@TheRealStreetSoldier ya i was reading something on a website about them and they said its a brand name they still use to market them but they actually say its a 66cc
actually as long as ur on a bike lane its fine it's considered pedal assist so it's not really a unliciensed vehicle if thats wat ur thinking now if u took the pedals off then u mite get pulled over
I have one of these. 50cc Is there a simple modification I can do to increase torque, so that I can climb hills faster? No expensive suggestions please
yeah i got the same kit. its so much fun! i ride it all over dundas. best thing i bought. but the metal was so cheap i had to replace almost all the bolts because they broke
Thank God its still legal in British Columbia... anything under 50cc is not considered a moped and I'm getting one soon at zoom bicycles hopefully (also thankful they are located in Burnaby)
Thanks for the climb for I need to get over twin Peaks here in San francisco on a daily basis and am not sure if my new monstrosity could handle the climb. Yours handled the climb well. This is somewhere in the Northeast, like NH or Vermont, yes?
there pretty reliable and it never didnt run but it does have kinda a bad desighn for tightening the chain. I like the kits that are pressure driven and mount on the top of the rear tire.
only thangs i dont like bout the rear mounted 1s are for 1 from wut i was told i would have to change my backtire from the knobby to a crusier type and 2 i wouldnt be able to carry anythang on the back lol
there are no 80cc engines being built, how all the different sellers are able to not be shut down by ebay for lieing, I don't know, but the manufacturer only makes two type, the 48CC referred to the 50cc and the 69cc which is referred to as the 70cc the 80cc kits are ALL falsely advertised they are 70cc or perhaps even 500 cc depending on the honesty of the dealer PS, the rounding up to the nearest ten is common of even Japan and American engine products
deal with an honest seller who list the auction as a 70cc, and when the kit arrives promptly go to the hardware store and purchase grade 8 hardware of metric threads 10.9 is stamped on the tops of them. Use nylon lock nuts or blue or slightly weaker locktite or cheap super glue to assemble everything after a test fit I would also lubricate the reduction gears on the right side of the engine with a high temp tacky grease or engine assembly lube
mine did 27mph till it vibrated the bike apart. i'm gonna put it on a full suspension bike and run the chain to the crank so it will be a a 7speed using the rear shifter. i'll probably use alot of loctite this time
the bike chain will handle the torque of five of these engines the average man can exert 200 to 300 lbs of torque with one leg this thing likely exerts maybe ten pounds
I have 2 motorized mountain bikes, both work great. I took my bike down the same road this video was taken on Church St in Putnam by that rich guys horse barn to get to the Thompson Dam and check out a great scenic view.
Yep, and i only paid $175.21(USD) for the item and shipping together, it's in the mail and I'll be playing Frankenstein with my bike and the engine about a week from now lol.
Following up my last post... It's been over 4 months since i installed it on a diamondback response mountain bike, and the kit still works great, goes about 30mph and 100-150mpg, i just wish it had a variable transmission... Then it would accelerate from 0-10mph better and would easily go over 45mph.
Bike engine kits are the easiest thing in the world to find on the internet. Why can't people just do a search. And these Chinese 2 strokes have been replaced with better 4 strokes and the sprockets are now mounted to the hub and not the spokes, which loosens the spokes and the chain comes off from the stress. This kit is now out of date.
For "themaddam", I'm about to buy the 2 stroke 80cc, as the only 4 stroke is 50cc for now.
As for you "crudbudsucks", you sir... are a retard. Have you looked at the prices and selection on google product search for these kinds if items? If your ignorant about something, then you should play the American game... which is tucking your head in a hole, and shutting the fuck up.
well after you undertand how everything installs it only takes like a half hour but at first it can be around 3 to 5 hours depending on how good you are with this kinda stuff.
dose that run pretty good my bro rides his bike alot to work and i was thinking of getting that kit so he could ride home if he was tired i say it in auto trader but have not heard any reviews thanks
i have to be honest these kits are awsome but theyre awsome when they work. when something goes wrong then your screwed. i would recomment your freind getting a scooter like a honda elite 50 or something.
ebay is f-ing awesome, got got this kit 2. it was 119$ and then shiping was 60$!! and to think, i had pay i lot more for a goped years ago. this thing is way more fun and really fast!!
with the stock sprocket probably around 25-30 mph. with a aftermarket sprocket probably around 35-40. an d r u planning on putting this on the same bike as you electric kit
How fast are you able to get this thing going on a flat? I'm thinking of getting one of these in addition to my electric bike kit, but putting a smaller sprocket on rear wheel for the gasoline drivetrain.
yup you could outrun bigfoot on that

@MotorMan20091 i think it might say in the manuel but i think i always ran 32:1 and for break in i might have run a little more oil and took it easy.

this is technically a motorized vehicle rite?
even if it isnt a car or truck or motorcycle etc. . .
can you get this confiscated if your 16 or 17 without liscence?
jalenec 2 years ago
its really 80cc but you wouldn't know by looking at it so the cops wouldent know. Also, it is pedal started so you should be fine without a license
pizzaisgood14 2 years ago
actually they are more like 66cc the Chinese measure their engines different
TheDigitalguyy 2 years ago
@pizzaisgood14 this bike is technically 66cc that is why it feels like 50cc they are legal allowed to call it 80cc for some reason

Yes you change the gear ratio, but i don't recommend that because you will decrease overall speed by ALOT. Increasing torque makes you go slower :(

Careful, You have to heavaly tighten every screw and bolt on the bike or that can happen, the solution, pressure washers and loctite.
Also beware, the engine chain is far more inclined to handle the torque than the small flimsy pedal chain.
