God revealed Himself to me when my parents were filing for a divorce, I turned to the only thing else I knew, prayer. Soon I started praying to God everyday for something to happen. My parents started to get help and today we are deeper in Christ than ever. sometimes people only find God after a catastrophe. I hope you find him before that.

Although you mean well by citing those examples, you still have no argument AGAINST religious beliefs. Religious beliefs never hurt anyone. The people who claim to be religious and do horrible things make the rest of those who really do practice our religion the way our God(s) intended look bad.

And by the way, some other people have been saying stuff that sounds really stupid - God doesn't send troubles to punish us, he sends them because, well if we had no darkness we wouldn't appreciate goodness and what is right. And the free will of others also causes troubles, so it's not all God's work.

God revealed Himself to me when my parents were filing for a divorce, I turned to the only thing else I knew, prayer. Soon I started praying to God everyday for something to happen. My parents started to get help and today we are deeper in Christ than ever. sometimes people only find God after a catastrophe. I hope you find him before that.

Jesus also works in the lives of those who ask him, and this is proved by miracles that are written about in books/autobiographies all over the world. Don't be put off by people who seem really weird and dogmatic in their faith. Just pick up a Bible once in a while or ask someone to talk to you about Jesus. He loves you even when others dont.

@boxboy40 we belive in a young earth between about 6000 and 15000 years old. the dog supposedly was slowly domesticated over thousands of years yet in THIS MONTH'S issue of National Geographic they had a story about how they have domesticated foxes completly in under 20 generations, about 50 years not thousands. about a year ago some fossils were found with INTACTED blood vessels and even blood cells even though they are only supposed to be able to survive about 10,000 years.

9/21/08 my child Melissa was given 1 hr to live at Columbia Presby Hosp Bx NY. Both her lungs were unable to stop bleeding.Drs said that not even a lung transplant would save her.I remember how in the supernatural God used Moses to part the red sea.So I prayed God in the supernatural power You gave Moses I ask You to close my daughter's lungs like You did to the red sea.I had a scripture in every IV bottle. She flat line 8 times and was suppose to be brain dead.Drs call it miraculous.

I agree. People like lizazoon expect God to answer prayer like a magician. God has lifted his finger to help by using people. Otherwise, who can exercise compassion? He has placed the call on the hearts of many Christian to help people in Haiti and thereabouts.

A very sad view of God by lizazoon. Man caused all these terrible things because of sin. Because of sin we live in a fallen world that is subject to all these disastrous things that lizazoon speaks of. And yes, they are terrible. But it is only the salvation of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and the forgiveness of sin that we must repent of that will provide man with an eternity without the pain and suffering. God created polio, science cured it. God created small-pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2 million illnesses,virusses, parasites, science found cures for many. God created infertility, science created in-vitro, and an estimated 15 million lives. God`s lifespan was 45 years, science doubled it. 100.000 innocent children died a horrible death, beneath the rubble of their houses in Haiti. The allmighty didn``t lift a finger to help.
