheartening, as if fighting like a woman were a bad thing....

  • for more amazing women and martial arts please watch HASSEL UNLEASHED

  • i love how they say 'laurie is THE female superhero' like they're so great for having ONE woman (well 2, but one is retired and still a LOT more men). there's usually the 'token woman' in these types of movies and everyone thinks it's so progressive.

  • @froggymicwop There was another one. She was murdered for being a lesbian. And keep in mind how unlikely it would be for any women to be in the group considering the time period of a pre-1960s social landscape.

  • I will watch ANYTHING that has Malin Akerman beating people up in it. She is soooooo hot and a perfect supehero chick.

  • She can play with my SuperHero anytime!

  • @ASSBANG6969 hahaha she reallt should do mine too haha!!

  • now we know how they did the manhattan glow.

  • 0:16 TRON GUY!!!

  • @ClickKopf Thumbs up

  • It's nice to see she's enjoying her job. And btw KeMoniito you've never actually met a real girl have you?! Lololol

  • Girls kick ass..? LMAO!!! only in Hollywood movies and that's just a token for political correctness... in real life girls are just weaklings that need alot of support and reassurance.. there is no such thing as "girl power" that's just a liberal feminist cliche..

  • @KeMoniito I take it you've never heard of Bow Sim Mark, Master Gini Lau, Miew Choi Fa, Wing Chun, etc... before? All of these women could rip your head, arms, & eyes out before you could make a move. Now that's no joke, not all women are the same OK.

  • What Can She do? does laurie have superpowers? plz answer

  • Nah, she just does martial arts.

  • None of them have superpowers(exept john, but that another story). Thats kinda the point of the film. It isnt a normal superhero film. More of a social commentary, and exploring how costumed crime fighters would be in the real world.

  • @sk8tergirl939 you don't need super powers to be a hero. She just fights like a normal human, but of course with training.

  • 0:16 *laugh*

    oh god, i can't anymore

i heard about the blue suit, but damn that is one funny costume

  • at least sally's outfit serves a purpose with its old school pin up look, laurie's is just trashy?!?!! in the 40s and 50s the pin ups were trashy by most standards and the latex of laurie's costume fits, the movie is set in the darkness of the 80s...

  • LAWL this is hilarious! They pronounce my name soooooo wrong! XD my name is Malin, is also Swedish.. and I hear they say "Mallin"

    loool

  • Laurie's costume is 100x better than Sally's! Can't beat the straps, & BOOTY!

  • Sally Jupiter's costume is so damn sexy!

  • Yeah, I like Sally's costume better than Laurie's costume. Laurie's costume is just ugly and serves no purpose other than giving guys more material for their spank banks. Sally's outfit serves the same purpose of course, but at least it has the old school pin-up girl aesthetic which for me is more appealing than the uber-skanky latex fetish gear. But yeah, both outfits are impractical and nothing more than fanservice.

  • Yeah, no way anyone could actually bust through a roof and land on the floor below in heels like that without damaging something, haha... but I'm not complaining :P

  • The comedian looks a lot like Javier Bardem, that actor is so HANDSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think he looks like robert downey jr

  • I agree, another handsome one..

  • He's smoking.

  • @snowy3600 Robert Downey Jr. is smaller...I thought he was Javier Bardem at first too.

  • Obvious troll is obvious

  • Haha your comment literally made me laugh out loud. If you're actually serious, you can go back and live in those sexist times. The rest of the world will move on.

  • i think she fits the role perfectly because ever noticed? laurie looks really masculine too in the book or atleast as masculine as the actress so fine by me

  • Both of the girls are sexy ;)

  • i m sorry but 'Lori' is not pretty enough to play that role.

  • well im not sorry, cause she fuckin is

  • LOL lower your standards, she is very cute!

  • i wish there were more girls in the world like that

    xD

  • well don't think women don't wish the same thing at times.

  • i c nothing speacial in her looks. her face is okay but her body not so

  • hmm as a perfectly straight woman, i think the opposite. she isnt too skinny but definitely not too big. Her face is really boxy and masculine. I may just be biased because she is really annoying in the movies I have seen her in like 27 dresses and especially in The Heartbreak Kid

  • i agree with you. her face is boxy & masculine. personally would wanna physically more attractive features, but strong voice

  • She's an ordinary woman. Ordinary women are amazing.

  • you are right. She is ordinary, but I would disagree with the 'amazing' part.

  • I love this movie. (:

  • Actually she fights like a futuristic, straight girl version of Xena.

Correct Blackfe, her mother was sexier and more interesting.

  • her mother was hotter

  • how's it gonna work?! you're actors that how it gonna work...

  • I thought Bridgette Riley (the fighter, not the op-artist) was her stunt double.

  • hot dam that chick is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why the fuck is there so much spam on youtube these days? god it shits me up the wall.

  • she looks hot in latex

  • absolutly perfect as silk spectre

  • Her punches are not realistic!

  • Well that's because they don't want to injure the actors playing the criminals for real.

  • malin akerman can kick ass!

  • Argh, Malin drove me absolutely freaking nuts. D:

  • dis is more interesting dan the movie..

  • Sally Jupiter was fine as hell (young parts of course) but Silke Spectre was ugly as fugness.

  • Well, in the movie they not really to kick some ass but actually to get some things in their asses. Wich is obviously very sad. The Comedian is very bad person, and Dr Manhattan is... [sound of annihilation]

  • Maybe it was the synch (german) but I thought she did a pretty good job.

  • You know, Malin Akerman's performance was pretty terrible. Some of her lines on Mars and at the end of the movie reminded me of something I saw in a high school play.

  • Ugly and Old. Period.

  • She's a great actress. Dynamite areolas too.

  • Girls always Kick Ass Its time for Guys to kick ass for a change!!

  • I really love this movie. I think it has been misunderstood somehow. But It really gives you the feeling of what The Watchman concept is about.

  • HOTHOTHOT.

  • It's cool that Carla Gugino is is the top two movies right now (Watchmen and Race to Witch Mountain) at the same time! You go, girl!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man I loved watchmen.

  • Girls have babies and masochits are the ones who like this crap...

  • she's not a 'female power' the character lacks personality. she's pretty much nothing and the mother character too.

  • Have to agree to some extent. You hear a female character being praised as a 'strong woman' or 'female power' so often because sixty years of feminism has allowed the character to kick a few people in the head.

Laurie's a good character but she's essentially just there to sleep with various of the male characters.

  • yeah, she only depicts sex as her mother does. i mean, she is not a full character by herself, she does not even have a sort of personality nor any weight in regards of the plot of the movie. she's almost irrelevant, as well as her mother. they are there just because they needed someone with boobs to get into a body fit costume and show half her rack.

  • Not really.

  • Sad but a little true. She was great in the movie, but she didn't really need to sleep with the guys and be all sexy all the time. Very irrelevant.

  • Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan

  • Rorshach

  • Just saw it, great movie with terrific FX and acting. Only question was why Nixon was still President after 17 years?

  • they said why several times in the movie

    America won Vietnam War...

Woodward and Bernstein were killed by The Comedian...thus no Watergate.

    Two limit was abolished...

  • ummmm something to do with the Vietnam...America won the Vietnam War and no Watergate so Nixon ran for a 3rd term and won.

  • Movie is awesome. It's not for the simple minded.

  • ppfttt as if.

  • I just wonder why did they removed captain metropolis from watchmen? i Mean thats a big change.

  • I usually prefer watching very fast fighting, so the fact that they did such cool choreographies and then they weren't that well-seen I find a bit dissapointing.

That's just me, though, and the movie's still awesome.

  • d-d-d-d-dats a silky ass bitch!!

  • such a great movie !!!

  • the fight scenes were cool

  • i just watched the movie today good movie but start of it was boaring but it got better. best part was the sex bitter with the sexy watchmen girl

  • It's weird seeing how fast they were actually performing those fight scenes after seeing it all in slow motion.

  • Words cannot describe how much I loved that movie, and they got so much right!!!! Of course they had to leave out a few things that weren't pertinent to the story for times sake And thank goodness they cut that alien thing out! I'm so happy with what they did!!!

  • I would have liked to see the alien in it simply because I don't like innocent characters being made into the patsy. The alien was also an important symbol of how deliberate and horrible Ozymandias' action were. However, I agree with taxibandit13 below, they would have had to film a lot more to have that make sense. Regardless, I'll still watch this over and over once a Director's Cut is available.

  • omg best movie ever! vioku. com got it on high definition

  • "...Thanks to Paramount and network PR for allowing me the exclusive privilege of bringing the Watchmen webisodes to youtube Direct from official sources and in the highest quality... "

Not that it matters to me, but bzuh?

  • The ending for the book was a better ending for the book. The ending for the movie was a better ending for the movie.

They would have had to make the move like an hour longer for that squid to make sense, or just leave everyone in the theater that hadn't read the book going "what the FUCK?!?"

Their ending was clever, in my opinion, and I definitely thought it made more sense for the movie.

  • Im not a fan. Never read the comic, never heard anything about it. I thought it was confusing in the begining and it seemed slow at first. But it picked up in the middle and grabbed my attention. Over all I thought it was an excellent movie. Im going to read the comics now.

  • youll like the comic much better, the only people who say the movie is better have never read the book and refuse to for some reason. i dont know about you but the movie was really boring.

  • Sally. Love the way she "HOLDS" her lips.

  • Had to go back and re watch these after seeing the film. Make sme want to see it again :)

  • Saw the film last night - it was fucking incredible. Everyone MUST see it!

For the fanboys - if they made an exact 'literal' translation of this graphic novel into a film, it would be utterly pants. The point of a remake is to translate one medium to another whilst telling the same approximate story. I believe Watchmen to be the best example of this kind of transition to date.

Zak Snyder is a visionary genius.

  • It's not a remake, it's an adaptation. > > I get your point, though, just saying.

  • wasn't bad, but I expected more

vioku. com has the full movie free

  • Adr you have no morals. GO SEE THIS MOVIE ON THE BIG SCREEN, it's so spectacular you owe it to yourself, instead of cooped up in the dark in front of your fucking computer monitor.

    Faggots.

  • the movie sucked ass. omg it sucked. they changed just about everything they could and left out abot 70 percent of the story

  • you fucking chump RaNk. The graphic novel is full of stop that DESERVED to go. Would you have preferred to see the fucking 'giant squid' ending? Or the elegant resolution they found for the movie where no deus ex machina is needed?

You prefer to see Silk Spectre crying every 5 fucking minutes (instead of just the once) and loads of "show dont tell, idiot!" lines like "hey, do you think the costumes helped us have sex?"

FUCK you fanboys. The Movie > The Graphic Novel.

  • I liked the giant squid and thught it was awesome, I'm not entirely sure abuot Silk Spectre, but they shouldn't have changed the costume and haircut, and those lines is something that was fine either way.

See, people have opinions. Stating one as something personal won't work.

  • NOOOOOOOOOO, The Movie = The Graphic Novel.

  • NOOOOOOOOOO, The Movie = Shit.

  • top 3 movies of 2009

    1)WATCHMEN 2)TRANSFORMERS 2

    3) INGLORIOUS BASTERDS

  • that´s right man!! even so i haven´t seen yet Inglorious basterds

  • they showed the ending....

  • her mother was a whore, and she is a whore. like mother like daughter.

  • None of them are whores. You need to grow up and figure out how women work.

  • even my gf thought she was a tramp. u need to get off of your computer more often and stop believing in whatever you read in comic books.

  • The movie is based on the comic book you idiot, if you bother to take a glance at it you'll see that there obviously not whores.

  • 1:26 is that a naked chick?

  • Just noticed that, I guess so lol.

  • they should do a prequel with the minute men.

  • yea, uh...no they shouldn't..Alan Moore would never go for that.

  • I saw the movie and I was fucking Amazed on of the greatest movies I've ever seen. well It goes down to my top 3 at least :D!

  • nice

  • She didn't really do good for acting though. =(

  • i was surprised how kickass she was...they could've picked a prettier girl...but she was still pretty hot...nicely done

  • She is like Paris Hilton with brains and no herpes.

  • lol

  • and shes actually hot

  • malin is hot in the movie... especially in (or partly in) costume.

  • "infer" my farvorite word (as to meaning)

  • i bet she farts

  • agree~!!

  • supa ho!! wahahhahahaha crap movie

  • She is emotionless tin the movie by what a review said

  • DAMN...... must see movie

  • if 'girls kick ass' is part of the movie, then it completely deviates from the original novel... completely. i'm a girl, i love the book, but it's written thoroughly chauvinistically

  • I agree, though in the novel's defense (or for the benefit of those who haven't read it) I'd like to emphasise that the chauvinism was intentional. One of the themes of the comic is a satire of traditional superheroes, and a desire to show how bizarre and - as you point out - chauvinistic the actions of most superheroes would be when transposed to a real-world setting.

  • damn

this movie is gonna be good

  • does anyone here have a favorite character from the comics mine is definently Rorschach.

  • diddo

  • Lol every loves Rorscharch but if I had a second one it would either be Nite Owl or Ozzy

  • has to be The comedian or Rorschach

  • the comedian dies at the beginning of the movie, thats what sparks the plot.

read the book to make the movie 100 times better, its super short, took like 3 hours to read

  • You crazy?!
