They're probably using Java3D. That's what all the big aerospace contractors have on their job openings. It makes it twice as complicated to pull off video textures & obsolete looking than it would be in Java/OpenGL or even better, C++.

This is not Orbiter. It looks quite neat though. But why does the Earth rotate when you turn the spacecraft?
