As usual, terrific acting of a wary, troubled Victor. But why stop now? The tape stops just before Victor offers to sacrifice his great love, Ilse, to get her to safety with his rival, the guy who cuckholded him in Paris. Later on it will inspire Rick's noble idea to sacrificer HIS great love, the mirror image of it, at the finish. Victor sees that there's good in Rick even when Rick doesn't work on it, and later he's proved right. But this clip, as usual, doesn't take Victor seriously.
