  • I was here at this concert... fun day!

  • everyone has their own political and religious beliefs, but regardless of belief or affiliation, we should all respect others. America gave people the right to express themselves, famous or not. the songs says "I believe in the promised land" not "YOU should/have to believe". if you can speak your mind, why shouldn't Jackson and Bruce?

  • is it my imagination or does Jackson wreck the song by singing on it? Did I hear it correctly?

  • WOW WOW WOW Browne and Springsteen who every got to see that show was amazingly lucky I hope that the message that they sang about lives in them....

  • Great Vid! But this song is not suited for JB's sweet voice... You need soul and guts to sing The Promised Land.

  • I was there!

  • I was there!

  • The guy on the harp will never make it big.

  • I think its great Browne and Springsteen are friends- they both admire eachother's work and playing together make music awesome. they dont argue over who's better or politics or junk- they just play and have fun- everyone should take their example

  • What a memory this is! I wasn't there, but all I have to do is close my eyes and there is where I want to be...hence the saying: "WHERE EVER I GO, THERE I AM." It works for me!

  • the man has aged

  • LOL, I don't know how Bruce can sing with that harmonica contraption around his chin, bobbin all around, lol.

  • Bruce raw but......breakin it down - great as usual and JB there does not hurt matters either - both still so good after all these years

  • hey all I added "My stunning mystery companion" by jackson browne check it out!

  • This isnt very good.

  • THIS HARMONY IS HEAVEN SENT!!

    theeeeeeee boooossssssssssss!

    BRUCE rules!!

  • No... it was the weekend you were jacking off to Tour de France videos.

  • Fuck off and die.

  • Comment removed

  • As a 30-year fan of both Bruce and JB, I have to agree with the comments that this didn't really "work". Sounds too raw, like they barely rehearsed it together; there's just no real vocal harmony/chemistry between them. Prob. explains why neither ever put this out on VHS or DVD.

I believe this was a follow up (albeit 3 long years later) to the "No Nukes" concerts @ MSG in '79. The collabs in those shows worked much better. Plus Bruce's "The River" in that show is my all-time fave !

  • This was the worst. lol I think Jackson was experiencing a temporary jag of tone defness.

  • great to watch

  • Wow! I prefer pre-bodybuilder Bruce to the later expanded version.

  • Sorry, That was supposed to be a response to Acason4.

  • I love Bruce and really like Jackson, but is it just me, or does JB seem like he feels really awkward joining in on the chorus? Maybe it's because their voices don't really mesh. Bruce is very hard, rough, powerful - Jackson is more of a quiet singer. Certainly each style has its own strengths and weaknesses; it just doesn't feel like they work together....

  • Thanks for sharing this great video!

  • Bruce Springsteen & Jackson Browne are geat references of the American Music of these days.

I ´m not American but I love this song from "The promised Land..."

  • never saw this before. thanks for posting it...oh and check out the stuff behind Bruce like the cop checking the fotogs out...very slice of life from that time.

  • I think I was at this show - was this in Central Park?

  • wow my two favorite artists together. that musut have been amazing, to bad i wasn't born. I wish those two would do more colabs.

  • MY two favorites as well - it's heartwarming to see that a "youngster" appreciates their music!! Good for you danjibski!!

  • Guys are so funny with the democrats and republican bullsht. A two party system doesn't work for everyone, but the democrats represent the blue-collar working class, civil rights, women's rights, and social system. The republicans represent big business and conservative right wing religion. I'd take democrats anyday over some christian conservative mentality that is going to try to change this nation to a religious state of mind; much like the same religious state of mind we are fighting.

  • @suicidalstan true dat! George bush stopped sex education in schools and available contraception because apparently god doesn't like it! Does god like teenage pregnancies? it's stupid. Fundamentalist Christians are so touchy about sex, and attach a stigma that means that children are not educated properly. A good opinion on this is "Not the End of the World" by Christopher Brookmyre. Very funny, but poignant as well. I recommend it. this is a great song, and not bad on solo acoustic guitar.

  • @17Hongo You are so correct. Organized religion is so full of contradictions and hypocrisies but those deluded by it can't, or won't, see it.

  • @PhysicsProf1 the real problem is when zealots get hold of an idea they like, and then play it up to absolutism. that's the kind of thinking behind the september the 11th attacks. the sad thing is, christians with a similar mindset don't see themselves as the same as the muslim extremists, although they are pretty much the same thing.

  • @suicidalstan The country was founded on religion

  • @TurtleRocker12 It all adds separation of church and state. By the way whose God is right anyways. Religion will be the USA''s downfall. Gods and devine beings are all make believe anyways. Good luck with the fairytales. I'll make sure to be the new Jesus if I hear from god.

  • @suicidalstan So you're saying you believe that we're here as the result of nothing? There's no origin? There's no start? How can something come from nothing

Without a religious creation you've solved nothing

There'd be no way that the earth or people or any form of matter of any kind could exist without a divine being because there's nothing to start that matter

and if you think it's all by chance and things just falling into place out of nothing - then i guess you have more faith than me bud

  • @TurtleRocker12 Ok if something can't come from nothing, where did God/Gods come from? So if something can't be created from nothing, what created God/Gods? By the way, check out evolution and biology. I guess God came from nothing. By the way God can simultaneously control the universe and all the atoms and also can speak to all 6 billion people at once in all their native languages. Now I believe.

  • I hate to say it... but the Democrats represent big business as well.

They might be slightly less evil than the Republicans but they definitely don't represent the working class.

  • @bensmith3200 You've got that right brother!!!!!

  • @suicidalstan You are only grasping the very basics, what "they" want you to think. The system is set up to pit Dems against Repubs... when actually it is Big Interests who win no matter who is in (apparent) power. I am not talking conspiracy... this is just how it is set up.

  • @suicidalstan what a idiot!

  • @zazz5186 Why is that? Could you explain what's so wrong about his argument? I'm interested to hear your answer. : )

  • socialists! wow so that's great ...what is the problem mr nowellian? They make America GREAT

  • more like this at mybrucespringsteen

  • Do you have any from the show outside Bally's Grand, Atlantic City where Bruce showed up as a "surprise" guest? It was the best show, ever.

  • jerseygirlmarianne was there too! the search iz on

  • I was at that show! It was awesome, the stadium swayed when Bruce came out & everyone went nuts. I would love to see it again.

  • Mister I ain't a boy no I'm a man and I believe in a promised land!

These guys are democrats, but should be socialists!

    Peace.

  • You gotta come from Jersey!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Unfortunately I do"!

  • You don't have to come from Jersey. Springsteens lyrics resonate all over the USA. That's why he rocks. That's why he's the Boss!

  • ah guys? ahh the boss is singing about the promised land... a little hush please... how will we ever live in harmony when we get to the promised land????

  • If everyone of us would start listening more to the music of our lives and less to the people who are trying to convince us of something..ie: Politicians...we would/could/will change the world. Peace on Earth 2008...Let it be.

  • Amen... all politicians are suspect.. who cares.. the music is all that saves me..

  • Thanks Bruce for such a great song .. just the best lyrics .... And you jerks commenting on lefts and rights .. Man it's the music we love the Boss for ... Try to remeber that!!!!

  • So cool to see these two play, and one of my favorite Boss cuts.

    Two of the best, period.

  • Daddys garage, blue collar, heavy chevy, farming the land, growing crops, down the alleyway, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Hey where's John Cougar Mellencamp and Tom Petty to make this the ultimate WORKINGMANS concert?

  • Here he is again the "reason & facts" nazi idiot, making vague statements, jumping on any Republican dick he can suck, just for the sake of being a "yes" man. You're so right, thank God for Reagan being right,he tried to get ketchup as a vegetable..LOL,Iran Contra affair,& the US went from the Largest International Creditor to the World's Largest Debtor(the 1st time in history)not to mention raising the National Debt from $700 billion to $3 trillon.Dig up some facts,& quit embarassing yourself

  • Wow. I have my own stalker. Glad to see I am getting to you. You must have a very poor education if all you can do is push your homosexual desires onto me. Pretty sick. So I guess you don't like the fact that Reagan took over an economy in shambles. got inflation down and rebuilt the military. Sorry you don't like that. You are wrong again.

  • Again do your homework,he did drop inflation but if u understood economics you'd see the national debt devalued the $ so badly it negates inflation success. If the cost of rebuilding the military is becoming the largest debtor nation in the world u can have it.

  • In each post u refer to education,it's obvious to anyone,u are the one without one.I continue to supply hard #'s/facts,yet we still haven't seen any from u.You're not getting to me,I need to make sure anyone who hasn't done any research, sees that you're just a bad tabloid magazine. You've yet to supply anything that resembles a fact...Lost ball....high grass, unfindable--Sorry:(

  • After a while, an idiot always exposes himself, suprisingly it took you less time than I expected--Make up some more lies and untruths about Bruce and our government, we all need a good laugh. You should change your user name to "National Enquirer", I think it would serve you well:) Cheers:)

  • This guy acason4 is a real liberal punk.

  • Let's define 4 Furmountain:

    LIBERAL:open-minded or tolerant,free from prejudice or bigotry,favoring/permitting freedom-he's correct & I'm proud!

PUNK:decayed wood, spongy substance derived from fungi...uh,a little confused here,u know comparing a human to decayed wood, maybe ur confusing me with ur decrepit, decayed&fungi covered manhood.U should really have that looked at.Again ur wits r no match,no reason to render u defenseless to anymore mental destruction & embarrassment.Take Care:)

  • You picked the dictionary definitions that were to your liking..that's quite clever. So you are a free thinker? Generous even? A punk is a spongy piece of wood? You are worthless....stop wasting my time. Tell me what is wrong with this country? I'm listening. I'll refute and argument you have. Another Internet tough guy, and yeah I dig hairy women.

  • Do you know what you are talking about? Me thinks not.

  • Please Mr.Fur Mounter,do everyone a favor, and crawl back in ur hole of hairy armpits, little fetish you have there huh?Well,at least you a vast knowledge of something:)Theres no question I know what I'm talking about,I've done plenty of homework on American Politics,& it's players, but,I get a guy making statments about my lack of knowledge, but he spews on without any credible info of his own.

  • You must work for You Tube corporate...listen Sonny, I've been working my ass off since I was 13...I've been successful. I give to charity. I volunteer. I also know politics is always the lesser of two evils, and I pay over 200K a year in FICA ans SS...chew on that a bit. If people want a job in this country they can get one. It may not be the one they want, but they can work if they so choose.

  • No shocker ur a junker Republican!!!Somehow it doesn't suprise me though.I often notice Republicans almost never have a shred of credibility or facts to tie themselves to so they just start making things up!I imagine it suits u very well-

  • haha you think i am a republican? u may think you're good at music and criticism but obviously politics isn't your game. go back to the short bus.

  • I'll challenge u to any political issue u can think of.I've been reading about 2 political books a week for the last 2 years, everything from Reaganism to the deflation of the US $,to the loony tunes of MichaelSavage,to the current election.I'd bet my entire year's income that like music, politics is just 1 more thing I'd easily outclass u in.If u're not a Republican,u sure act like 1 a lot, defying logic, reason,& facts!Let's also not forget u crying when someone got nasty with u for being a bitch.

  • outclass??? hahaha you have NO class whatsoever in your whole body-

check out jerry springer i think you'd like him...oh and didn't he run for ohio? i guess he also is into politics.

  • Again u avoid the challenge & respond w/ I have no class.U're really kidding yourself if u think that means anything,HA!Then u bring up Jerry Springer???Is this the best u have???Seriously??Can u do no better than to bring up Jerry Springer??Where do u think that means anything, validates anything??U just continue to look unintelligent!Anytime ur up to a debate or a challenge regarding politics,I'll kick ur ego down another flight of stairs while I piss on ur loved ones:)This is so easy its sad:)

  • Sure u have 5InchNeedle!Anytime u want to get ur Republican philosophy crushed LET ME KNOW!U wouldn't stand a chance!"Since u were 4"?Do u realize how stupid u sound? If u're a Republican Bushite then all I can say is:U voted for a Pres that has given us the LOWEST US $ in the HISTORY of the country!U voted for tax cuts where the TOP 1% got TWICE as many breaks as the bottom 60% combined! The disaster Iraq war,& u helped make the US the largest debtor nation in the WORLD!Ur real political savy!

  • Anyone that refuses to type you and your and makes frequent punctuation errors doesn't look very literate at all. If you claiming to reason through debate and argument, then do it! Rather than attacking a certain human profile and throwing back more complicated versions of the words stupid and retarded, use courtesy and fact. Arguments end a lot faster that way.

  • Landon there r only 500 characters so when I can abbreviate:I WILL!!I have enough intelligence to assume 99% should understand the difference in you're/your!Punctuation errors??Sorry NO:)I NEVER attacked a human profile!I provided FACTS regarding the issues that have sank the US economy!!If u can't grasp that then u need to find an education!!The 2 morons I was arguing w/provided NOTHING BUT INSULTS!I may have fired a few insults, but the reality is I also provided FACTS!When I did:THEY SHUT UP!

  • That's true, but you know what? You made many errors, which did not need more characters to correct. Capitalization errors, Punctuation errors and the like. And I really didn't want to read your post, due to the lack of format/spacing, and your over use of some punctuation made it look terrible. The all caps made it seem angry, uncontrolled, and negative. Plus, you can always post more than one comment as a follow up.

    Sincerely, The Commodore

  • Do you suffer from small penis syndrome? ME KNOW SO...I think they sell some type of cream to help growth, just a thought?:)Say it loud, they won't come & arrest you...No seriously:"I will not be deaf, dumb,& blind,I will think for my self!"Best of luck Mr.Furmaster

  • You seem very interested in the size of my penis and fetishes...are you gay? What kind of guys do you like? Broke and living behind a dumpster or those in a Canali suit? You are way over-matched here...but you know that. Good day.

  • Man..you're doing an amazing job of lieing to yourself.Over matched??by what some turd on YouTube that has a fetish for chicks with hairy armpits. Please, take all that money you have,& go buy a slice of "REALITY", hell..even a small piece could serve your dumb ass..Sonny?I mean what kind of tool calls someone Sonny?News flash old man,it's 2007,oh & real original turn around on the gay thing, man u really got me there:)...Get Bent Fur Boy!

  • You don't understand any of the issues...your just some liberal panzy hiding on the Internet. Again, you seem fixated on the videos I download. You may know then that I download a ton of boxing clips as well..I used to be an amateur boxer. I've walked down streets where you would lock yourself in the car. You are a pussy...when you want to discuss the issues let me know.

  • Ha,ha,ha,ha,just like a Republican,"we must kill what we cannot compete with or understand."Yeah your the typical right wing Nazi;inferior in every way to most everyone,as u threaten from behind a computer keyboard-Ooooh tough guy.Listen old man,ur a turd,PERIOD.Ur boxing days are over,&most certainly more dream than reality. You old guys crack me up..thinking ur all bad & shit, just like anything, fighting has come miles since the 40's bud, enjoy inferiority..o' wait u been doing it for years:)

  • I think it would suit you well to "come out of the closet." Fighting has come a long way since the 40's? Has it? No it hasn't. Very little has changed. If I hit you first, it's over. If you hit me first, it's over...depending on where you land. Let me guess...your an MMA fighter right? Christ, not another guy who buys the MMA pay-per-views and practices in the mirror. You still refuse to address the real issues politically...what's bothering you kid? The war? The economy?
