Good question what is used for the top ear?

Can i use yarn and and monks cloth to do this? I called all the craft stores in the area and they didnt even know what rug hooking was!!!! Any suggestions??? p.s. none of them carried wool either.... so i cant even cut my own strips!

She says she is working on Monk's Cloth....that is not what monks cloth looks like. Could she maybe working on Hucks cloth?
