  • is this whole discusion on youtube?

  • down with the republicunts

  • LOL Hitch is just too good. :)

  • At least when Reagan supported illegal wars he came up with an illegal way to pay for it. That's the only nice thing I can say about him and the more I think about it it's a damn good quality. If we have to have stupid government doing stupid shit well, the least they could do is come up with a sleazy way to pay for it. You know, apart from the sleazy why they have come up with today which is me and all the generations that follow me to pay for our parent's lack of awareness.

  • Regan rules and he had the soviet union scared to pieces. During that time there was no other country even close to us militarily and no president is perfect. But he was one of the best and I don't think anyone would choose Obama over him with the situation were in. Obama has proven in his time he is not the man.

  • @CoolNightSky

Ronald ReaClown was the one who first deregulated the banks what a great legacy he left the whole world......global financial meltdown.

  • @SirHappyThe1st

if ronald reagan deregulated everything, howcome regulation has grow exponentially since even before him? howcome under reagan the government nearly doubled in size, like the dep. of education? if he really deregulated the banking industry (which is nonsense) please tell me which regulations you're talking about. because i can't find any.

  • @ApocDevTeam

You seem to know nothing about american history or economics.

Before the Reagon revolution in the 80`s commercial banking and investment banking were separate he deregulated the banking and financial industry as part of his supply side economics or trickle down theory which basically means minimal government and leave everything to the market.

Only since 2008 has there begun a trend to roll back what he did

    Look it up its FACT.

  • @SirHappyThe1st

so basically what you're saying is that the whole deregulation thing is just one thing: the seperation of commercial banks and investment banks?

maybe you've forgotten about the fact that obama supports the federal reserve central bank in extending credit at the cost of devaluating the currency. this 'easy credit' is the fuel that other banks gamble with ('08 housing bubble). the problem here is the fed, not seperation of the types of banks.

  • @SirHappyThe1st It was actually Clinton who ended the division between banks and investment firms. The process may have begun under Reagan but it was Clinton who put it into effect. Look it up.

  • @WalterLiddy

Legislation passed by the federal government during the 1980s, such as the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 and the Garn–St. Germain Depository Institutions Act of 1982, diminished the distinctions between banks and other financial institutions in the United States.

This legislation is frequently referred to as "deregulation," and it is often blamed for the failure of over 500 savings and loan associations between 1980 and 1988

    cont

  • @WalterLiddy

    cont

the subsequent failure of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (FSLIC) whose obligations were assumed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1989.

So it was Reagan that started it all sorry mate.

  • Speaking from a libertarian viewpoint, Reagan was a hypercrit.

  • Reagan is still the worst president the US has ever had.

  • Im willing to bet the woman at the 2 minute mark is currently blaming President Obama for the deficit. Politics is so stupid yet so captivating.

  • @eric2dea

so obama spending trillions of dollars more then they get from taxes is somehow the blame of republicans?

    lol

  • @ApocDevTeam What people are blaming Obama for economy? I guess that is why the GOP debate is full of civil rights issue and not a single echo on economy.

  • Not hint of corruption? Around Reagan? Coke going up all the youths' of America nostrils, Iran-Contra? What? lol Let me sum up the 1980's under Reagan. Do all the drugs from your South American "allies", open the Mexican border permanently, sell arms to Iran and Iraq simultaneously in a bloodfest, sell manufacturing out to China over 8 years, have Ed Meese set up prison labor internment camps for poor drug violators, and start fiddling with banking ethics as in the Keating 5, warming to 2012!

  • In addition to selling weapons to Iran, he also hosted Taliban leaders in the white house and said "These gentlemen are the moral equivalents of America's founding fathers".

  • @nurb101 Right, and Afghan weed poured into the US also at that time. (not that there's anything wrong with that, better that than the heroin they deal now). But then, using mercenaries came to it's inevitable end... a bitter split over spoils- land, resources, other interests, etc. and the 'Freedom Fighters' converted to some other terminology, a brand new bogey-man--TALIBAN! ooh...I'm shaking already.

  • Be a movie star and people are dumb enough to elect you because of your looks. Sad

  • Hitchens just shat on Reagan.

  • Glad someone else remembered Ronald Regan's true 'legacy'.....

  • "You can't say anything bad about President Reagan."

    LOL

  • @HerrMichaelKohlhaas NEVVVVEEEEERR!!!!! REAGAN IS GODD!!!!!. i love it. reagan somehow stopped being a politician and became a demigod to the concervatives

  • Do I really have to be the one?

    Really?

    ... Fine...

    HITCH-SLAP!!!

  • Tom Davis is full of shit. The Reagan administration was one of the most corrupt administrations in the history of the USA.

  • Ronald Reagan sucks. I hope he rots in hell.

  • God bless Christopher Hitchens.

  • @WKRPinCINN IRONY!

  • nice tags

  • Did Thomas Davis just say that Reagan had no hint of corruption around him? Did I step through a wormhole this morning? Auntie Em??? Auntie Em???

  • @eirefrance noooo, the iran contra scandall must have been under the carter administration.. because dear old ronnie can do no wrong..

  • THAT DUDE IS A LIAR...HAHAHAHA...MOST OF THE REAGAN ADMINISTRATION ARE CRIMINALS AND CONVICTED FELONS

  • @buakawkaoklai lower case please, when agreeing with the Hitch you use a scalpal not a butcher knife.

  • @MickyG4444 FUCK BITCHENS ASWELL ...HE IS A IDIOT A RACIST AND A WARMONGER...

  • @buakawkaoklai tisk tisk, gafaw hooey. There you see I have become a faggot

  • rest in piss hitch.. btw ahmedinijed wouldnt be threatening to shut the straight of hormuz if gw was in office.

  • The title for this as it appears in the thumbnail is "Christopher Hitchens Dispels Ronald Reagan". It think it would be best just left at that.

  • While Raygun was not the rabid, crazed idealogue that most Rethugs are today he set the stage for W's dispicable eight years -- and policies that have nearly destroyed this country.

  • No hint of corruption?over 280 indictments and more than 150 convictions in his administration and thats not including the Iran Contra affair!Intentional deficets to slop austerity programs against the poor. This fascist son of a bitch was one of the worst presidents in 150 years and should have been impeached. But instead the right has lionized and distorted his legacy as the savior of democracy. What total bullshit!

  • I have became a fan of Christopher Hitchens in the last few days. However, it must be stated that he had no interest in economics. Yet he can be seen taking positions on youtube videos in 2005 and 2006 arguing against people who were complaining about deficits (ie the opposite position he is taking here) and arguing against people who were criticising the Euro.

So for him to criticise the Gipper on economics, he is out of his depth. David Stockman is worth a read though.

  • 1.26 - Ouch.

  • Perhaps people should read Hitch's most recent article on Reagan. I think I read it on the National Post, where Christopher described him as a "simple-minded genius."

Now, he really changed over the years, didn't he?

Anyway, R.I.P. Hitch. Your words live on.

  • @324wilson not really. the only thing he changed his mind about was whether walter mondale would have gotten better results as president concerning us-soviet relations.

in fact he made a point in the article to state that he doesn't "un-say" any of the attacks on reagan he made in the past. he didn't change any of the views he presented in this youtube video.

  • I agree with Hitchens, every time people talk about the "Great Reagan" they forget about the Iran-Contra.

  • 1:26 And here comes the curbstomp.

  • Hitch had all the info,,,,,,,as usual,,,,, total recall,,,,,they just sat there I roared

  • Hitchens was a negativist. He seemingly hated everything good and belittled all who opposed him. He now has the answer to the ultimate question.

  • @torchwoody58 no we call that being right, cant blame the man for exposing stupidity

and no he has no ultimate answer he is dead

  • @torchwoody58 It's not true, he wrote positive books on Jefferson, Paine and Orwell.

And of course he pushed very much for secularism and was anti-totalitarian, both very good positions.

  • @torchwoody58 Dead people don't have to answer anymoe questions becuase THEY'RE DEAD! Once the human brain stops receiving blood your life is over and that's that. I'm sorry if REALITY sounds so negative to you, but not everything can be dumbed down and said with a smile.

  • Only the good die young.

  • RIP Hitch.

  • I love how Hitchens simply "Fucking Owns" Fools !!!

  • Reagan lowered the bar for Conservatives so low that Bush got in.

  • @Pfsif Wasn't Bush 1 actually very high in the CIA while Reagan was being 'selected' to carry the Warmonger Torch? Then Bush 1 simply took over the Crown and offered it to his son via the Supreme Court? All building up to the Fascist Police State we see today, with another 'selected' King, who happens to appease the righteous anger of black America - by deceiving them into believing he will actually change anything. More of the same since Nixon - or say Johnson, who initiated the Fascist Coup.

  • @Pfsif Indeed, he helped the religious fundamentalist hijack conservatism to suit their own needs, and now we have the monstrosity that we call the Republicans, who only cater to their corporate overlords, with the occasional rhetorical bone thrown at poor fundamentalists who don't know which end is up

  • not corrupt to sell Weapons to Iran?

  • The effort to undermine and destroy Labor Unions peaked in "The Reagan Years." The Reagan State made it very clear that it would not enforce the law, The 1935 Wagner Act, or National Labor Relations Act, so that was "carte blanche" to employers to just carry out criminal actions and fire anyone who even breathed "Union" under their breath. Hitchens is right, Reagan engaged in criminal conspiracies. I lived through "Reagan Years," and only Margaret Thatcher succeeded in smashing workers better!

  • @CosmicFork I'm not fan of Reagan, but I do like Thatcher. You're right, she did a marvelous job of disrupting the economy stifling power of unions.

  • @StudentOfObjectivism Yeah, it's just great when the elites get richer, more powerful and more repressive every minute, while the masses become weaker, more alienated and more uneducated. NOT! Your notion of "ethical egotism," that what people ought to do (morally) is promote their own individual interests exclusively leads to a nightmarish society. Because that means we all ought to be selfish, (all the time) everytime! Needless to say, Ayn Rands arguments for this position are ludicrous.

  • @CosmicFork Nice, sentences. Comma.

  • You tell 'em, Hitch!

  • It seems to me the only people who praise Reagan and Thacher are the ones who got rich quick in the housing boom or on the stock exchange. I wasn't one of them, which is why I'm not especially fond of either.

  • You gotta love the incredible hypocrisy of Republicans. When Reagan triples the national debt, it's not his fault. It was the Democratic Congress. When Obama increases the national debt, it's entirely HIS fault...not the Republican Congress.

  • @emantabrizi The hypocracy of democrats that whenever Clinton and Obama bomb people its just and right. But have it be any of the Bushes and its a war crime and about money and control etc.

Btw i think all wars are rackets. None of them since WW2 should have been fought. Saudi Arabia is anti-democratic and has one of the most oppresive regims on the Earth. America is ok with it. N.Korea has nuclear weapons & threatens to use them, attacked a western ally and cruel to its people. A.OK with the US

  • @NicosMind ... I think you responded to the wrong person. I never said anything like that. Peace.

  • @emantabrizi You were talking about the hypocracy of republicans and debt. I was talking about the hypocracy of democrats and war.

Or at least the precieved hypocracy

  • W000000 GO REAGAN!!!!!

  • All of his complaints against Regan.... Has any president been different since? With wars, CIA coups, drug money, and corruption and special interest being looked after at the expense of the people i definitely dont see a difference.

But the thing that gets me. All his complaints about Regan. Did Regan know that was going on and order it done? Or did it just happen under his command? Cause Regan was probably the laziest president America has ever seen.

    Correlation doesnt mean cause.

  • @NicosMind No, he circumvented congress and of his own, personal volition orchestrated the secret sale of American missiles to Iran so he could use the money from that to fund the murderous Contra guerillas in Nicaragua because he preferred their Fascist ideology to the governing Sandinistas Cuban style communism. This wasn't the US government, it was Reagan specifically, they wouldn't give him the taxpayer money to fund the Contras so he did this by himself with the help of Colonel Oliver North

  • @Mehtaphorical Well if all of that is true. And theres proof. It still makes him no different than any other president since. Each one of them have been a war monger. I wish people both left and right will stop saying that their wars are just. While the others are about money, greed and power.

  • @NicosMind Oh, there's absolutely proof, this was mainstream news at the time, not some conspiracy business. If you'd like to gain a better understanding of what happened look up Iran-Contra scandal.

  • @Mehtaphor Well one thing i know a bit about was all the CIA coups. Which is disgusting. And ive heard a lot about "Confessions of a financial terrorist". How someone working for the IMF went around the 3rd world offering countries seemingly cheap loans to build up countries, racked up the interest rates, and had tied into the contracts that that money was to be be used on western companies and not their own.

So i believe you. Ive just found in my time that people very often jump to conclusions.

  • i hate reagan, only Hitchens could dispel the over-praised president

  • Awww, I wanted to hear Hitchens's debate with the churchlady

  • "No hint of corruption" in the Reagan administration? That's comedy.

  • Whatever happened to this Hitchens?

  • @ExodusPessoa Christopher Hitchens is still alive but dying of cancer of the esophagus. You can check him out on Wikipedia. I think he's a hero.

  • Hitchens is a mean and disingenuous soul...and clearly enjoys being such. Like most of his ilk, he selectively uses facts and/or statistics to prove minor points on major issues. He's clearly an intellect, but it'd be nice to put him up against an equal...such as Bill Buckley. I think he'd be less smug in the presence of intellectual competition.

  • @JTHSanDiego Bill Buckley is dead, so good luck with that one. As for his using all of those pesky Facts and Statistics...well, you on the Right love to make ad hominem attacks on dastardly intellectuals who employ such withcraft and sorcery to destroy all of your childish hagiographies about Reagan, don't you? But, curiously, you never seem to be able to refute their basic assertions about your idol's lack of heft without attacking the messenger who bears bad news.

  • @harshlight7 Buckley is dead, you're right. Hitchens soon will be as will you and I, so how is your comment relevant? Regardless, have we met? Do you know I'm on the Right? Wow, who knew you could be so prescient! Please, give me some of your basic assertions so that they can be refuted...which shouldn't be too difficult. Oh, and your tone is also mean spirited...are you Bill Maher's illegitimate offspring? Oh, sorry...didn't mean to hurt your self esteem there, Slappy.

  • driverfucker?

  • Gee, another ignorant, lying, smearing, deceiving, full of shit libtard! Imagine that!

  • @falcondriver100 falconfucker

  • @akanoez Oh and yet ANOTHER genius! Snappy comment man!! Bravo bravo!

  • @falcondriver100 And yet you have not even attempted to refute even his most basic of postulates. Was it Hannity or Limbaugh who deluded you into believing that you had a mind capable of crossing swords with that of Mr. Hitchens?

  • @harshlight7 Could that be because I didn't even bother to watch this sillyness? I know the man & he's a liberal retard, much like you are, sir!

Not sure If my mind is capable of "crossing swords" with Mr Moron, but I'm sure that in the battle of the wits, YOU are unarmed.

  • [Fr. World Future Fund: The Death Toll in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War of 1898: The overall cost in human lives of American actions in the Philippines was horrific. One scholar has concluded concerning the American occupation that: "In the fifteen years that followed the defeat of the Spanish in Manila Bay in 1898, more Filipinos were killed by U.S. forces than by the Spanish in 300 years of colonization. Over 1.5 million died out of a total population of 6 million."]

  • Reagan didn't help take the "Wall" down, not even a brick, Perestroika took the "wall" down. period.

  • Reagan signed into law the biggest tax increase in our history mostly fell on the middle class. 200 people in his administration were indited for various forms of corruption.

  • the senator at 1:47, man the way he looks at Hitchens is like he is trying to set his "big fat english head on fire" haha. Hitchens, will not only crush your imaginary god, he will crush your political one as well!!!

  • reagan cut the taxes, and that's were the debt came from...KILL THE BEAST

  • ahhhh I love to watch Hitch bitch--slap the morons.

  • It's notable that when the Republicans are in office it's spend spend spend but when Democrats get in there they say oh oh oh the deficit . Democrats rule .

    Democrats = Economy

    Republicans = War .

The deliberate disrespect towards Obama have me thinking he may need 4 more to make up for the past 4 , what do you think rednecks ?

  • Seems to me that the conservatives want and need credulous people which they know they can manipulate . Republicans can not and will not regain power in 2012 , we must see that these war mongers are shut down and that money is used here not abroad . Taking money out of our pockets and injecting it into the military when we need it here .

  • @Earroten The Republicans are going to win the next election you know that, right?

  • When the Soviet Union broke up the majority of the credit was given to Gorbechev and Reagan not so much. It's only taken Republican spin doctors a little over 20 years to rewrite history. Reagan's Iran/Contra scheme is almost never mentioned while it certainly should have caused his impeachment. Given another 20 years and they'll add his face to Mr. Rushmore.

  • reagan was a terrible president

  • God doez not exist, but hell DOES. If assertions by (google) Dr. Azzacove

and Dr. Maurice Rawlings wont convince you, nothing will.

  • Reagan fanboys get schooled

  • @theyeti101101 A bunch of empty/baseless words by a blow hard won't school anyone.

    Be a follower more.

  • AWESOME 1:50

  • Dwight Eisenhower the last true conservative Republican president, in my opinion, that was worth a damn and guess how much he taxed the rich? 90 percent ladies and gentlemen, and guess what he warned us about when he was leaving the presidency the office, one of many things thats making us fall apart today, MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX. Bright man, i didnt agree with putting god on the dollar or the pledge or allowing the red scare to happen but that was all congress and senators.

  • Love the look on the face of the Republican toadie at 1:45. Priceless to see one of these worthless boot-licking scumfucks get a commeuppance. Stuff like this -- putting Repugnantklans in their proper foul-smelling place -- no longer happens on television.

In the words of the French Revolution "Off with their heads!"

Ronald Reagan was the scum of the Earth. I'd piss on his fucking grave but the scumfuck is not worthy of my piss.

  • Hitchslapped by the truth!!!

  • Can anyone point me to a video where Hitchens is saying anything positive about anything? He is always so negative. I wonder if he suffers from depression or something.

  • @YesYou123333 look up hitchens on orwell

  • @retnuHDJ You call that positive? No, I mean somewhere where Hitches is smiling and laughing. It seems the whole world is a cesspool to him. Cheer up Hitch!

  • @YesYou123333 Listen or read what he's said about George Orwell, or Thomas Jefferson, or Charles Darwin or Abraham Lincoln, or Salmon Rushdie.or Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Hitch speaks very foundly of those who oppose tyranny.

  • @AHPMB You're missing my point. Doesn't he ever speak about something that's not so depressing? Does he have a book about his time spent on a trip down the Colorado river? Maybe a book entitled, "My Trip Down The Colorado And Why Life Is Beautiful". Something like that? He's just so depressing. He does nothing but talk about depressing matters. Does he ever speak about his family?

  • @YesYou123333 He's a political commentator and professional polemicist, so no, he generally doesn't write uplifting feel-good tripe. There are plenty of other authors out there who do specialize in such things, maybe you should look them up.

  • @AHPMB No wonder he seems so depressed. Maybe he should consider writing some "feel-good tripe." It might cheer him up a little. At least it would help me to not feel so depressed when I listened to him. C'mon, Hitch. Life isn't all that bad.

  • @YesYou123333 I'm not sure where you get the impression that he's depressed. Hitchens debates with more enthusiasm and energy, even when dying of stage 4 cancer, than almost anyone I know. Perhaps you should educate yourself a bit, rather than pass judgment on the man's psyche based on one Youtube video.

  • There was no hint of corruption around the president under Reagan?!? What about the Iran-Contra affair that he ok'd? I think that qualifies...

  • Reaganism is a religion for these guys.

  • Reagan is the most over praised president of all time. He went back on his economic policy in his second term, he takes credit for the fall of the Berlin wall, a historic event which would have taken place regardless, and the very idea of trickle down economics is laughed at by 9 out of 10 professional economists today. He's right up there with Jesus is terms of undeserved praise.

  • @Drudy90 Jesus is way more deserving than Reagan. Also see the crack trade and his activities as CA governor.

  • @Drudy90 reagan, kennedy, and bill clinton are three of the most over praised presidents of all time. People act like Reagan was the guy who ended communism single-handedly, unfortunately forgetting the sacrifices people all over eastern europe made to get rid of their moscow cronies. people forget that all the "civil rights" that kennedy pushed for, well he really didn't man up to do them...the vp who everyone blames for vietnam was the one who got it through after kennedy took one to the face

  • @Drudy90 and clinton wasted time trying to protect muslims in bosnia and kosovo, the same scumbags who are openly anti-american and trying to kill american soldiers (see shooting in germany), claiming to stop a "genocide." meanwhile, 500,000 rwandans get wiped off the face of the earth and clinton does nothing but sit on his fat fucking redneck hands...

FUCK REAGAN, FUCK KENNEDY AND FUCK CLINTON

  • @fluffynoses ... Not 500,000...ONE MILLION Rwandans were systematically exterminated.

  • @emantabrizi there ya go...more reason to hate that arkansas fuck

  • @Drudy90 and you forgot union busting, deregulation that caused the savings & loans/junk bond debacle and facilitation of cable monopolies. and there is even more than that.

  • @Drudy90 I agree Reagan was over rated and his economics were awful, the bailout of the S and L too, was not good. Berlin Wall? Collapse of the USSR? I believed that was a scam also, until lately. I came across an article about ambassador Leo Wanta. Reagan gave him a large sum of money to engineer the collapse of the USSR thru banks playing a shell game buying rubles, converting them to other national currencies. Anyway, look up the Wanta Plan that myth may be accurate after all ...peace

  • @Drudy90 Hey, at least Jesus tried to get ppl. to treat eachother well.

  • THIS HITCHIN GUY IS SO NEGATIVE, EVERYTIME YOU HEAR HIM. ITS APPARENT HE HAS SOME KIND OF ISSUE GOING ON. HERE YOU HAVE A GUY WHO IS FAMOUS FOR WHAT? BEING AN ARMCHAIR QUARTERBACK FOR SOME IRRELEVANT MAGAZINE, CRITICISING OTHERS, YET HE ACHIEVED NO GREATNESS IN HIS OWN LIFE. CHECK OUT HIS DEBATES AGAINST CHRISTIANS, THAT SAYS IT ALL.

  • @severnkenpo You mean the debates where he intellectually demolishes Christians?

  • @severnkenpo Why do you type in all caps like a retarded child? It only makes you seem desperate...

  • Anybody who thinks Reagan was a good president or an intelligent man simply has a pea sized brain....

  • Did anyone else notice the Republican praise Reagen for the great economy, and just about in the same sentence, fault the Democrats for the deficit because Congress "holds the purse strings." So who gets credit for the economy: Reagen, or Congress?

  • @Empty0Set

yes, retarded arguments like these are made by conservatives all the time. Welcome to life

  • Reagan was in the top 3 of the greatest Presidents of all time.. When someone bashes Reagan that shows there level of intellect.. Reagan was hugely popular for a good reason... He was incredible... Leftists want to spin Reagan.. It can't be done... The numbers and results speak for themselves.. Idiot leftists.. They are a joke..

  • Top economist from the 40s on predicted the collapse of the USSR. Reagan expanded the debt and agenda of the progressive conservatives (Nixon guys) that filled his cabinet. He also armed Iran, Bin laden, and made some defense contractors and drug cartels rich. He tried to speak like Goldwater, but he killed the last remains of true conservatism that Nixon didn't give to the chinese. It's myopic to think reagan destroyed communism. The USSR was built an a false premise.

  • First off, I think the comment Hitchens made in the beginning about Reagan's not being currently mentally competent is vile. By 1996 Reagan was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer so that comment was completely uncalled for. 2nd, I'm sick and tired of the bullshit people use to break apart Reagan administration without looking at it in the context of that period. Our single greatest threat was Soviet communism and Reagan destroyed it. Fuck Hitchen's myopic view.

  • @captwasabi

Except that Capitalism did and continues to do significantly more damage than Communism ever did. Communism was a wolf your government used to scare sheep like yourself.

  • @Apathyist Right. Another one of you moronic "capitalism is evil, communism is the best" morons. Sadly, reality does not fit with your warped logic. China has had to turn to a capitalism styled market in order to stave off mass revolution and Cuba is following suit. LULZ. And do yourself afavor. Don't condescend to me by calling me a sheep. Try to not be that douche bag. Communism sucks. Capitalism works.

  • @captwasabi

I don't recall stating that Communism is "the best" or that Capitalism is evil? Is English your first language?

And, yes, Capitalism works. That has little to do with America, however, since America is does not employ Capitalist system. Or, at the very least, it's a warped, corrupted verson of one.

  • @Apathyist Of course you said it. Right when you said that capitalism did and continues to do significantly more damage than communism. It's quite clear what you are implying. Too bad you're dead fucking wrong. But please, do keep about with your bullshit anti-American stupidity.

    I need the lulz.

  • @captwasabi

Again, is English your first language? The fact that Capitalism in its current state is flawed and easily corrupted does not equate to my stating that it's "evil" or that Communism is "the best".

Clearly, judging by the state of Americas economy, there are plenty of flaws with Capitalism. And, yes, wealthy individuals under the guise of Capitalism have done significantly more damage than Communism has ever done. Take off your blinkers and go buy a calculator.

  • @Apathyist Riiiiight. So the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is doing some serious damage.Warren Buffets pledge to give 99% of his wealth to philanthropic foundations is really causing damage.

Man, you are so fucking stupid it's pathetic.

You can pretend to some intellectual superiority all you want and make idiotic comments to my wearing blinders but the cold, hard truth is that you're as dumb as dirt.

Now go away child. You are dismissed.

  • @captwasabi

And.. what? Anti-American? Where did that come from? I think you're reading some imaginary conversation in your head and then applying it to my comments.

The fact that I disagree with you on Reagen and think Capitalism is flawed makes me Anti-American? You're aware that America does not have a monopoly on Capitalism, right? And that there are other places in the world? Check out a map. They're everywhere.

  • @Apathyist Again the jackass is pretending to be intellectually superior. Anyway, I've dealt with more than enough of you pseudo-intellectual, anti-American, pro-communism asshats to know what you're really trying to argue.

Either way, there is nothing more I can gain from trying to educate you. You prefer to remain ignorant.

  • @captwasabi

No worries, tangent man. It seems like you don't need a second party to participate in your imaginary conversation, anyway.

  • @captwasabi

    PS,

. . . and I don't need to condescend to you by calling you names. Your ignorant commentary does the job well enough.

  • @captwasabi

    PS,

Reagan did not destroy Communism. The corruption and unsustainability of the USSR destroyed it. All America did was puff out it's chest and invade utterly inconsequential Asian countries in the middle of no-where.

  • @Apathyist Yeah he did and you know it. First off, Reagan was able to convince the Saudi's to greatly increase production. This had the result of dropping oil prices to 1/3 of their original levels. This has drastic affects on the Soviet's revenue. Increased defense spending, the Regan Doctrine and, later, diplomacy with Gorbachev all led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. I don't give a rats ass if you want to acknowledge it but those are the facts.

  • @captwasabi

The USSR collapsed because they couldn't afford to maintain the arms race. It would have happened with or without Reagan. Take your blinkers off, brosef.

  • @Apathyist There was no arms race without Reagan dumbshit. The USSR outpaced us in nuclear and conventional arms. They had enough planes and anti-air missiles to dominated the European skies and enough tanks to dominate a European land wars. In nukes they out paced us almost 5:1.

    Take your blinders off jackwagon.

  • Another good thing Reagan did besides negotiating wit the ussr was domestic policy.Reagan had the greatest foreign policy and domestic policy of any president! He said in his inaguaral adress in 1980,''after all we are all Americans''. Everyone with any sense knows how great Ronald Reagan was! ask anyone who is christopher hitchens? 9 out of 10 people never heard of the bum hitchens.

  • @olivemike81--When Reagan became president the ussr had us out-numbered 6 to 1 in nuclear weapons,so Reagan had to negotiate using sdi [strategic defense initiative] to scare the soviets into eliminating nuclear weapons, and it worked! What Reagan did had to be the greatest accomplishment of any president ever! the communist manifesto stated they wanted to take over the world with their godless system.btw i think Lincoln and Clinton were good presidents.Clinton and Gingrich = good welfare reform

  • @slr1238

The "Godlessness" of Communism was the best part?

  • Yeah, no corruption, except for that whole Iran/Conctra thing.
