@MALARAZZA The whole concert (London 1988, Town and Country Club) is on a DVD that came out in 2004. On the cover there's an image of a gun and there's only mentionned "Pixies" . The concert is extremely intense and of a rare authenticity. Fantastic!

The end of the song illustrates perfectly why I find Pixies fantastic... Frank looking like he just came out of his bed, near a helpless little boy without his guitare, on the other hand bringing a song that knocks you down like a sledgehammer (like almost every song from Come on Pilgrim or Surfer Rosa). Pixies is maybe the only band every which doesn' t need all that rock'n roll shit to be great.

from what i can tell, he's using distortion along with a light chorus effect over it. his style is mainly combining bends with a lot of sustain and feedback. that combined with the distortion gives for his sludgy, cool sound on guitar.
