@tubeant77 Iam looking to get Grande Punto 95bhp 16V - but iam still worried you know its a Fiat... Would you recommend it and would you buy it again if you have chance?
Probably yes, at least it is produced earlier than 2008 because of the blue Fiat logo. AFAIK in November 2007 Fiat changed to the red logo including a different seats for the sport edition.
Got the series two 1.4 16v Punto last week, in Black too. The engine has some nice power for a 1.4. The 6th gear is a nice feature for the car (if you get the 16v, as it's only 5 on the 8v) as it keeps the car quite quiet even at 70+ mph.
I am having the same but in white. Have you also experienced that people who see the interior the first time always touch the buttons of the seat like they want to dial to home? LOL
Yeah, I have it and I am pretty happy with it. For sure not as fast as my 190 cv Peugeot 406 that I had before ... so I can't say much if the Grande Punto is fast or not. With the 6th gear it is for sure like as mike141292 already said: much more quiet than the 8v model with 75 cv and 5 gears.
Yeah, my 6 gears is the 1.4 16V model with 95 hp - so not the 120 hp 1.4 T-Jet model. But the 6th gear seems to be a cruise gear only because it is way too stiff to accelerate on the motorway - so on the motorway I prefer the 5th gear.
I only had a few minor problems in the first half months, e.g. tail lamps rubbed down a half centimeter, one moulding on the roof went up and such stuff but everything got fixed during warranty. I haven't had any further issues since February.
i ordered one recently. what i cant get my head around is how can Renault sell a bog standard crappy clio for the same price as a punto sporting? to me, its madness! and the punto looks a whole lot sexier!

6 gears, so its not a T-jet then?
They are lovely looking cars anyway you made a wise choice..
I'd have been happy with any engine but just would prefer the petrol turbo =P
You've had no problems with it? Do you find the suspension too stiff?

is it noisy inside at greater speed?

to me it is all music. But to answer your question, considering the type of car, price, etc...it does pretty good.
