  • this is one of the gambits which you are better of accepting it

  • always i give to dicsount Gambit but he not accept. he say hahahah try again. :(

  • this is a bullshit

  • I have won a Queen from the same position for 11 times{W=10, L=1}. Wins 4 between player rating 1215 & 1278. Lost against 1199.

  • 1/45 - and if black puts bishop in B4?

  • NO

    BODY

    IS

    DUMB

    ENOUGH

    TO

    FALL

    FOR

THIS!!!! and no sicilian player would ever fall for this.

  • holy crap the board is 2 fuzzy O_O O_O O_O O_O O_O omg.

  • black should play 5...e6 to prevent the trap.

  • Good Video. Thanks for the lesson.

  • Most people would just trade off the queens. This would work maybe sub 1400

  • Dumb.

  • well its a good observation that sacrifice for those who use the sicilian but also i want to add a comment for the correct move that meabe i will use its after e5 i will go back with my knigth with Kd7, and also add something else i wouldn`t take the first to pawns from the beggining because im just opening the whites play and im getting stuck behind just for a pawn

  • i dont think ppl would take that pawn right at the end

  • genius!!!!

  • If your opponent offers you something for free, be suspicious as Chess reflects real life! There are no lies or hypocracy on a chessboard!

  • black won't usually take the pawn, even if there wasn't a bishop there if the queens were traded black couldn't castle anymore

  • nice :D

  • good trap which is why Nc6 is the proper opening move. IT wouldn't take seeing that trap or being some tactician genius too see that, rather you move that kight to top the threat or potential of white moving his pawn to e5 while also developing a knight which can't hurt. This is why positionally smart people don't fall for things like this often but a beginner intermediate might be easily destroyed.

  • i like this

  • It sort of makes me want to cry on the inside that one of the highest rated comments is "never resign". Not resigning in a hopeless position is an insult to your opponent, and a waste of both of your time.

  • the main line for black isn't Nf6 but to play pawn to e6. Stops that trap cold...

  • Anyone smart enough to know how to use the sicilian defense wont fall for this.

  • @DrPhr0 thats what you think. the importance of this gambit is that it takes black out of the usual sicilian lines and gets him out of his comfort zone.

  • @kuyarey2k9 It assumes your opponent is smart when you want him to be and stupid when not. It's a kinda cool thing to do when get past the mine field but more often than not it'll blow up in your face.

  • that is a jerk move(thats good)

  • This video is very similar to the Magnus Smith trap. Look up the Magnus Smith trap here on youtube by video maker jrobichess.

  • @WeAreBorg359 actually the Magnus Smith trap is when the black queen comes to a5 with check

  • Simply playing 7.Nfd7 black will prevent the trap... but still white will keep the advantage. At any rate, I'd personally never play 4...d6 here...

  • Yeah but ther way to many moves to this and black wouldn't do g7 to g6

  • black can play ng4 and is still alive. if e6 then maybe ne5. 1 e4 e5 2 d4 ed 3 c3 dc 4 Bc4 cb 5 Bb2 d5 6 Bd5 Nf6 7 Nc3 Nd5 8 Nd5 c6 9 Nf6 gf6 10 Qd8 Kd8 11 Bf6 i played this as white countless times. people are so horrble at chess
  • @bloughmyhawk Hey. even after ng4 black has a strategically lost position.Might sound harsh to you but white just has to make normal calm moves and look how blacks position collapses, though still its not easy.I played Morra-gambit very often when i was below 2000 elo. But after one tournament i turned my back to this opening for some reasons:

    1. you have a big body of theory and black can decline the gambit easily getting familiar positions

    2. Its not very effective against stronger players

  • Comment removed

  • never resign inchess. players are fallablle just like you.

  • maybe only class players would make such a move

  • @Mr1700 Lol. That's one of the dumbest things you could ever say. There are times when resignation is proper and very necessary. By not resigning in an obviously lost position you're just making yourself look like a fool.

  • Why we must go with pawn infront queen i go with knight in that situation!!!!

  • hi guys! yonaton here.lmao..

sounds so gay. nice vids tho.

  • yeah that's right lol

  • I do like this, but my first sign not to take e5 would be that white could exchange queens and black can forget about castling... So I don't think many people, even at novice level, would take this... but nice trap if they do ;-)

  • what if instead of moving the knight, the black moves pawn to d4?

  • Should someone encounter this as Black, the main line after 4. Nxc3 is 4. ... Nc6 5. Nf3 d6 6. Bc4 e6 (this move denies the trap seen in the video) 7. 0-0 Nf6 with a balanced position.

  • I've seen similar traps come from other openings as well, such as Petroff's (for black).

  • This man is on drugs. Slurring constantly

  • Black's move as shown here (queen's pawn to D6) is a foolish move and I don't see how it follows naturally in this situation. Black could also play Kc6 and be in a better position.

  • Kc6?

    ... the hell?

    You mean Nc6?

And the Morra gambit isn't bad for white.

  • it is a pretty good idea but wont work against an opponent with foresight

  • No traps work against opponents with foresight. In fact, if an opponent has enough foresight you won't be able to win at all xD.

  • Will it work on an opponent with hindsight?

  • black would never play like this. that might work in a blitz against someone rated under 1100. pointless.

  • Actually it works better in the Sicilian Dragon (see Magnus Smith trap). Even Fischer himself has used this trap opening as white.

  • This works if black is stupid enough.

  • clever trap :)

  • Wouldn't black just trade queens before taking the bishop and be a piece up?

  • black is in check, the only way to get out of check is to take the bishop with the king

  • Why would black play ...d6 after the Morra Gambit is accepted?

  • to deploy the bishop... common sense....

  • 4...d6 is quite commonly played. 4...Nc6 and 4...e6 are probably the only moves played with greater frequency.

As well as activating the Bc8, ...d6 allows more control of the crucial e5 square. After 5.Bc4...e6 is probably best for Black.

  • wow what a genius .. i dream to be 40% of hem .. i'm good in chess .. but i want to improve my self ...

i feel that i can be a very good player

can u guys tell me how i can

  • Once you learn all the rules of chess, concentrate on tactics. "Back to Basics: Chess Tactics" by Dan Heisman is good, as is "Winning Chess Tactics" by Yasser Sierawan.

You also need to learn basic opening principles:

    1) Open with a centre pawn

    2) Make as few pawn moves as possible

    3) Don't bring your queen out early

    4) Castle early - preferably kingside

    5) Plan to take control of the centre

    6) Develop whilst making threats

    7) Try not to move the same piece twice

    Hope that helps :)

  • sir stephencollyer thank you very much

  • kind of looks like a half spanish gambit

  • The Danish gambit (1.e4...e5 2.d4...exd4 3.c3...dxc3 4.Bc4...cxb2 5.Bxb2) has some similarities.

  • If you wanna see a great Queen trap take a look to US ch. 1958 match between Bobby Fischer and Samuel Reshevsky. He found the trap between two unknown in a Soviet magazine.

  • I would play b5 instead of taking the poisoned pawn.

  • After 6...b5?? you'd lose your knight for a pawn.

  • 6...b5?! 7. exf6 bxc4

  • 6...b5??

    7.Bxb5+...Nfd7 (or...Bd7 8.exf6...Bxb5 9.Nxb5...Qa5+ 10.Nc3)

    8.Qf3!

And black is going down unless you see something I don't.

I'm certain 6...Ng4 is best in this line.

  • 7. Bxb5+ Nbd7 so the rook can escape. Black loses a knight to get a pawn with 8. exf6 gxf6. Then 9. Qd5! Bb7, 10. Qxb7 Rb8. A bishop is lost but the queen must retreat unless I am missing something. Its still a bad game for Black to get into, but all is not lost.

On second thought, I believe I might try 6...Nfd7.

  • Yes.

6...Nfd7 looks stronger. Leading to 7.e6...fxe6 8.Bxe6...Nf6 9.Bb3...e6 10.Nf3 with black retaining the pawn & white having good chances.

Best to avoid though, by going into a standard black defence earlier; ie 1.e4...c5 2.d4...cxd4 3.c3...dxc3 4.Nxc3...d6 5.Bc4...Nc6 6.Nf3...a6! and white is in for a tough fight.

  • I wouldn't give a6 a !...its just a sound move, nothing really brilliant that I see.

  • In the line 1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.c3 dxc3 4.Nxc3 d6 5.Bc4 Nc6 6.Nf3, 6...a6! is, in practice the single best move on the board. It's a high-class waiting move, preventing white playing Nb5, prepares a possible cramping ...b5 & gives black by far the best database results in the Morra.

Just do a check with this line on any online database & also other various 6th moves for black.

  • damn...good trap!!!!

  • that was good.

  • thanks for the response let me know if you see anything like this on the web, id love to see something similar but more in depth

  • Awesome

  • It's good in 5 minute blitz as well.

I won in 9 moves against a 1450 with a slightly different move-order from black but the exact same deflection check theme.

The moves ...d6 & ...Nf6 are so attractive looking to a Sicilian Defence player & I think they often analyse that after e5...dxe5 the worst that can happen is the queens get taken off with black now 2 pawns up, but losing the right to castle. Bxf7+! is easily missed.

    Big mistake!

    :)
