Oh, what crawled up your behind to make you say that..this was an awesome piece, and would have worked very well for Loving based on my explanation above. If you explore the further work of Rick Rhodes you would not be calling his work shit.
I'm sorry man for that comment. I was just pissed because I couldn't find the version Jeffrey Osborne did. I love that version. I think this was the version after his.
Yes it was. I remember because I used to watch it back in High School. When the guy that used to be on All My Children Jeremy joined the show. I taped the theme and everything. I know what I am talking about because that's the first time I heard the theme with Jeffrey.
You had mentioned that the theme music heard here was the version after Osborne's, when in fact this was used on Guiding Light, not Loving. This soap was cancelled when Jeffrey Osbrone's theme was still officially in use.
Thanks! When this GL theme was first introduced, many people I discussed it with online immediately detected the six notes midway through the tune, that were the exact matchup of the "L-O-V-I-N-G" notes from Loving's Jeffrey Osborne theme. We all screamed "RIPOFF!" at John Conboy (who was producing GL at the time) and at Rick Rhodes, even though he is a talented composer. From then on, I always envisioned this song a perfect fit for a later Loving theme, had the show continued past 1995.
There's ONE good thing about Bill Rice -- he is no longer at ABC. Thank God for that! :)

You actually didn't like him? Why? He, Ernie Anderson and George Ansbro were ABC legends..

RIP Rick Rhodes....I can be the one who can say I was not TOO fond of that GL opening, but it fits here. Great concept and great job!

He died? When?? Rick was so young and the composer of such trendy sounding jazz.
VaultMasterDBT 3 years ago
He died in November 2005.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I must read up about that..it's shocking. Coincidentally, GL used his theme for the last time in November 2005.

that is what I first said about it when I heard of his passing, it was a very strange coincedence, albeit eerie.

Ok then. Thanks for setting me straight.

This was actually used on Guiding Light. You just slowed down a part in the middle to make it match Osbourne's version.
