I went throught his shit in 1995. From what I understand, it's gotten harder. Some of us called it Mass Consumption of Time, but of course, back then the towers were still standing. I remember I hated firing those damn machine guns. Afterwards we had to pick up the expended ammo cartridges and go back to the armory & spend God knew how many hours cleaning those fucking guns! It's stressful, but not in the same way as USMC boot camp. While boot camp is a very strict environment under the leadership of very qualified professionals, MCT is generally under the very loose small unit leadership of Marine 0311's who are either almost out or are in administrative trouble. It's up to each platoon to work together and find support. For example, my night land-nav course consisted of the Staff NCO telling us to fuck ourselves and smoke cigarettes. We sat in the dark until dawn.

It is less stressful as far as DI's dont yell 24/7 as they did in BOOT CAMP (not "basic training"). But at the same time, they will not hesitate to chew you out for making stupid mistakes. DI's are more open and seem more willing to help. This is more geared towards training for your job (infantry, combat engineer, MP, etc) rather than mental prep like Boot Camp. But this is my opinion.
