  • PULL OVER BOY!

    License and registration please....

Where do you think you're goin' like that presto boy?

    ;-)

  • But you're chasing ...

  • clattery, noisy, rushed, monochromatic, played without love or a sense of fun, doesn't have an 'inner metronome', music doesn't have a regular pulse and is doesn't breathe (ergo, it's dead).

  • @spikehofmann Exactly.

  • terrible

  • This is Glenn Gould tempo. I actually prefer this movement at this speed, and he does an adequate job of exposing the polyphonic texture of the movement at this fast pace. Bravo!

  • lil bit too fast, although it is "presto". and he is accelerating, especially at the beginning. but it seems his fingers can handle it, not bad at all

  • GREAAAAAAT!!!!!

  • Maybe it is nerves disturbing him. He certainly is good, but he is running awfully fast, - accelerating all the way.

Still it´s better than the opposite, I suppose.

  • stop hatin....i bet half of u fools can't even play this piece

  • looks like the guy would rather be happier at a bar drinking beer with buddies.

  • horrible horrible, bad playing and no emotion at all !

  • ich kann gar nicht so schnell hören wie der spielt- der spielt schneller als ich hören kann

  • hahaha, you can see the page turner shaking his head in the beginning because he was rushing a bit. I still liked it despite the rush. It's always good to hear a piece made to be played in presto played in presto.

  • he is on coke

  • Oh my god! There's a terrible accelerando there!

  • Those who insist upon degrading others have created a future of degredation for themselves 100% gauranteed.{ukuswa}

  • this is played way too fast and coupled with the terrible sound quality of the recording, it makes for one fast blurry musical ride.

  • it s presto, and the "terrible sound quality of the recording" is in fact due to the echoing...

  • exactly^^(although it's really a little bit fast)

  • lmfao

  • These comments are totally ridiculous. What justifies calling this performance 'shit'? Like some of the other offensively negative comments below, this must come from someone who has no musical intelligence or understanding of criticism. Your remark shows more about you than it does about the artist: it demonstrates your inferior knowledge of music, performance, and even of the English language. Perhaps the only shit here is you.

  • What are you, some sworn defender of incompetent musicians? And please, do not judge me because it seems that I lack vocabulary by using vulgate words. To me it seems you are one who dreams of eloquence and grandeur but is so dissilusioned that you must be hyper critical of the layman to make yourself feel better. And also, what qualifications do you have to judge my knowledge on music and performance? By writing my previous comment, did i really make it apparent?

  • You are avoiding the issue at hand: on what grounds are you criticizing this performance? The only thing apparent by both this and your old comment is that you have no vocabulary and thus no reasoning, at least none on display, to justify your assessment. Labeling a performance shit, being called on it, and STILL avoiding an explanation by writing rhetorical drivel makes your own incompetence all too clear.

  • first of all why must you attack my ability to speak english? just becasue of one use of the word "shit".

ok, let us not argue, you have made apparent that you wish to know why i label this performance as "shit". well he does have good physical skill i believe he lacks dynamic variety and could play in such a way that is more appealing to my taste (i.e playing it more in a musical fashion)i am not saying that the person is "shit", but yes, the performance was.

  • In your initial comment, you diminish this artist by stating that his playing is unlike his appearance: i.e., he looks professional but his playing is not. Now you admit that his interpretation does not conform to your understanding of what is musical. So a person's skill is not an objective standard, but rather a reflection of how closely it matches your taste. Heaven forbid that any performance be too far from your rock solid criteria!

  • here we go again with the personal attacks

i propose this to you, post a video of yourself (if possible) playing a piece of music (any, preferably classical piano)to your criteria of a good performance and i shall do the same. from this may we then maybe get a better understanding of eachothers standards

  • Go ahead and post a video response to this.

  • ok i will, will you

but why do you insit to makes personal attacks? are you that insecure? and dynamics is an obtuse part of music if thats what you are implying. especially for a piece that was written for an insrtument without great dynamic variety to be played on a modern piano. to be able to use dynamic effectively to give the piece "colour" is quite a skill

  • All you offer as justification is an obtuse comment about dynamic variety. What else defines playing "more in a musical fashion"? Have you heard many recordings of this movement? If the fast tempo disturbs you, what do you make of Gould's interpretations? His 1957 recording is 2 seconds faster than the above, while the 1981 version is considerably slower. How do you evaluate those? Is Gould, an obvious professional, less of an artist because you would disagree with his performance decisions?

  • and by the way, not to compete with your or such, but:

    1. how old are you

    2. what is your profession

    3. if you are a musician, what are your qualifications

  • very messy...

  • well it's a bit unstable but considering the tempo, he's very good already. and his tempo isn't even my allegro.

  • no etude

  • well, it is presto, so u should give him credits for playing fast ;]

his tenchiques are wonderful, but i certainly agree with u, its a little too blurry and needs clarity

  • sublime

  • Nicely done, although I personally feel as though the 3rd mvt was played a little too fast (I acknowledge that the tempo indication is presto). The phrases all semmed to blur together and there was little clarity.

However, this is only my umble opinion! :@)

The 1st and 2nd mvts were beautifully executed.
