The truth about the pinky is that 1st: Not cool to watch, but It doesnt really matter, 2nd: You should start trying to use it NOW beceause you got one finger that is fully unused, so when you will try doing harder things like long scaled sweeping, you will just cry beceause you will have to learn to use your pinky and for a beginner its one of the most hard shiz you can do.

eiegth notes at 220 BPM isn't very difficult.... But point taken, some people are just commenting on something that really isn't that important. He IS using his pinky, so what if he's changing position a lot. It's something good to be able to do, but it's not necessary all the time... I believe it's because it's a kid that plays better than a lot of adults and they just need something to bring him down =\

You really need to develop your pinky. Very nice job. also, it looks really goofy when you pick with your elbow and not your wrist. When I was first learning to pick fast I went for the Vinnie Moore arm action thing because it's actually quite easy to pick fast that way. However, most of your picking motion should be generated in the wrist, not the elbow. Check out Paul Gilbert, Malmsteen, Guthrie Govan, among others.

ohh. i can tell you only use your pinky when absolutely necessary.. you should get rid of that technique. It works for this, but it will limit you in the future when you try to do wide stretches and 4 note per string patterns.
