Islam is what the Qur'an and the Hadiths say it is. It may sound nice for you to think whatever you're thinking but that doesn't change the facts. The Qur'an is believed by Muslims to be the literal words of Allah and the Hadiths are what Muhammad said and did. Anything you say that contradicts these books will not be listened to by Muslims. To them these books are authentic and infallable. So instead of thinking up alternate explaniations, we need to deal with the reality that is.
