  • Both...the most beautiful cars ever.

  • poorly directed movie.

  • Please tell me they wrecked a look-alike and not a real Charger.

  • nooooo the charger :(

  • 3:05 you can see the camera mans shadow

  • A 68 Charger will always kick the balls off of a 70 challenger

  • Comment removed

  • @ 4:53 i turned it off disgrace!!!!

  • It's too... Serious. Doesn't have the soul of the original at all.

  • ah... back then dodge charger and challenger were close competitors. But now the charger is a four door sedan and the challenger has gone off to go against the mustang and camaro. But as always, time has changed

  • shitty remake...

  • Why are Chargers expensive these days? Bc of movies like this. Senseless waste. Along with that shitty Dukes Of Hazzard remake and stinking Fast Furious shit.

  • I love Dodge Challenger)))

  • I was completely unaware that there was a remake of this.

  • @taulpaul85 same as that dude. im gonna have to watch it now and while it downloading im gonna go rage about in my challenger on forza 4.

  • @taulpaul85 You haven't missed anything. It was a complete shambles.

  • 1:12 American Muscle. (x

  • At 4:43 the charger's passenger hasn't got any rifle. But at 4:46 he's got!

  • there's a restored challenger near where i lived. it was green but had a completely new V8 engine. sounded beautiful, but it would hold me back 80k. :(

  • why is the bullet charger in this?

  • why do those idiots in hollywood always destrory mopars. if you need to destroy a muscle car make it a junker i mean gm but never a mopar.

  • That's how you play chicken like a man

  • God damn, I love American muscle cars.

  • Lmao why in every movie the pussy is always riding shotgun screaming n shit?

  • @MrCleanPolo LOL

  • @MrCleanPolo because thats what pussies do, they ride shot gun and scream about the drivers driving.

  • To pay homage to the original they should have use a modern jaguar instead of the charger.

  • Challenger vs Charger?? HELL YEAH!

  • @MasterChief865 there both great cars

  • It was a real '68 Charger which crashed? I hope not!

  • @zsoma1993 I don't think they would do that, you can buy the whole car new though, if you or someone can put it together.

  • Battle of the Dodge R/T`s. AW yea

  • y crash all da sexy cars but not a fukin toyota prius

  • Why do they have to trash dodge chargers in movies... WHY

  • I don't recall watching this movie.

    Jose F. Medeiros :-)

    San Jose, California

  • Thumbs up if YAHOO! News brought you here!! :))

  • fast and furious =4 dead chargers dukes of hazzard =310 dead chargers bullit = 1 dead charger now this o how i hate american movie directors

  • Woot Challenger vs Charger

  • Comment removed

  • That Charger belongs in someone's garage - preferably mine - only to be driven on Sundays.

  • lol in the charger the shotgun is riding shotgun

  • this movie is piece of crap, but those cars... EPIC

  • 5:46 - God forgive me that 68 Charger almost get killed.

  • But the cars are beautiful

  • i am Kowalski too

  • Thanks for the post, I am so old I didn't realize there was a remake. But I have to tell you Barry Newman rules! (original)

  • Yet ANOTHER film that did NOT need remaking. And the whole POINT of the original was LOST - by the introduction of a "motivation" for its hero. Sad.

  • This movie ain't worth a single SCRATCH in a 68 Charger.. AND a total and utter disgrace to the original ! If I saw it again, it would be out of respect and homage to the cars that died in the making.. May they rest in peace !

  • @Chryslerdude may they rust in peace :p

  • @Chryslerdude i second that, this aint Kowalsky for real

  • @Chryslerdude That's quite harsh. The original though...Almost on par with Bullit.

  • @Psychoholicable Hey man.. No, I don't think so. Why is everybody SO busy copying each other. Take the same amount as this movie budget, and spend it on a new script w/out Charger-killing. Nobody is praising this movie.. well, NEARLY everybody agrees.. it simply stinks. Much better to give new writers a chance, and of course.. to be a LITTLE MORE critical, than for the plots in "Fast and Fu.." movies. Anyways, my main point was, that the movie is not worth trashing neither of these cars for ;-)

  • I whant the music frome this movie!

  • how many time the challenger changes gear? have you count them?

  • "Terminate this pursuit"..With extreme prejudice. and to his own hobby cop detriment. Most of this was filmed in Monument Valley, Az. Blanding Utah is about 60 miles North. Pop 2000ish in 1971. But Mexican Hat, up the road about 20 miles is about 50 pop.. Kayenta Az, behind them, was about 50 then. Now it has a Burger King and a pop of god knows what, over 2000,...

  • Crazy Mary, dirty Harry, Dukes of Hazzard and this one, definitely Chargers were made to be destroyed !-)

  • @pablof59 and dont forget fast and the furious. in almost all of them it gets wrecked lol i feel so bad for the cars. They're destroying the few that are left

  • @playeradam123 ifeel you man. instead of makingricers feel empowered by the destruction of muscle cars why not sent them to a loving home.id gladly buy them from movie makers instead of them wrecking them. thats why im going to take a dodge ram and start ramming the ricers of the road seehow they feel. jk . but if i had my way id ban ricers. i dont get why the govt is so strict about mpg. 4cyls put out much more emissions than a 6mpg 426 hemi. force lower gas prices and global warming is solved

  • The cops wouldn't have had a charger... lol the original is better, even since you can buy the original on bluray :P

  • why movies always wreck the charger

    fast and furious 1 . 4 . 5 : dodge charger wrecked

    death proof : wrecked

dukes of hazzard 99.9% almost wreck

    bullet : wrecked

  • @OffRoad6629 i know i love chargers

  • @kaizendogtraining doesn't matter, when you consider how hard it is to find even parts or shells yet alone restorable cars, you'll understand why i want to kidney punch everyone who has ever wrecked a 68-70 charger for a movie.

  • I hate it when classic cars are wrecked for mediocre movies

  • @EarlofCrawford I would have been more satisfied if the cops were driving a '97 Crown Vic.

  • I was passing through Cisco UT, summer of 1970, with my family heading to Arches National Park. We came upon the filming of the crash scene from the orginal VP. However, the weather had changed and in order to keep the continuity, the filming was halted. We had to leave before the crash :(

At least we got some photos of Barry Newman, the bulldozers, the explosive laden Camaro and the Challenger :)

  • @majorbuzzz sounds awsome

  • @majorbuzzz you are sooo lucky

  • @majorbuzzz in the beginning of the movie was a camaro but in the all movie i dont see any camaro and i have 21 years xD i love that movie the 71 and the 97

  • @kaizendogtraining

    Confirmed.

  • should of used a 69 dodge charger

  • Primal Scream sampled the Barry Newman movie in '97.

  • Thumbs up if you think this is a better version of the charger in dukes of hazzard

  • iv got vanishing point but i dont remeber this scene being in it :S

  • why why why, why make a remake of a timless movie even with a good actor like vigo.

it's no use , taking of pellham 123 , the getaway all crap ,sorry couldn't think of a better word, whats next BULLIT, come on, studios of hollywood redigitalise the old ones the best you can enhance the sound and go, even the young ones of today apreciate the old school

  • That charger was double strong!

  • Vigo is one ugly dude.

  • empty piece of crap in compare with original (1971)

movie completely lost its sense...in original was some meanings in background not only cars

  • empty piece of crap in compare with original (1971)

  • Another vintage muscle car destroyed, great job cum guzzlers, might as well blow the directors of the fast and the faggy.

  • why is it that every movie i see with a charger, it gets destroyed?!!!!

    -Bullitt

-The Fast and The Furious, Fast Five

    -Vanishing Point

    -Death Proof

  • why does the Chager in films all ways get destroyed

  • How come the Charger is always the villain car?

  • @r8wing In those days, the Charger was Dodge's bigger, faster Sports car while the Challenger was Dodge's smaller, cheaper, "the underdog" Pony Car.

  • the music in the original was way better. Nothing says 70's more than dodge and blues funk and disco

  • finally found this movie.. i remember watching this 4:00 am when i was 10 (11 years ago)

  • A fairly good remake, but not as good as the original....

  • Picturesque if nothing else. As far as car chases go, there wasn't a whole lot of tension, mostly due to the remote location and lack of traffic. But it picked up pretty well near the end. A lot of good burn out footage.

  • Charger and Challenger, sick as bro!

  • american cars are fun

    more than fun, hilarious

  • Worst car chase I've ever seen in my life.

  • I didnt know they remade it I saw 70's vs.

  • Lesson learned. Never drive and shoot.

  • when was this made?

  • Crappy remake i have to say but it got me thinkin.. is there any movie where Charger isnt on losing side ?

    General Lee dosent count lol

  • Crappy remake i have to say but it got me thinkin.. is there any movie where Challenger isnt on losing side ?

    General Lee dosent count lol

  • Well that was teh crappiest...I don't know what it was, but whatever it was it was the CRAPPIEST one ever.

  • @ 4:56 goof! The shotgun is still up at the passenger's seat while the driver is supposed to have it.

  • what a waste of a beautiful Charger.

  • A wonderful car crashed for a bad chase car scene

  • such a low speed chase ?????

  • Only thing good about this movie is the Cars, the movie itself has nothing on the original.

  • This is a disgrace to the original movie! They totally missed the point, boring as hell and Viggo (WTF?) Mortensen! Please go f*ck gay hobbits and leave Vanishing Point alone!

  • @vdochev Totally agree. The original version is now a cult classic. This newer version is jam packed full of bollywood silicon and stale bubble gum.

  • @vdochev Just another TV-movie belch made by 2rd-rate hacks with no original ideas of their own. Almost as bad as the imbecles who remade "Psycho". Not to mention pointless. Not surprising how so many remakes of classic movies soon fade into oblivion. NIce waste of good money!

  • @Onneff69

Yes. I've watched the remake of Psycho and it doesn't feel like the original movie at all although it is a shot by shot remake. But my point is that it shouldn't have been. I'd rather watch a different interpretation of the book than a remake of a classic movie. I think Vince Vaughn is a nice actor but he always plays in silly comedies which I usually pass.

  • a remake? blech.

nothing can top the original VP.

  • @TheKatefantastic true, but actually, it's not bad at all, is just that original is better, but as a movie, i also liked the remake

  • @TheKatefantastic disagreed. better sound / picture quality in 26 yrs later, and the cops are driving a '68 charger in this one :)

  • @laromycornelius You're right brother. And in the 71 version, the Challenger wasn't HEMI....

  • @TheKatefantastic This remake is disaster. What that director smoked?

  • this is a great movie I seen them both the original and this one is my fav .

  • this ant any thing like the 71 1st one this is 1997 fux brannuts it suxs

  • that's the real american muscle

  • man that charger was in excellent condition....what a shame

  • Who would do that to a Dodge Charger. Fuck.

  • Cops should stick to cop cars

  • This is a remake? chuck looks and sounds like tommy lee jones.

  • i threw up...

  • nnooooo my love!

  • ! .

    CHARGER 4EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hate Chuck !

  • Black Charger......White Challenger...........sound familiar. Can you say Quentin Tarantino's "DeathProof??"

  • @mrdeedz1 White Charger in Death Proof was a homage to Vanishing Point-

  • The Duke Boys could've not crashed and caught ole kawalski! lol

  • Good scenery - bad acting - something's missing - watch the original from 1971.

  • If that was a Chevy! it would still be running after it flpped like that! lol

  • this actor is not cool, hes kinda lame

  • Thank god they didnt wreck a real one, i was brought to tears when i saw that

  • oh and for all those with your panties in a twist, no way that was a real charger R/T in that condition that they wrecked. They make kit cars all the time for movies to wreck.

  • Kowalski znam te nazwisko :D

  • Why does the movie industry always have to go and waste perfectly good mopars?

  • @lukebccb

    They made good mopars?

  • Es difícil comprender cómo a alguien se le puede pasar por la cabeza la estúpida idea de destruir una máquina tan bella!

  • We're comin' on to Blanding !!!! I love that line haaaaaaa

  • My wife yes. my dog maybe

    My dodge?...Never !

  • this remake was better i seriousley dont know why everybody liked the original it fuckin sucked ass

  • @Mruhl316 yeah the 1997 version was so much better

  • @Mruhl316 I kind of agree with you I first saw the original it was a cult classic back in the day , I found this to be more of a love story than the original , I like em both but this one is the best

  • OMG they TRASHED that 68' for this HORRIBLE REMAKE... AHHH!

  • The Oringinal is better!

  • Aww Damn they killed my charger.. I loved that car!!

  • That was the most stupid car crash ever in a movie... For a stupid and bad movie remake...

I wish they would kill Rubbish cars instead of all time classic

  • Polish guy

  • this movie was actualy one of my earliest memorys, this is actualy one of the parts i remebered for a long time

  • god, not the stupid religion riddled remake.

  • figures... ford always gets in the way of a good rivalry

  • The scenes of the car chase is breathe taking and the Charger is both cooler looking then the white Challenger and is a ode to what the Charger is and was. Not the 4 door monstrosity that Dodge brought out in 2005.

  • pause at 0:50

NOT THAT IS THE STAR IN THE MOVIE, CHALLENGER GOT NOTHING TO THAT <33333

  • If anyone can pinpoint the HWY and Mile Marker for the scene at 0:26, drop in to my Dodge video and leave me a note (Click on my username). Even an educated estimate, thanks in advance.

  • i just don't understand this. they smashed the beautiful charger for this 6 minutes of stupidity. Like we don't have the original clip

  • stop killig chargers!

  • The original is just so much better IMO. And what's up with the motorcycle girl not riding bare breasted? At least Gilda Texter did it right in the "old" Vanishing Point...

  • tbh, out of these two... i prefer the dodge :D... ;)

  • i dont think there has ever been a charger featured in a movie that didnt get completely destroyed

  • This is supposed to be the wrecked Jaguar in the original ??

  • What a douchey remake of the movie. I hate when they make re-makes of movies just to ad a douchey star, some douchey music, and a whole lot of try too hard.

  • its not the car in the chase its how you drive it...

  • Thats cause they didnt sent any Porsches on him... maybe in 70s they werent able to accelerate as fast as Challenger but the Challenger wouldnt lose them from balls no matter what he would do

  • dont you dare put a bullet hole in that challenger

  • FWIW, I like the ending in the re-make better. Not the stunt, though, just the final scenes. In the stunt car,the wheels change(goof). The original movie's ending was very anti-climactic. Believe it it or not, in the original, for whatever reason, they used a '67 Camaro instead of the Challenger for the final crash scene. The original Challenger from the original movie is in the Muscle Car Museum in TN... still unwashed, unrestored. Most people never notice. Just sayin' ... For what it's worth.
  • What a FAKE roll over and wast of a Charger!

  • lol...watching these cars turn is like watching titanic trying to steer before it hits the iceberg...great show...

  • The Chargers are always getting wrecked :S

  • Cops better not fuck with Aragorn.

  • Never was a Charger murdered for such a worthless cause as this dreck.

I want this six minutes of my life back.

  • chopper down for maintenence?

WTF they must have what 2 call outs per MONTH!?

  • To quote the script, 'Sgt. Preston' substituted his Charger for the 'dogpie Chevy' because'It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar'. This was the Fox TV remake, gets no respect but i thought it was a cool movie. Vigo Mortensen will never work that cheap ever again! Great car sound effects, vintage Mopars...

  • why dont we all pretend this version wasnt made and never look at this again

  • @adrianlane2 agreed!!

  • I can't found this movie to download ..... the original is great but I can't found this version .... can somebody help me???

  • @MrMegacedric

    Don't download it mate!

-Buy it on disc, you won't be sorry. The Original 'Vanishing Point' is a real classic.

And remember, as with other great movies there are some differing edits out there - You know, for different countries etc.

  • its amazing how skinny the tyres are for cars with 380bhp and shed loads of torque 480 ft lbs i think?? but these cars also way 16/1700 kgs... its amazing the tyres hold at all

  • there goes a mint looking charger for the sake of... well... of nothing at all.

    Shame.

  • They just murdered a Charger NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • boy, they really messed up this remake.....too bad.

  • they should've waited til 2010 to do this. that way, they could use a new charger police cruiser v.s a new challenger.
