This is kinda not what your loking for in a comment but dude you just scared the SAHIT out of me. I know sometimes you get news out on bad things happening so when I clicked on it and read the begining of the title and first heard you start talking I thought Oh shit......Something has been changed and I might have some problems as I'm in the process of immigrating to Canada...I'm glad that it has nothing to do with that though.
Sorry for the scare, dude. No, the bastard just took out some facts about gay rights from the exam booklet.
Don't worry about Harper and his minions. He has a minority government and is nowhere as good at hiding the truth as his predecessors. Idiots like him don't last long.
At the current moment I'm simply going through Perment Residency and I probably won't hear anything until mid summer from the department said (about time) and will have to wait a few years before I can go for Citizenship....I plan on studying everything Canadian during that time and of course my wife will help me (Good thing as I can't see print LOL)
Right on! Canada's all the better for having you with us, bud. If you get the chance, I don't know how much travelling you've done already, but try to get into some of the smaller towns in Canada. Much of our national identity can be found in places like Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (ok an island, not a town, but it still applies) or Dawson City, Yukon (summer is best. Winter is -80 degrees.)
i read the article about the exam leaving out everything about gay/lesbian rights and it sounds like a bunch of homophobics who we're mad that gay marriage was legalized and are trying to attack that by leaving out the gay/lesbian rights. they need to get with the program Canada has spoken and they need to grow up. either deal with or get out i say. i do find it interesting that gay marriage was legalized nationally. here in the states only a few such as California has legalized it
Yeah, this one person seems to be pushing his one sided agenda on the rest of Canada. Get him out of politics, I say... Equality is a right, not something that can be taken away by the closed minded.
@PeaceAndLove8808 no california rejected it in 2008, only New York and Vermont have legalised it to my knowledge- but if ur gay come and live here in British Columbia, most people here are either accepting of gays or just dont care and there r fewer religious nuts
we deparately need to rid us of Hipler and his nazi PC party

@CanadianoftheCoast yes I think the Libs and the NDP should combine and become one party, then they would win

Politics aside, though, welcome to Canada!
