I'm not a fan of this game, but it does have it's good points. There are times where it can be rather humorous, but the game play is what I don't like. That and I've played and beaten every true Spyro game before..and they really butchered my favorite dragon. The game itself is rather confusing to me (like I said..I'm used to actual Spyro games). But really, other than a few minor things, it's a rather decent game.

Regular Spyro, Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt will probably never released separately, Dark Spyro is a 3DS exclusive and I don't know if Ignitor will be ever released separately too. If you want to spend less money, try giving up your old, used games at Gamestop or other VG shops that allow it. I got the Wii version at 30€ and the 3DS one at 15€ (I'm Italian).

@kiraina25 Horrible scripts? Did you eve hear Kaos' jokes? He is the epitome of trying too hard, and the gameplay is extremely simplistic which is disappointing. Crash, on the other hand, had multiple combos and 15 Titans with unique powers and attacks. Not as many as Skylanders, but the Titans had a more serious look and you didn't have to pay extra. The recent Crash games didn't suck at all. Who in their right mind likes this and hates Crash?

But speaking as a fan whose first game EVER was the original Crash, they completely screwed up every single character, even classic fan-favorites like Brio. Not to mention, they got some of my favorite VAs from my childhood to voice some of the stupidest writing the video game industry has ever seen.

Why is N.Gin obsessed with eating Coco? Why is Brio suddenly a psychotic mutagen addict? Because Mind over Mutant sucks.

@kiraina I played Crash Bandicoot 1 when I was 4 and it was also my first game EVER. They modernized the characters with sleek designs. The new traits were hits and misses (Tiny should've had a boss fight, Cortex needed to act more serious, Crunch needed to be serious, N-Gin should have built mechs, N-Brio needed to stop with the mutagen BS and have an actual mutant boss fight, etc), but the gameplay was EPIC. The combat was fun and the Titans were brilliant. MOM was great. Different isn't bad.

@kiraina25 PS: I will agree somewhat with the script, though. The writing needed to be cleansed of half the jokes to give the game an actual plot in MOM. The best cutscenes in MOM were in fact the semi-serious ones that used the in-game graphics. But in the industry's writing, Skylanders is far worse. And the character changes don't justify hating Mind Over Mutant. The gameplay is the most important, and it was great. The story/characters had potential, but the jokes killed it's chance.

Character and story are a huge part of enjoyment to me; when they're good, I can forgive a LOT (I'm a Silent Hill fan, for crying out loud, and most of those games literally have tank controls) but when they fail as hard as MOM did (and don't even get me started on the stupid art design in cutscenes), it ruins all enjoyment I could have. Seeing Cortex and (worse) Brio mutilated like that just kills any joy the game might have brought.

Console version is a classic Spyro experience, 3DS version is something like an Hybrid between Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure 2, with the option of switching between two characters during the level (3DS Portal of Power works differently from the other ones: he can load two Skylanders into the game and change characters only in the hub, while the normal one hosts only a character-two in battle mode or co-op- and you can change it at every time)
